Apple is doing the simulated eye tracking with it's exterior display, use that tech to project that the phone "appears" clear.
Fun fact: Some digital clocks already did this in 1980s. They has a transparent screen and usually the segments are colored in blue or some sort of color. They are pretty cool, you should definitely check it out and probably buy one yourself.
