When I was a wee lady my dad was a fireman. I got to open and close the doors as they left. As I got older, they let me reset the Gamewell alarm system and house lights. I was 10 feet tall on those days. I ended up being a FF/paramedic for 10 years. Best job I ever had.
I met that officer that was in the beginning when I was there he was super nice and giving me pointers to getting on the department when the time comes
A fire commissioner in the 1930s was a member of a family who had the largest shipping firm on the Great Lakes, and started having green lights on the right (starboard) side of the engines. He was also the person who came up with red doors on fire stations to make them "stand out" for walk-in emergencies.

The Tower ladder is amazing and engine 108 and eng 94
That tower must be 25+ years old but look how fast he can bolt out of that station. Must have a big detroit motor running it.
I love how he was so kind on telling you that!

Their house is getting repaired so they are gonna be at E108 for a year.
What’s the green light mean on the fire truck 🚒
I was told it means safe harbor by a engine officer at house 13
