- Greenspot Puffer VS minnows! Today we do a Live Feeding with my NEW Greenspot Puffer. Greenspot Puffers are from the genus Dichotomyctere, and they are a Brackish OR Saltwater puffer. (CANNOT tolerate freshwater)
After that we feed my Peacock Mantis Shrimp a big juicy Crayfish. and take a look at some of my tanks. Keep Watching to see what happens next!

I just got 2 green spotted juvenile puffers. Your videos helped me a lot on how to make their brackish aquarium! Do you recommend any tank mates for them? Can they have tank mates? Right now I have 2 Columbian sharks with them (temporarily). I’d live a fish that would help with tank clean up. Any recommendations??
Chinese algae eaters I believe. Tank mates like mollies and platys can survive in brackish or salt water

Ive got a green spot puffer named Atticus, hes only a baby at 1.5 inches long, he eats blood worm and ghost shrimp 🍤 he loves chasing them! Good exercise too 💪 👍

Would you recommend any tank mates for spotted puffers at all?
Nothing at all except larger territorial fish, but beware that puffers will still take a chomp out of other larger fish. A tank mate is not recommended when a puffer is with with another fish in a small tank. A pond would be more recommended for it to have tank mates with in it.

I used to work at a aquarium we had a puffer about 2 feet long in one of the first exhibits . I never saw him puff I was told he has no stress just eat and grow . This was 20 years ago I can't imagine how big they could get.
Mbus get around 30 inches and fahaka get 18” those are the biggest puffers

I have only been doing on research these for 1 day as i want to get one. But i read you shouldnt feed them fish?
Even though this reply is late, they are carnivores, they are natural predators that hunt small organisms, they like to eat those because it is natural, it helps sharpen their teeth and keep them sturdy, their favourite foods are snails, shrimps, small crawfish, small fish, and clams
I just picked up 2 of these my self.
I keep mine in a community freshwater tank and he lives with guppy’s lol

the congo ones are so cute and calm but the green ones have a nice color...

Yeah, puffer jaws aren't messing around when they chomp on food. They have been proven to take chunks out of humans, as one particular episode of River Monsters has shown.

that was one species that had like a large tooth that chops stuff up like a bird beak called the fang’s puffer the majority of puffers’s teeth are mostly smaller and built for chopping on crustaceans and barely does damage to humans

I put Green Spot Puffer fish with my African cichlid in same tank and I don't know but most of my fish fins are damaged is the Puffer fish is the reason behind that my brother advise me to get rid of the Green Spot Puffer fish and I don't know why this keep happening fish fins will grow and than get damage again I was thinking that African cichlids are damaging each other fins
