Mad to think how long he's been around. Watching this reminded me that he played in the same team with the likes of Martyn Williams, Shane Williams, and Stephen Jones. Feels like an age ago. He's one of the last of that early 2010's golden crop. Once Faletau and North finally retire it will feel pretty strange not having any of that lot around. Delighted he finally got to 100 caps. Would have been a shame if he missed that.
Absolute hero! Courageous as anyone under a high ball. A determined tackler with a boot to conjure with. Affectionately known to my family as full shilling, and worth every penny.
Fitting tribute to a brilliant player. Metronomic off the tee and as Gatland said, the best defensive full back in the world in his prime. Forgot how rapid he was in his early years before the injuries slowed him a little
I remember the kicking masterclass he showed during one of the Lions tour games. It was either the Force or Combined Counties game. He absolutely nailed everything from every direction and distance in that game. Its a shame injuries took their toll on his pace but superb at the back regardless
Basically "Great catch by Halfpenny", "Great try saving tackle by Halfpenny" and "Great try and burst of speed from Halfpenny". Like Alun Wyn, he recovered from so many career-ending injuries and yet STILL managed to play in his final RWC. A great of the game, respected by every player and fan. He will be missed but totally deserves a chance to move on with his life without some 6ft 5 monster forward barrelling towards him like a brick wall every Saturday 😂 Diolch yn fawr bach !
Outstanding player for Wales. I remember at one point in his career for approx. 2-3 years he was the best defensive full back in the world! Enjoy retirement Leigh! An absolute warrior
Shame his international career was effectively ended by a cheap shot from Kerevi that somehow went unpunished. Always one of my favourite players and will me missed by all in Wales
He had a great boot on him and was fast, feel bad cos he was so good but didn't play as much when liam williams was in the squad, a but like damian McKenzie in that sense cos he is outrageously good but beuden Barret is rlly good aswell. 💚🤍🧡 Coming from an irish fan

I think bulking up didn’t help his pace either but, likely a necessary trade off to move from wing to fullback where he had to defend on his own more.
LEGEND for Wales and a good friend of the tooth fairy 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great player, diolch am bopeth👏
Scarlets legend what a brillant player
Leigh halfpenny such an idol
I’m not afraid to say he’s the most fantastic player I’ve ever seen, he’s been my hero growing up. And I’m French 🇫🇷
As an Englishmen it was always a sight to watch Leigh halfpenny play def a welsh legend
Welcome to the crusaders ❤
Crusader in the making. He'll fit in just fine. 🏉 2024🏴🇳🇿💯👍🤝
He will be missed
A giant of Welsh rugby, a huge heart and stones as big as coconuts.
Was unfortunate not to see him in this WC- I do see Cai Evans a future prospect though
He played against Portugal
0:44 😮
Obviously can only tackle on one shoulder 🙈 but always fearless on the pitch💪
the exchange rate of this currency must be cosmic cause I reckon he is worth way more than half a penny

Welcome to the mighty crusaders
Tell everybody he is my cousin 😀
by the way he's my 5th cousin
Always tackled with his head on wrong side and lacked pace or excitement in later years but great servant
There we are then
Massively overrated player
By what measure?
