I lived in Washington for 30 years and now a Realtor in SW Florida and I always went boating in Anacortes and the San Juan Islands so why isn't Anacortes and Friday Harbor on your list as they are by far much nicer then the others you mentioned.
I live in Eastern Washington and we have very little crime compared to the westside of the state. In it is too easy why Mercer Island has no crime. Low life criminals can’t afford to go there. You have to be rich to afford to even hang out on Mercer Island. Being an island helps too.
Your facts are wrong, well some of them. Donna Reed doesn't live on Mercer Island. She's been dead for almost 40 years. Paul Allen has been dead for six years. So he doesn't live on Mercer Island either. What research did you do?
Actually, not surprisingly, one of the safest cities to live in the entire country is in WA state and it didn't make this list. That is Point Roberts. It does have a number of drawbacks like no schools and no hospital, so it isn't really a good choice for either families with children or the elderly. You must drive through Canada to get to Point Roberts, so anyone with a serious criminal record has a difficulty getting there. But it is basically a gated community with the gate being manned by border guards. It is mostly populated by Canadian Nationals and people with dual citizenships. (Canada-U.S.) I can see why a realtor wouldn't include it on this list, but I'm pretty sure as far as crime goes it probably beats out all of the cities listed here.
Thanks for watching. I would have to say I don't think of Point Roberts that often because its so remote and difficult to get to. I appreciate the comment.
@@LivinginNCW In addition to the drawbacks mentioned in my other comment, there are many other drawbacks. During the beginning of the pandemic, Canada all but closed its borders so getting to & from Pt. Roberts was brutal. They started a small walk-on ferry service for people who were stranded that went from mainland WA to Pt. Roberts. School busses had to cross two borders and since garbage service crossed the border I heard it was discontinued. I believe there are no hotels or motels and only one RV Park. Only one supermarket, too. I think everything is on septic, as well. We looked into it as a possible bug-out place, but the drawbacks were too much to contend with. It was an interesting trip for us. It was pretty much summed up by a shirt that they sell up there and we saw one resident wearing. The shirt read, "We're all here because we're not all there." I still chuckle at that one. it describes the attitude of the place perfectly. A lot of places are unique, but Pt. Roberts is more unique than most people would want.

To be honest this list could be really long. Anacortes and friday harbor are great little towns.

Lake Stevens is a good choice but realize traffic and continued growth~ great schools and always seems to have fine sports teams~ (Just my thoughts)
Lake Stevens also has the most dangerous roundabout!
Thanks for the addition!
Lake Stevens directly abuts Everett. It is not "25 miles away"
How long is it?
@@LivinginNCW Directly abuts. Lake Stevens touches Everett. Lake Stevens is referred to as "East Everett".
hi there..is yakima safe? i lived there for 2 years back in the late 80s- 87 to 89
I would say every city has it's safe places and the not so safe places. This is a good website to look at. www.neighborhoodscout.com/
Where did you get your list? Where was Arlington on that list?
Good callout! Arlington is a addition to the list. Thanks for the comment!
Donna Reid can’t live there. She passed away in 1986. Paul died in 2018.
True, but they did live there.

Fed way is pretty safe. Not!
That might be on another list. :)
Seattle pretty safe says no one.
Federal Way was great until the 90s when they started building huge apartment complexes changing the socio-demographics of the city. It is a mess now.
