- Hardcore History podcaster Dan Carlin explains how he started the podcast, his process when making episodes and, ultimately, why history is important, while he guesses quotes from his most famous podcasts, 'Blueprint for Armageddon,' 'Wrath of the Khans,' 'Death Throes of the Republic,' and more. His newest series on the story of Alexander the Great, 'Mania for Subjugation,' is out now.
Dan is one of the great storytellers of our time.
Today’s best surprise: Dan unexpectedly on youtube!
Dan is a national treasure. Hands down greatest story teller of our time.
Been a loyal listener to Hardcore History since Dan started 'Death Throes of the Republic'.
This is so much better than I thought it would be from the title! I thought it would just be watching Dan play a guess and check game, but it actually feels more like an actual short episode. Love it!
Blueprint for Armageddon changed my life, got me to go to university to study history and leave my home town, met lots of people and my partner there. Crazy how different my life would've been without this one podcast
Nobody can paint a picture like Dan Carlin can
Ive fallen asleep to dans voice pretty much every night for the past 15 years
Started listening with his “Blueprint for Armageddon” series, which I still think is perhaps his best work, but every subsequent podcast has managed to teach me at least one thing per episode that I didn’t know…as a historian! Hats off to you, Dan!
Again, and again.. Dan never gets old!!
God I fucking love Dan Carlin
I met him at his event in LA - and by met I mean in the restaurant next door afterwards I told him how much he means to me & how important it is to teach history to our children! He was very gracious.
Always enjoy Hardcore History. You can find lectures and historical texts in black and white, but Dan puts history in color like no one else.
I love the long form pods from Dan. His story telling is perfect and having a back catalog of his work has helped me through the long days at my own job. Thanks Dan, you rock
I love his content. There are long gaps between his podcasts usually, but always worth the wait. Thanks for doing this video.
So cool to see Dan on here. HH is absolutely amazing. I wish he had read the quotes in the quote voice he uses on the podcast.
I’ve been listening to Dan for like 15 years, this is somehow my first time seeing his face. 🤯
Dan spinning interesting yarns after simply being asked to identify a quote is why he is a master of storytelling.
What a fine thing to wake up to today! Dan Carlin is my favorite podcaster. I wish he would do Common Sense again. We're in some pretty weird times. Would love his take on the Supreme Court decisions of late. "End quote"
Can wait for this latest show about Alexander to develop! Dan is the BEST storyteller we have today! Thank you Dan for the Hundreds of hours of entertainment and enlightenment you have provided me over the years! 🙏🏻
