Welcome to new viewers and all of you who are returning! We had some great questions about spinning and knitting with Angora rabbit blends, so I thought I'd share two links to previous videos where I talk more in depth about the subject, at least my experience:
    • Spinning Angora fiber,...
    • A Wool Sandwich - blen...

Thank you Margo, I think it's the first time in very many years this has happened (and probably because the Shetlands don't eat nearly as much lol Okay, end of March for sure ❤️

Loved seeing the sheep waiting... the Border Leicester sheep I use to have when I had a hobby farm was a grumpy girl too.. But OH, her lustrous locks were amazing

If we go to the end of March, maybe I'll get my spinning finished. After four years of dodging Covid, it got me. I've been sick and in bed for two weeks, and unable to do any spinning. I’m finally starting to feel better. Maybe I'll get to my wheel by the weekend. harpingJanet

Loved your socks and the very rounded toes. What pattern do you use to knit the rounded toes?

I have been binge watching your podcasts and trying to get caught up. I have so many questions to ask you about your life there on your sheep farm. In five years I will be turning 65 and drawing down my Old Age Pension. It won't be much. Three years ago I started on a plan for a better retirement and self-sufficiency. We have already buillt an off-grid cottage on a small holdings yard. We just need to decide on infrastructure now. I want sheep, he wants pigs. In various videos you mention that the sheep have to pay for themselves and that comes from the sales of fleeces. I wonder do you also sell the lambs for meat? You don't just have shetland sheep, you also have Corriedale mix right? Is this for the dual purpose of the breed? I am wondering what the monthly cost breakdown is per sheep if you know this. Do you sell your knitted garments as well? I wonder if it might be simpler for me to just find a source for good handspinning fleeces and process my own wool but that doesn't solve my meat problem but I am considering chickens as well. I can't eat pork and I don't want cows. I hope that in upcoming videos you might delve deeper into some of these items that is your lifestyle. Though I don't really want you to get away from the spinning and knitting because these also are passions of mine. I find your lifestyle fascinating and think this is exactly the path I am wanting to go down.

Yes, the sheep are for meat as well. I'm going to be doing a video sometime this spring talking about where I'm at financially and from a management standpoint with the sheep, what I need to change, etc. It sounds like you have a good start to your goal!

Thank you for the update! I just turned the heel on my second sock so I’m actually relieved to have a little more time. I have a few other projects going on, so that is a bit of relief - not that I was feeling panic or anything! I know that’s not the intention here. 🐑🧶❤
