ive seen so many of these lists where it's just generic/already popular apps thank you for showing some actually interesting stuff ima go ahead and look into these further
the amount of applications available on Linux really made me fall in love with the OS, I really could never go back to Windows, it would just be a downgrade
Man, I like your channel. You so remind me of Brodie Robertson. He's one of my fav Linux teachers or more Linux Advocates. Wish more LA's would show & compare Apps, just like you did.
One of the first things I did when moving to Linux was look into music players. I probably wasted decades only using Windows Media Player before upgrading to VLC on Windows which isn't the best way to browse your music library since you're still doing that through a file explorer and not an in app library. I ended up settling on Strawberry and now I can't view my Linux experience without it. Being able to easily direct which folder for it to scan for music and then populating a media library in app easily got me buying more digital music to increase my library. One app I discovered after hanging out in the PikaOS discord that I also now love is the XIV Launcher off of flathub for playing Final Fantasy 14 since I'm now giving WoW a rest and playing catch up in FF14. Was using Lutris to run it until they mentioned how much better they liked the stand alone flatpak version so I gave it a go and like it.
How do you make Strawberry to add subfolders? I have a lot of nested subfolders with one or two songs and I have to navigate to the last subfolder in a tree and add songs one by one, I can't add a folder containing subfolders to the library. (I hope I explained it properly, English is not my first language)
@no-prophet I'm not exactly sure what you're describing. I have a folder on a separate HDD that I call Music and just select that. Inside that I then have a folder for every Artist, inside each of those folders are folders for each album. I haven't had any issues with Strawberry detecting the whole tree
@@SpikeSlania I was describing exactly that, at first it didn't work, it wouldn't import subfolders, so I had to import songs one by one, but now it works somehow. Probably I did something wrong.
