Hi. I've been a fan since 1990 and it is lovely to see a video like this. Also the first four songs on The Great Escape Artist are great, I'll give the rest of the album more listens to see if it grows on me more and all the videos for the singles for the album are really great.

@@drk321 Both of those statements are untrue. I never understood not knowing about a subject while being obnoxiously opinionated about it. Do you leave biting, severe comments about microbiology too? It’s just music where it’s socially acceptable to be confident about ignorance.

Replacing the creative standout rarely works (Alice in Chains, Journey, Van Halen). Yes Van Halen made money when Sammy joined but they cranked out smarmy pop songs. Now look at the Rolling Stones. Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, Mick Taylor were all replaced and the Stones still put out great content. What if they had a new lead singer? Nirvana? They replaced two drummers. Who would replace Kurt? The Pixies? Kim was easily replaced. Who would replace Black Francis? Humor me with your kindhearted reply.
Erics replacement still delivered notable bass lines and Janes Addiction still put out compelling music. Who, all knowing one, could replace Perry? He is one of a kind. Eric is not one of a kind.

@@drk321 Name one good track Jane’s Addiction recorded without eric. There isn’t one because Eric was the primary creative songwriting force insofar as riffs and chord progression. Also notice Jane’s often doesn’t have choruses and the hook relies on his hypnotic riff orientated bassline like Joy Division and New Order. You can get other singers to sing Jane’s song as easy as you can get other bass players. Josh, the former guitarist for Chili Peppers, performed a version of “I Would For You” that sounds better than when Perry sings it these days.
Ultimately you can’t artificially create chemistry as its too rare of an event ib music.
