Amazing and spectacular day of fishing. How great it is to be able to document it and share with fellow fishing addicts. I remember years ago in June at Lake Castaic I had a similar day. I had the point all to myself and it was chunk after chunk, non-stop for at least an hour. I decided to begin to keep the larger ones for photos later on and in a short period of time the live well was absolutely choked full of five and six pounders. It was bordering on a dream. I distinctly remember they only bitt a grey-green curly tail worm on split-shot. It was nuts!!! Never had anything remotely like that again. On the ocean my brother and I have had maybe two days like this but that’s it. They are freaks of nature. Thank goodness you were blessed to have experienced it. Thanks for sharing it with everyone Greg. I’m sure I speak for everyone when I tell you that we all very much enjoy your videos. Keep it going!!!! Angel
Truly awesome day on the water. Always good having people with you but being out on the water in a kayak by yourself is like nothing else. Especially fishing the way you do. That combination makes life enjoyable. Epic day and video.
It's great when you locate huge schools of fish. Makes all those tough days of fishing worth going out. Awesome double up gotta love the A-rig. You're still by far my favorite RUclipsr. Keep em coming!
One of your best videos of the year. Definitely cool to see you get a day like that in. Also a little jealous considering the temps here are in the 40’s.
We all dream about fishing days like this. I’ve had a couple days like this in my life and I was by myself and couldn’t share it with friends. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I think there was some film trickery going on here... Looks like you were fishing a lake but it had to be a small pond. There wasn't a dink in the bunch. What an awesome day of fishing. I'd be willing to bet you were exhausted after the adrenaline dump. Lol all those fish on the screen. Great video. 👍
I’ve only had two of these days in my short kayak bass fishing “career” where it was 3-4 pounders one after another. So awesome!! Great videos man, keep it up!!
Crazy! Never had that kind of a situation in freshwater...The fall stripers here in the Northeast surf will give you a day or two of that in the fall....I can only imagine the adrenaline that was going through you, especially when you had 6 lb of bass with the Smallmouth and the Largemouth on the same cast
Oh man it was a blast! Striper doing that would be pretty legit too! I hear this situation happens with big catfish as well, now that'd be a rush doing that all day!
Greg Blanchard for sure, heading up on Saturday (12/22) with Blair out of Capell. I know you work but I’ll hit you up in a few weeks and we can do a week day thing.
@@GregBlanchardFishing hey Greg. I think I have found a kayak for me its a ocean big game 2. I will be picking it up in 20 days can't wait.... So pumped up
Ain’t it fresh when you can double up on big brownies on the rig !!! It’s literally so much fun !!!! Love to catch em on the RIG I’m not a hater I’m a lover it catches em when nothing else can’t when they chasing those big balls of bait around give em what they want ;)
Absolutely amazing day......and looked like y ou u didnt have any company on the water. Had that all to your self. Heck of a school to run into. Wow man i would love ti find an area like that light up the graph. Nice video man. Really glad u share all these trips with us good or bad. But these trips are special for sure. No tournement or anything going on like that just laid back fishing and ran into a mega school. Good job bro. Keep it ul and have a merry Christmas
Good Job Dude!....Keepin it real on your last video payed back for this one. Good or bad you show'em. Great mental focus on this one. You fish better when your alone...we love Mike and the gang but your head is in it when your solo!
Holy Toledo Batman...here's a question...where do you keep the fire extinguisher...???...because you were on fire...great video Greg... Merry Christmas...ho ho ho!!!
Damn son. Today I did some damage dragging creature baits on ledges at Pineflat for largies and spits. But you were a god today. Cannot wait to grab me a kayak and get out there too
Hey Greg there's something I can't quite figure out and maybe you can help me? On a previous video when you are showing us how to set up a drop shot rig with your warmouth. You said you were using a Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier. You also said that you are using 20 pound seaguar fluorocarbon line? Is your Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifier gear to run 20 lb test? I've been wondering and looking for a setup to start flipping and pitching this summer but most reels are not geared or hold the pound test that I'm looking for. Maybe you can give me some insight on that? I know they make reels that hold heavy lines like that. But with several other instances I ran into the same problem. Thanks for your videos I do my best to share them with as many people as I can! GYOBAIT hoodie came in the mail and I love it! Worth every penny! Very good quality going to be awesome out on the water this summer! Thanks again tight lines and good luck bro!
Line size recommendations are just that, recommendations. For standard reels and bass fishing, you probably won't kill one fast unless you're a guide that punches mats day in and day out. This applies to baitcasters more than spinning reels.
@@ScuffedEngineer thanks I was referring to baitcasting reels. I just needed clarification on the size. I've heard a lot of guys say they use 20lbs test but have found very few reels even high quality ones that have a 20 pound test capacity! Do you think using heavier than the recommended will tear up the reel tho?
@@zacharyspiegel5443 Can it? Yes. Just don't try to thumb the spool when breaking off on a locked down drag, and even then many reels see this abuse and lasts. All the pros on tour use standard reels with 20-25lb test when fluoro when flipping and 50-80lb test braid when punching.
@@GregBlanchardFishing Yep I needed an umbrella rig ! lol but it my new hogfarmer BFL will be here wendnesday haha ... But Like you i got a nice Smallie 18in (3.5-4lb)and a nice large 19 in(5.5-6lb) back to back... But gettin them in one cast is just nuts lol. glad you had a great day out been watching you a long time man
Can I come fishing with you Greg? haha! Wow! WHAT A DAY! Epic Smallie double up! What type of fish was that other one... that you caught right before the double up. How many smallies did you land?
Haha, come on out to Cali OLA! it was a pike minnow/squaw fish, super aggressive. I think at the end of that day I had maybe 25 fish and 20 were smallies
When i was little and me and my dad fished striper boils in discovery bay, occasionally we would have two hit the same bait. We called it a double bubble 😂 #doublebubblebaby
Yeah man absolutely insane! Don’t buy one just yet, I’ll send some out to you guys next month. Yep! Most species I’ve caught in a day . Yesterday ended up catching a couple 20+ inch trout too and a 10 pound cat lol

This is what we call strong to very strong. Epic day indeed. I've never tried spoon fishing like that; looks like I need to pick up a couple.

When you are on the motor, wouldn't it be better to lift your pedal drive? Turning the prop and pedals is adding drag. Just my thought 😎
lol, that was my thought too. I tried and it's the same speed but the problem is I get more water kicking up through the drive cover
That was a dream day of fishing. Great quality and quantity, just perfect. Congrats.
yes it was! Thanks man, tight lines
