    "The train scared the poopdeck out of me!" Very juvenile, but also very clever. I can't believe I'm giving credit to Salty's Lighthouse!

      Indeed. You have to admire how the writers loved word play in Salty's Lighthouse. And that one right there got past any possible censors.

      @MarvelMTs 11 месяцев назад +4

      Also, Zug says “big shot” in the “Run Aground” episode which is dangerously close to the word that rhymes with “witch”. And in the SL Hide n Seek episode, Top Hat says “Oh shiprats!”, eerily close to the S counterpart to “Crap”. I am still trying to get over the fact that SL, the thinly veiled little kids show, was closer to swearing than its preteen source material.

    I'm actually quite surprised at how close this episode is to the original. I also really like the idea of Top Hat shaking it off as if it were a dream, i think it's very in character.

    This is my favorite episode and you did an amazing job recreating it. I love how close this is to the actual episode. And Tophat thinking it was a dream is so in character. I'm also pleasantly surprised the ghostly image of Neptune was still part of the Salty's Lighthouse footage.

    • @erinjohnson6142
      @erinjohnson6142 Год назад +5

      Actually, i saw the Salty's Lighthouse episode that it was based on. And the Neptune face was never shown. My guess is The Lucky Tug had digitally remastered that footage himself.

    • @WillCWilson
      @WillCWilson Год назад +3

      @@erinjohnson6142 No, this footage is from the actual TUGS episode. That's how the Lighthouse edits are done; the footage all comes from the VHS rips fans have done over the years of TUGS. None of the footage is from Salty's Lighthouse, just the voice recordings of the actors/actresses from said show.

    Now all we have left are "Bigg Freeze" and "Up River", and it sucks that the Lighthouse edit is gonna be over in a couple days! I'll miss looking forward to new edits being uploaded daily, and checking them out after class at University. I think, of all the "Lighthouse Edits" that have come out, this one is my favorite hands-down, mainly because it's the most faithful to the original story.

    9:55 Theory: So, since in this version, Mr. Boffo and Mr. Socko are still movie producers, do you think they're going to use the sunken ship as a movie prop?

    One thing I've been loving with these Lighthouse Edits is that you use the original OST from TUGS, and it really does work wonders. Especially here at 7:36 when the Galleon does it's sound & light show.

    I think that the people who worked on SLH missed an opportunity. They used the argument that the ship was in an iceberg, which is logical. However, given the two ships that were pulling it, the movie directors, it would make more sense that the explosions and effects Ten Cents and Sunshine saw was a movie being filmed. Either way, this came out very well.

    Ok, LHT ghost Ships epsidoe has met my expectations and the quality of the original as while the focus was with the star fleet and the fear / scary factor was dialed down a lot compared to the original, hearing that beautiful and yet eerie choir when the white fleet is on screen ++, to Neptune’s song and theatrics with the gallion +++. These two were what I was really hoping would happen in the episode, and they did.

    Excellent edit as always Tug! My only issue is that Warrior's major scene in this just happens randomly with no further elaboration on it. It just immediately cuts to Otis with Warrior's moment feeling pointless. Perhaps there was no way to incorporate Warrior seeing the ghost tugs with the Salty's Lighthouse dialogue? I'd like to know the reason behind that. Still a great edit and probably one of my favorites!

    • @TheLuckyTug
      @TheLuckyTug  Год назад +1

      2 reasons actually!
      The first simply is because I couldn't find any appropriate audio of Warrior reacting the right way. There's bytes of him shouting "Oh gosh!" and similar, but nothing that really suited the tone of the scene. Same for Otis.
      So I worked that restraint into the structure of the story. Warrior and Otis not seeing the ghosts is intentional now, with each event that night getting stranger and stranger, building up to the climax (hence the new narrator line "They were soon to find out strange things would start happening") Warrior's the first event, and it's rather silly, which is fitting for him. Otis' is a little stranger, getting spooked by Pete in the shadows. Then Top Hat actually sees a ghost, and it all climaxes with Ten Cents and Sunshine seeing the galleon and Neptune. Otis' line in the final scene also makes sense now, since he (and Warrior) didn't see any ghosts during the night.
