Phenomenal light. There are a few quirks, like the mount isn't far enough out front nor high enough over the bar to properly mount a phone. They've targeted cyclocomps for mounting. Also the remote is too large and hard to mount somewhere nice. But light ops are great. The low/high beam cutoff is masterful and the modes are sensible and work well.
I recently purchased the EVO1700 and was really impressed with the overall concept and mounting setup but was frustrated trying to bluetooth sync my remote handlebar controller. After 6 attempts I still cannot get the remote buttons to operate the light ? My phone app was able to sync with light but thats not practical to use compared to a operational remote button. I will keep trying but if any tech savy users out there can throw me a bone please reply with a potential fix. I turned off my phone and disabled all the bluetooth device on the second attempt but nothing works. I long press the light master switch and hit both remote buttons to get the flashing blue light but it never went steady? and Getting the light to go into pairing mode is troublesome to?
My suggestion is to try and remove it from the app. Then turn on the light. Then press and hold both buttons on the remote until it flashes blue then hold it next to the light. Let it sit there for as ling as it takes. But it should pair eventually and if not then you might remove the battery from the remote for a few minutes and repeat.
This light looks awesome, just wish it had a replaceable battery. I don't really want to get another light that is useless once the internal battery wears out.
Thanks for your review. Have you used the Outbound Detour. How would you compare these two? I'm trying to decide which to go with. I ride a lot of long distance with night riding. Long battery life and pass through charging (charging while the light is operating) are important specs for me. Thanks in advance for your response.
Thx for the review. Another review states that the body is made of plastic not metal and the only aluminum found is on the reflector. This is evident where the port covers the usb-c and where the removable gopro mount fits in. There are a lot of lights that have the same output with a metal body and fins to dissipate the heat which I'm not sure a plastic housing can handle over a long period of time with the light on.
The white portion is all aluminum with plastic wrapped on the back part that is gray. Then plastic where the clip is. But there is a full aluminum housing around the light.
It isn’t searching from what I understand. It is kinda like a car with remote entry. Low power waits for a signal. In a super stand by mode. I have had the light off for a few weeks and powered it on with no noticeable battery drain.
At 1700L it does give a lot of light. Now at what speed? If you are talking about 20 mph yeah no problem but over 30 you might want to look at the Ray 2600b light or higher. Check it out here magicshine.com/?ref=EpJEWk_kwZszAa
the only thing that bother me is that plastic quick release mount that are prone to breaking. anything else is sweet. I like to Kamehameha those trafic with that 1700 lumen insanity xD.

Love how wide that beam is. I ride on the road at night in Miami, this seems perfect!

We have 3 of these lights, great lights!!!! One of them broke the mount. SJ3D Design makes replacement mounts.
I received mine a couple days ago, it is a game changer. 100% worth the money.

I've seen reviews where people have had issues with the light snapping off it's mounting bracket.

Thank you, I haven’t ever used outbound so in am not sure. All the Magicshine lights seem to charge while in use when they are plugged in.
Agreed...same here. I would need the same from my lights

nice one can you use 2 magic bike light to control
2 light with one remote to turn on 2 light at the same time
Good question I will try that and let you know.
With a wireless remote doesnt it need a certain amount of power to always search or wait for a signal??

I see you have a wahoo on the mount. Does the mount come Garmin and wahoo compatible?
yes the version I received was compatible with both. For the wahoo setup I had to undo two small screws and turn the mount and reinstall them.
What do you think of the size? Big or small?
It is bigger in person than I expected but over all not bad when on the bike. I love the creative design of it
Performance happens to be more important than size😉
Does it give enough light for the high speed on a race bike, on a road which is had no lights?

Does it come with the remote?
Yes, it does come with one. 🙂
Love this product
Does anyone know if Wahoo Bolt computer can be mounted on it directly or if you need any adapter?
You can mount it on there. You have to turn the adapter on top to switch it from the default garmin mount
Does it come with Wahoo mount?
yes the version I received was compatible with both. For the wahoo setup I had to undo two small screws and turn the mount and reinstall them.
Does it come with the remote? Also is the remote wireless?
Yes and it is wireless
When it's time to replace the battery, what type is needed?@@RunBikeMike
@ilovephotography1254 it is a built in battery in this light. Non replaceable.
I'm sorry, I'm was referring about the type of battery for the wireless remote switch. @@RunBikeMike
@ilovephotography1254 yeah it is a 2030 battery.
What functions does the remote have?
You can change modes and light levels with the remote. Also power it on and off

👍👍👍👍
That's nuts to have an app for just a light...I would wished they don't have that to keep all the juice for lighting plus less things to go wrong
You don’t have to use the app. It is just a feature that allows a ton of customization.
meine lädt nicht mehr, eigentlich hat sie noch nie geladen ...
aber ich habe auch selber schuld: warum bestelle ich nur immer wieder in China???
Contact Magicshine it has a warranty on it.
