High Quality Flatware Box Pt 2

Part 2 of a great silver plate flatware box, I hope you all enjoy. This is an unusually high quality box, and it's normally not this easy. I know I spent a long time discussing the fish knife and the fish fork, but I wanted to stress that it is in a very unusual form, as most silverware is either all brass or all silverplate/ all silver. Very rarely is it silver plate handled with a brass blade/ tines. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% sure that it is French, but I have found two very similar examples, (one on First Dibs, and the other on Etsy). There are some similar surviving examples in Vermeil and sterling, but I could only find two of those as well.

@@richcincotta6702 I am going to look at it again a bit closely, but apparently olive tongs are also a thing to look for. Those seem to be 3 prongs though.

@@richcincotta6702 And I suppose these came from a time where actually having ice at hand was a sign of wealth. I heard that people used to ship giant blocks of ice from the North. It was a huge trade.

It's a great pattern. Holloware is pretty rare, and I just found the water pitcher and a pair of candle holders this week.
