Another thing I did one year was grow my own herbs in my garden, dry them, and make my own organic herbal blends for cooking. My favorite was sausage seasoning.

I make my friends sugar scrubs for their birthdays. I buy fancy jellies through a food co-op super cheap and save the cute jars for my scrubs. I'll also watch after holiday clearance at Walmart to get cheap massage tools for the coming year to put with the scrub. I buy chocolate bars in bulk for super cheap from that food co-op too. I throw it all together so they can have a little pamper time for themselves. Sometimes I'll put it in a basket that I got at a thrift store with a box of tea that I got off the clearance rack. Last year Walmart after holiday clearance had amazing peppermint vanilla tea for only $0.75 a box. The whole thing maybe costs $5, but nobody knows that.

I love that! The gift is so thoughtfully curated & worth so much because of the time you spent thinking about the other person! :)

Another year I bought cheap vodka and made everyone homemade vanilla extract. Vanilla beans are expensive right now, but you can make all kinds of extracts yourself with cheap vodka.
