Great photos of a more orderly time. I used to travel on the 61 bus service when I worked on the docks in the 1970s until I got a car. The bus terminus was at Seaforth and was the link for those who lived in the Fazakerly, Walton, Kirkby area, and Norris Green en-route to Aigburth. The old Atlantean bus's were far better than the bone shakers they have today. Most of the 70s and 80s bus stock were sold to Asia after the privatisation of public transport in the 80s. Some however were bought by ex drivers who set up their own companies and did extremely well
I've been watching a few of these 'old Liverpool' videos lately and that is exactly what came to my mind. I got the 19 bus out of the city centre recently and made a point of looking properly at the pavements and the shrubbery etc as we went by. To say that this city is a s***hole is an understatement!
