- Just by taking a side street in London can lead you to amazing restaurants - like this Indian restaurant in London, not to be missed.
Authentic Indian cuisine about a 5 minute walk from London Tower Bridge certainly not to be missed.
Darren John likes his Indian food hot, and the garlic chilli chicken was a little fire cracker.
Off the charts!

Another class vlog Darren , that meal looked amazing and was presented beautifully.... I have had a chilli chicken in the past but way too hot for me these days ...🥵 madras is my limit now lol lol. The Sag Aloo looked so good, in fact it all did ...one of the best ...hope you have cooled down now . Im so looking forward to seeing you in Tenerife ... have a great flight ✈🛩🥂🥂 😃 x
Thank you Myra
Fly out tomorrow 👍🙂
Hi Darren, great presentation which would make your appetite even greater.
From 1965 to 72 I was a tank soldier. 3 years was spent regimental recruiting with another one year for the Corps. During this time we had a Chieftain tank on a transporter with the two drivers along with us also a lot more kit for display etc. These two tank transporter drivers went to every Indian Restaurant they could find in every town and City we visited with a challenge to the proprietors that they could eat any curry put before them. They would order approx 6 chappatis each, get through as much they could then wrap the rest in the chappatis and eat them for breakfast FFS ! One night I happened to be in the same restaurant with them. I was the one who used to drive the tank on and off the transporter. One them challengeed me to finish his curry off, he didn't mind losing his breakfast. So I did. It was the hottest currey I'd ever had, but finished it off with surprising ease. The next morning I experienced the same heat as the curry exited as it did when it went in :) NEVER AGAIN PMSL :)
Great story Tony, the hardest part is always the day after....... when your body isn't used to it
Wow ....
Top 👍🔥
Awesome
London has a lot of Indian restaurants. Where I live , we have a lot of Indian restaurants but not as much and with so much selection as a general rule. Definitely will eat some Indian when I get to England. Great review !
Oh, yes, have fond memories of British Asian Curries! I always tried Madras strength curry or Jalfrezi Balti, etc.
Never went beyond that, because Phal and Vindaloo were way too hot and can damage your stomach if are an acidity-prone patient suffering from hyperreflux and/or nasal dripping caused by the rhinitis.
But, yes, my favourites inside an Indian, Pakistani or Bengali curry joints have always been the following =>
1. Lamb Biryani
2. Prawn bhuna
3. Grilled tandoori prawns
4. Saag with cottage cheese
5. Jalfrezi with any kind of meat
6. Mixed meat grill sometimes (but dont enjoy the medium rare or slightly less uncooked kebabs they sell at some of these joints).
7. Butter chicken
8. Garlic naan or Butter naan
9. Pappadoms with chutneys as starters
10. Maybe chapli kebabs which is the Pakistani variant of a hamburger prepared by the people of the North in KPK province (not many available in London, but, you find a lot in Birmingham, Coventry, Manchester and Bradford Pakistani Food Outlets)
11. Sometimes Rogan GOSH recipe with lamb meat
12. Kulfi (mango or pistachio flavours) as deserts
13. carrot halwa
14. Mango or strawberry lassi as my beverage. Beer gives me a lot of gas so I avoid drinking that with Brit Asian curries. Brings the food up and spoils the appetite.
Let me know your thoughts, please.
Thanks and happy eating ;)
It certainly looked the business. Feckin starving now!
👍😉
Thank you for that Darren 👍
Hey darren..thanks for this

Couldn’t have been that hot Darren judging by the speed you shovelled it down with the serving spoon !
Depends on your tolerance John 🙂

It really looked amazing 🥰
Off the charts Susan
Definitely going to try that place 👍🏻
Please do!
Great video buddy, as usual. Very calm and relaxing with great looking food........they just need to sack the sign writer!!
😂
Looked a classy establishment, and the choice offered of garlic chilli chicken is my go to curry. Only criticism being you did not say how much it cost, and for such a nice restaurant they could have had menu proofread ! What on earth are warps ?
I don't usually mention prices on my channel - which is why I film the menu 👍
Good one mate that looked 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks 👍
Mouth watering here...
So good Darren
@@DarrenJohn It looked it. I love a good curry, may have to pay them a visit next time I'm up that way!
I really shouldn’t watch these videos when I’m hungry 🥺
Haha snap
😂
Hiya Darren, another enjoyable video. Perfect music. Good food. It looked off the charts. Another nice place to try. Thank you for sharing. Have a great time in Tenerife. You will need another holiday after you finish this one. Stay safe.
Thank you Nicky - didnt have chance to reply to messages while I was there
@@DarrenJohn Yes, you were a bit busy. Lol. You need another holiday now. To get over this one. :D Hope your throat is ok. Take care.
Hello Darren another fantastic video there are so many Indian restaurants that are just average at the most but this looks like a really good one it's my wife's birthday in September and while I'm at work she looks after my Mother who has Alzheimer's so I want to take her somewhere special and she loves Indian food now that restaurant is only a 42 bus ride away from me so I might take her there my wife is also a subscriber to your channel so thank you and congratulations on getting over 6k subs
Thank you so much, if you get a table at this place, I hope you have a great experience 👍🙂
@@DarrenJohn she better be nice to me or I will take her to the palace cafe
hey my mum is enjoying your vlogs have fun in the sun
Thank you
Your mixed starter looked really good mate your face was going red raw near the end of your meal lol😂😂😂😂😂
😅
Looked lovely.
Do they do a wimps version with a miniscule amount of Chilli 🌶 🤔 🤣
One way to put me off a restaurant is when it's not busy and they take ages.
I've got to mention the quality of the video and the editing. Really good!
Thank you Simon, I'm sure they have mild curries too
Missed this first time round... But it doesn't matter..
Another great food review Darren....
Thank you for catching up Catherine
Great vid Darren city spice or red chilli
City Spice

Lovely Indian restaurant Darren. Food presentation was excellent Bit too spicy for me but you would be well able for the Phall 🔥in Tenerife lol . Thought the prices on the menu were very good too
Have a safe trip over to Tenerife & look forward to your fun vlogs there 👍👍xx
Thank you Anne. It was such a lovely place - food was off the charts. I really enjoy restaurants where the staff have a passion for their product
@@DarrenJohn agree love good service & presentation & good quality We will book Tandoori Hut in October to see Harry Enjoy your Tenerife experience xx
That vlog was so calm without Lee. Lol. Loved the music also. And most importantly the food looked delicious. Im making king prawn korma tonight. Not as hot as your curry! Cant wait to see you in Tenerife. 👍
And the way you film the food is an epicurian's dream. 👍
Hope you enjoy
And Darren doesn't need Lee... Who is very over the top on reviews...
love Darren's reviews... The music was so calming....
Loved video Darren , keep them coming
Thanks Pat
Not really into hot food, but looked very nice. Your vlogs are just pure class Darren
You're very kind Thelma
You look blushed lol
Can't understand why I'm getting so much joy watching you eat lol
Great place Richard
I'm on the south West Coast. Very lucky some great Indian restaurants here
Hey Darren agreed with Allan's comments. You're better on your own, and wow that food looked off the charts imo! Nine out Of ten from me, which I don't say often as u know ! Needed some raita and lime pickle with that main though, take care in tenerife love Paula in sussex xxxx
Very kind Paula, thank you
Very nice .l love my curry medium. But with more sauce
Cant beat a nice curry
Yes me two 👍
Looked a great curry :)
So good
Food and service looks very good, watching this as a tuck into a birthday curry of butter chicken, peshwari naan and some onion bahjis from my favourite local takeaway. 😋
Happy birthday to you

Tonight i ordered Chinese didn't agree with me but wa wonderful.....will stay clear in future
Trip to London next month. We are staying nearby. Been looking for an Indian restaurant to visit. This looks great. Wanted to try something away from Brick lane, off the tourist strip.
You will enjoy 👍🙂
Wow food looked great and presented beautifully...wish Lee was with you having a hot curry 😅🤣😂🔥 🤯 Looking forward to your Spanish vids..Take care Darren 😘
Thanks Maureen
Hello Darren 👋
😀
That's another gem you've found. Added to my list!
👍
Looked very nice mate, but I don't think you showed us La Quinta! 👌😊
I don't show the bill very often, I'm all about the food
Surprised as a self proclaimed curry connoisseur you’ve never had a garlic chilli chicken before . Yeh it’s hot, it’s not that hot .
That looked really good. Sag Aloo is not a fave of mine as I don’t like spinach. You should try a Korma one day. I know it goes against your principle of being a heat seeker but a Korma has a wonderful flavour when done right.
Btw have you heard of a chicken joint called Cluck Yeah! near Kew Bridge Station? Make a stop there sometime. Great tasting burgers and great fries and great prices. 👍
I love korma, you are right - the flavour is amazing, however, I would only have it as a dipping sauce
Living here in Mexico I do miss Indian restaurants, my God my mouth is dribbling now, I wanna come home for a Ruby 👍👍👍
👍
Darren the meal looked beautiful but i was just wondering how much that set you back.
I really dont remember Will - but I would go back because it was so good
Enjoyed this one thanks Darren. Have you recovered from Tenerife yet lol
Not yet Natalie 🙂
My voice has still gone 🤷♂️
@@DarrenJohn rest up 🙉🙉
Nothing like a nice hot Ruby, but like you say must be able to taste the chicken.
Great video as always Dazzla, keep em coming.
Thank you 😋
Darren what did that yellow chutney taste like please let me no it looks Devine wow
So good Kate
Thank you for getting back to me
Loved the video Darren will you be vlogging some videos or will lee be doing in Tenerife
one or two 👍
@@DarrenJohn can't wait 👍
I enjoyed this video. Food was piping hot and fresh, very well presented. Im pleased you dont do all the thumb nail photos. I find them boring. I wonder if the restaurant does vegan options. I have started cooking some lovely vegan indian food at home which i really love. I make chappatis etc. I really love Indian food. Thank you lovely video.
Thank you Debbie
Glad you enjoyed it
Liked the look of that Darren, too many Asian restaurants don't adhere to the hot description on the menu and you tend to go away underwhelmed.
Would love a crack at that, but no.1 on my list would have to be the Curry Hut @ Chrisp St Market..... I'd be there every day if I didn't live in York.
Both amazing curries Bob
Off the charts
@@DarrenJohn Thanks for the uploads Darren.
