    Nice bird house. I like it. Thanks for sharing.
    With that old Ridgid table saw, I suggest making a zero clearance blade insert with a splitter. Ya don't want any kick backs of wood flying through the air.

    A very nice project but unsafe for eggs and chicks. Always put a predator block over the access hole, cut 3-4 shallow kerf cuts under the acess hole out side and inside so chicks can climb out when they fledge, , there is no floor drainage. It's good not to paint or stain as they can be toxic and I like that you didn't put in a perch which predators use to reach into the box, I didn't see an access door to clean out and check on chicks.

    Nice Job, like how you did your roofing slats!

    Hi, I love the bird house, but I have a few questions. 1. Where are the air holes for ventilation? 2. How do you get into it to clean it out once a year? 3. Did you paint it? 4. With all the nails and screws you put into it, will the birds get stabbed by all of them sticking through?

    Excellent craftsmanship, and one of the few I have seen where the hole is up high like it needs to be so the fledglings don't jump out until they have enough feathers to fly a little. Do you have a version where it opens to be cleaned out?

      Thank you,,, it has 4 screws on the bottom of the base so the house comes off the base for cleaning.

    Sure would have liked to see how you went about attaching the slats beyond the first row as it is unique compared to others I have seen or done myself.

    How do you keep your wood from binding up being you do not have that knife on your blade?

    I learned a lot from you today, thank you. I would have learned even more if, around 2:55 etc, you had described or illustrated more on your methodology with the stacked dado to notch the logs. Also, when I build my own, I don't think I will round off those corners of the log blanks that go on the inside of the bird house, unless I'm expecting the residents to be so discriminating. Keeping them square may add to the house's weather resistance / comfort and stability ???

    the dado cuts to notch the logs, what size? one side or two?

    • @r.c.d.creations7402
      @r.c.d.creations7402  Год назад

      What ever you cut the logs at, I cut mine at 1inch so the dado would be 1inch and 1/2 deep, only cut on one side, hope this helps!

    A man of few words. I think you would get more subscribers/viewers if you were a bit more engaging with the viewers as you proceed through the steps. Nice birdhouse.

    Good job explaining, and demonstrating the cutting and assembly of your log cabin bird house. It's definitely a sturdy one and should last several years with some reasonable care, and some paint or stain to help it last. Can the bottom be removed to clean out the old nesting material?

    Just wonderful, I have been researching "designs for birdhouses" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Daniliana Birdfly Babar - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my neighbour got excellent results with it.

    There are several components to doing a pro job. One plan I found which succeeds in merging these is the Aviary Magic Method (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most useful info that I've seen. Check out this unbelievable website.
