Hello! It's been 6 years! ANNNNNND!!!!!! We have hit 100.000 views! I am so unbelievably impressed by it- I was just a random cringey teen on a laptop and windows movie maker at the time, I would have never thought this would ever reach this many ppl! Lots of love and appreciation out to you guys!

I only use Windows Movie Maker (which is total crap, but I am to lazy and broke to buy a good one ) and downloaded every RWBY episode from season 1 to 3. After I chose a song I cut the suitable pieces I need and....yeah that's basically all. Sometimes there is a opening or ending animation or another effect in the scene but it's not a big deal to make AMVs like this.
The biggest problem for me, is that when I have finished an AMV and want to upload it on RUclips I get a couple of Copyright strikes (like yesterday with a REALLY cool AMV). Then the video I worked on for a few weeks is not published and I feel like shooting myself :DDD

How do people edit the colors around, and make everything else monochrome so easily? Do they edit every single frame, or something?
No, no one does that, a lot of editing programs have filters and effects that help immensely. Even a bad program like Movie Maker (as used here) had the effect of rainbow and different monochrome settings. If the filters are not included in a progran to get monochrome effect you simply make saturation of colours go to 0 so that's that
