Not only does greg put up quality videos, he's one of the most consistent with uploading. Lots of other anglers get a decent following then slack off (understandably) and start putting out shorter videos less and less often. I get it, it's a ton of work with recording and editing but that's just one more thing that separates him from the rest. Mr. Blanchard aka Mr. Beef Jerky and sardines 😁
Well said Nick! I've noticed that, too (just like many others). Greg really does grind for us. The dude has his own life, career, and things to deal with in his own world, yet he keeps the quality and quantity coming. I think a lot of people lack the understanding that you do with the subject, when it comes to all of the work beyond the fishing that is; I've heard a lot of people question how it can be so "hard" when you're out fishing and doing something that you love, and it's because they don't understand the time, energy, and effort that goes into everything else - buying gear, prepping gear for a day/night, the angles/shots, ensuring you get quality footage to edit, the music, the conversations with the camera, etc., and of course the entire editing process. I started doing fishing videos a little while back now (with the intention of uploading them when I have a certain amount of episodes), and it opened up my eyes to how much effort some of these guys (like Greg) put in for us. It really made me start to appreciate these types of creators and videos way more. The only way that I've been able to keep myself from taking shortcuts like you mentioned is to constantly remind myself that I'm doing it solely for fun and to enjoy myself through the process of it. That keeps me striving for quality content, but I just cannot match the pace at which Greg creates and uploads. In a year where I've done 12 videos in my spare time, Greg has uploaded a very significant amount. Dude's a beast. And he deserves every single one of his fans and followers.
He paved the way for kayak bass fishing on RUclips. It’s definitely no easy task. Breaking the barrier between viewers and yourself is hard and then to be creative with every single edit in your own way is another difficult task. Not everybody has the time though. I’d say 95% of anglers have Monday-Friday jobs.
Greg. My name is Esteban Medina and I really love kayak bass fishing. My kayak broke. But I wanted to say that I really love your videos. You put so much work and detail into your day on the water. This video of you and Mike on the water and then having that sardine snack together. That really shows botherhood between the 2 of you. That was the best part. Keep making your videos. They are awesome. Keep catching them big ones. Stay cool Greg.
Greg you amd Mike need a bass boat and travel around doing team derbies, would make for some awesome footage both you guys in one boat 🤷♂️, it would also reach a bigger audience, us boat guys
My GoPros die after awhile if I use an external battery...unless I shoot at 1080p. Especially once it gets warm outside. I think it's because they are waterproof so heat can't escape fast enough. It's a real problem for me.
Nothing beats sitting here in Northern NV with Snow falling on a Sunday evening while watching Greg out on his Kayak on a sunny day catching a nice limit of Bass. 😎👍
65,000 views and only 2,000 likes from one of the best liked RUclipsrs out there...life of a RUclipsr crazy how hard it is for people to hit that 👍👍 button
Man I loved at time 32:45 you say whoever’s going to win will have adapted and figured something out, and will be someone consistent. Well you were describing yourself Greg!! Your a BADA$$ fisherman Greg. What a finish!! Congratulations and thank you sir!! Wish I could fish like you.
Great monday morning surprise. Thanks for taking the time to make hour long well edited content for us all to enjoy. What a way to turn your day around for a strong finish Greg.
Greg, for food on the yak, definitely a few Sierra Nevada beers, hazy, hummus and crackers, jerky, tortilla wrap sandos, rescue nuts ;), water, dried mango from TJ’s, nuun tablets (I strictly pedal, no motor sadly)…
Man. After the ocean prefish I had yesterday, your video was killer and reenergizing !! Worst fishing day on record for me. Beset with a plague of gnats and flies whenever the wind stopped. And I was over 120 feet of water!!!!!! You would think the moment I would move from spot to spot, that would get rid of them! Nope. These things have evolved into being able to hang on at 49 mph!!!!! &;?’j!!!!!!!! Only when the wind blew would they leave. And the fishing absolutely SUCKED. Thanks Greg for renewing my faith!!!! There are fish to be caught after all!!!! Think I have my old Revo sold this week. Will be getting more modern bleach bottle soon. Tight lines and THANKS!!!! Great PB spot and awesome tournament report!!
I like the snack break. We usually have sandwiches. Occasionally left over cold pizza. Mike was hilarious with his chopsticks. Another great video. You definitely keep us entertained.
Congrats on the strong finish! Your sardine snack brought a smile to my face because my buddy and I eat them all the time and get the same reaction from our friends. Hot sauce is a must!
Speaking of, I've heard that hot sauce is a great bass attractant, too. I read that lots of anglers will "marinate" their swimbaits in it, especially Huddlestons. Put the bait in a plastic baggie with the hot sauce, and then place the entire baggie in a bowl of hot water. The heat will expand the swimbait and allow it to absorb the sauce, and when it cools down, a lot the sauce/scent will be in the bait and will last for a decent amount of time. I haven't tried it yet, but I need to.
Besides sardines, mackerel and herring both with crackers are great. Awesome energizers and protein supplements to hold you over and get you through the day for sure Greg.
SARDINES LOL!!! The next time you go for a can, you may try the ones in water (less greasy than oil) and add crackers/mustard to them. By the way, Mike's chopsticks were very cool! Congrats on getting 3rd Place after a slow start - you figured out the pattern! Another lake, if you're interested in exploring is Camp Far West. We finally had our tournament there. It's beautiful and pretty easy to get to with a large parking lot. The launch area is well-maintained, but small. However, with a kayak it shouldn't be too bad. The downside is the bass are tinier than Berryessa's. (Straight up 80 to 65 in Wheatland.) Keep those videos coming! 😊
Hell yeah congrats Greg! Tough morning but way to turn it around and figure it out. Great video as usual. This is the only youtube channel that I never miss a video.
That morning storm was brutal! I was driving up there that day and once I got to the lake it was non stop raining! Almost turned back home too! Glad I didn't though and tough it out to fish the tournament! Had my first bite once the rain stopped and sun started to pop out from the cloud.
its crazy your fishing post spawn and in NJ its pre spawn the weather has been messing the bite up for me alot. thanks for the content Greg we love watching it.
Greatness! Nice podium spot bruh! Had a cold front down here in SoCal to last weekend. Went out Friday and was only able to beat the skunk with ONE! Went out today with a 70° morning 86° in the afternoon and got 15 in 6 or hours! Nothing huge... Alot of dinky 1 pounders. Crazy what a week can do!
Man did that front change things! I remember telling you I had a big school the day before and everything changed the next morning. Great job adjusting Greg. 🤙
Sardines are awesome, but I'll pack some " lunchables" and sometimes some uncrushable pb&J's. My tournament buddy says I eat like a 3rd grader. It's a light snack because the last thing you want in a long day is to have to tap out for a potty break. Lol Anyhow, great video as always!!
Another great video, used to fish there years ago, really miss those days and all the fun with the tournament guys. Sometimes the nonsense the night of the tournament is the stuff you talk about for ever.......lol 😆
Congrats man!!! I can't tell you how many times I've been watching my surroundings and noticed something that made me change my thinking about how I was fishing and turned my day around. Great video. Thanks for posting!!!
Sardines are a very healthy snack every once and a while. Pair it with some triscuits or cracker of choice is always good. Throw in some trailmix and always jerky of some kind and you're ready for a day on the water or the top of mountain ridge. Awesome video. Berryessa looked great. So many memories of GREAT times at that lake. Way to pull through the nasty weather and the slow start. Turned around for you though!👍🎣🎣🤘🤘 Dutch seems like a solid dude!🤘👍 Made the best and paid the cost. 🍻🍻 🤣🤣
Love watching your tournament videos. Like to see how you approach the prefish and then handle the changing conditions on tournament day. Quality content brother.
One thing that I like bringing as a snack is trail mix as well. Preferably one without chocolate though so there’s not just a ton of melted mess in there. Beef jerky is always a solid choice as well.
Sardine might not be my choice in a kayak shore lunch, but those damn things are great, (and heart-smart). and i caught the tiny bit where you are getting live-scope? damn..poor bass.
Greg, that was a great wknd. Snacks, gotta have Corn nuts Ranch flavor" As alway's unbelievable adjustments you made, and you fished hard. 3rd place finish well deserved. 🙏 😎 🎣
What a great video. Another, well-earned plaque for the wall. Love how it shows a pre-fish can mean absolutely nothing the next day but if you keep your eyes moving, birds will tell a story! Watching you fish the umbrella lure (which is illegal where I am) always is a hoot! It looks crazy, wouldn't even know how to cast that thing. I'm rooting for you to stay in the tournament Greg. Cheers.
Awesome stuff. When u talked about it taking someone to be able to adapt and consistently place well in the tournaments to win I’m like uhhhhh bro that’s you. 😂
Forgot to congratulate you dang it. Congrats on adjusting and nailing another one!!! BTW…..pee fish are a known quantity. ALWAYS throw out while you raise the lake water level!!!!!
Great read on birds & bait! Videos are the best, showing the ups & downs of fishing & how it can change so quickly! Keep up the good work, nice to see a man us his skills& produce results, without livescope, which is alright, but afraid alot upcoming fishermen going to miss out on reliability & self-confidence of reading the water& signs&putting that to positive results!
It's still 35° here in western Washington in the morning so I haven't put the Kayak on the water yet, I bet even the bass are like "wtf" 🤣🤣 this year's weather is nuts. I'm ready to slay. Great video Greg!!! Always look forward to your content. Congrats on the place; hopefully you make it to the tournament in August. Also product placement at 55:58 😂. Tight lines
Watching Greg’s videos had me considering on getting a yak until I seen how much his set up costs 😂 still my favorite to watch good luck in this years tournaments boss !

Just got off work, nothing better than Greg uploading
This is why I love Greg’s videos, no click bait even when he has a reason to unlike most fishing RUclipsrs
Man a PB and placed top 3! Still no click bait! This is why Greg is truly the fishing RUclips GOAT!
LETSSSS GOOOOOOO GREG!!!!!!!!! That was a ROLLER COASTER of emotions to watch i can only imagine how that felt. congrats!
Greg you amd Mike need a bass boat and travel around doing team derbies, would make for some awesome footage both you guys in one boat 🤷♂️, it would also reach a bigger audience, us boat guys

Congrats on finishing 3rd!. You need to make an official SNACKLEBOX for the long days on the water to get some snacking variety.
Great monday morning surprise. Thanks for taking the time to make hour long well edited content for us all to enjoy. What a way to turn your day around for a strong finish Greg.

Kippered snacks go down even easier than sardines esp with crackers. Congrats on the PB spot and 3rd place👍🐟✌
I appreciate the fact you could have split this into almost three videos! Thanks for the vid yet again Greg.
Congrats on 3rd place 🥉 👍
You should grab a 30 inch ice rod and carry it for spots like that first cove in practice. Makes vertical dropping right next to the yak so easy.
Love the tournament stakes. I never go out on the water without a good ol cold cut sandwich.
