You've got to love Jerry, for all his faults. His devotion to this was very touching.

I can't think about any specific "fault" I just think that he was a human being just like you and me. He was allowed to make mistakes! He devoted his life to others (the public and the kids with the telethon). I see mainly good in him rather then "bad". America loves to hate on him! I don't get it! LOL

He was an untalented scumbag. Not funny at all, just loud and annoying.

Sinatra and Butera on the same stage was something magical! Two Italians rubbing off on each other!

Any idea what the tune was that Buddy and the band played, can't remember hearing it before on record or in concert. Really roaring chart, great playing by the band and of course Buddy. That Killer Force band was Buddy's favorite i think.

I’ll give Jerry this… Like style of upfront persuasion. He should have got Elvis on the show! The ratings would have hit the roof!

The Jerry Lewis telethon could of gone on until now if the MDA would not have fired Jerry Lewis big mistake Jerry Lewis would have done his last telethon in 2012 and the next year Tom Bergeron would have became the host of the telethon and number two keep it at 21 hours with station breaks that would have kept it going to now and this year's telethon would be titled the Jerry Lewis Memorial telethon starting this year and every after till the end of time.

Eric Purkey .... Or at least until they find a cure, which is/was really the whole reason for the Telethon in the first place.

But MDA finally realized that with hundreds of other channels and streaming outlets like RUclips, Netflix, etc. already at our disposal, 21 hours for a telethon would be so 1970’s (when it was just ABC, NBC, CBS, and one or two independent stations).
No wonder why the telethon was downsized to six hours in 2011 and finally two hours from 2012-14 (as the Show of Strength).
