    That was not cool benching Sears like that. He is a good kid & it hurts morale & leadership. Pride & egos are bad in these situations. He only shot 5 shots. Yes bench, but not the whole half. He is hurting Sears stock for the pros. So sad.

      It didn't look like it hurt morale and leadership last night. Oats knows his team and Sears is tough enough to handle it. Oats sent a message to the whole team that it's time to stop flipping the defensive effort switch on and off and play hard every minute you're on the floor.

      Coach knows his team better than you do. Clearly he thought the effort wasn’t there, not just from Mark, but from other guys on the team. Having played basketball for 15 years through HS the one thing that you can control is your effort. Sometimes you have to send a message not just to your best player, but to your team that nobody is above the program. Mark can handle it, and he responded by playing well against MSU
