Unless you were limited to a book shelf space , I think it makes sense to spend an extra £200 so £999 ( at the time of reply ) to purchase the Luminia II I think they are very attractive speakers & the 2K crossover to a top quality 29mm tweeter should ensure a smooth quality yet detailed sound 🔊 🙂
Sonus faber lumina 1 may be very attractive proposition for those who would like to place them near the wall. There is only one speaker missing- popular Dali Menuet.
so . . . we use a good transistor amp, like a Parasound or Marantz . . . good source, a good DAC, and HD streaming, to compensate for ulta-smotheness, and ad definition and impact for small mid-woofer. Would be excellent, w/ good sub.
I just had a demo of the Lumina 5 column speakers via McIntosh MA 8900 Integrated, blue sound node 2i, and Qobuz. I was pretty much speechless after the demo. Fabulous composure, dynamics, and what a wonderful finish. The port is down-firing and the spikes are very well made. The wenge finish is the best in my opinion. Again the finish on these speakers is really a plus point. I don't know what the materials are used on covering but you can't help wanting to caress them. Made In Italy. :=)
I'd think that the soft layer under the bottom of these speakers is to prevent or reduce transfer of vibration to the surface these are placed on. Even if there is no cabinet coloration at all, accelerations of the drivers may make the entire cabinet move and a bookshelf or cabinet might get acoustically excited by that.
Im having huge trouble finding the perfect match for my little TV setup. I have a Kef 10" base hided away smooth, a 55" The Frame TV and a turntable. Mostly I will look at TV and listen to musik through Spotify connect and Apple music över WI-FI. Do you think Sonus Faber Lumina 1 is a good match with the Bluesound Powernode 2. 80w / ch ??
Thanks for your reviews, which I always watch. I know you're focused on equipment, and I know the musical clips you play are very short -- but we're all in this because we love music. Could you please let us know what we're listening to in those clips? I'd appreciate it very much.
Sadly yes I am maxed out right now for this group test with other speakers here to follow on from it :) Sorry I will see if I can speak to Canton as I don't have any relationship with them currently and it would be good to fix that. Thanks
@@PursuitPerfectSystem I already have NAIM UNITI QUTE 2 and NAP 100 which I can combine potentially ! I need some help trying to put it together between new pieces and gear that I already own.
@@PursuitPerfectSystem I was referring to the rubber pads that come with the LS50s. I suppose Kef leaves the placement of the pads to the users, because stands have different size tops. Ideally the LS50s should be on stands with a top size that doesn't protrude past the speaker bottom, because early bounces off the top of the stand (or even worse on a table) will negate the magic that comes from the LS50's curved baffle.
Thanks for the objective review, I have been thinking about auditioning these speakers for my home office. I read another review that said the Lumina's needed lots of power. Did you try different wattage amplifiers?
No just the one and it is a pretty big amp into 4 ohms 290w of good quality solid state. They didn't seem to want anymore power than any of the other speakers in this group test if that helps
@@PursuitPerfectSystem Good to know, quality sound and small size are my challenges since I would like all of this to fit in a smaller space. The Wilson TuneTot is an option but $$$$, Currently have Decware Tiny Radials with an REL TZero sub, always looking at options.
I have these, in my collection of Sonus Faber speakers, and as with ALL sonus faber speakers, it’s definitely leather, not faux leather, and certainly not paint.
Oh, of course. I didn't think of that. I wonder about one more speaker in this category and it is Audiovector QR1. I would really want to hear your thought about QR1, and Lumina 2, of course. Thank you for the quick response.
It’s literally LEATHER wrapped all round the box of the lumina’s dude.. ugh.. the WHOLE box even under and inside the bottom port(it’s not just a plinth) it’s hand made/crafted by a guy in Italy. The baffle is a double baffle also with waveguides acoustically decoupling the front of the baffle.. cmon, textured?! 🤨😒
This is clearly a big project Terry. Thanks for the huge amount of work and time you are devoting to your viewers!
Bought the Lumina II’s and must say. Winner!

Such great speakers!
Thumbs up for the share production quality of this and the other channel reviews, in addition to very good and accurate editorial content.
Can you do a review and sound demo of the lumina ii?
Loving this comparison group! Great idea… excellent reviews!

Few different ways to go just depends on what you like and your room acoustics too I feel
yes . . . that, also.

Good review and thanks. Would be nice to have B&W 706 s2 on the list

Would love to see a comparison between dynaudio emit 20 and the lumina 2s
Me too

Yeah should all be listed with links in the video description box
Is it too late to suggest the Canton 836? I believe it's in this price range

@@PursuitPerfectSystem oh well, thx anyways!
what do you think about LUMINA 1 and TAGA Harmony HTA-25B ?
Please if you can help me, i have a Marantz pm8006, is the lumina 1 good for them or....another? Thx
Hi Terry, what's that Mid Tweeter Mid speaker to the left of the lumina in the group photo? Thanks!
Next review this Sunday is about that speaker Ophidian Audio Mojo 2
yes i'm looking for a computer desk set up including headphone listening....I like the chord TT2 and M scaler will they drive these speakers ?
The TT2 is not really an amplifier and it would probably be better with higher efficiency speakers

Hi Glyn that is the one on one help I would give to Patrons as a thank you or really what dealers are supposed to do :)
You are supposed to add the rubber feet on the LS50s. They are much better than a piece of felt.
Rubber feet were on the stands

These comparisons are getting crazy.
can these be a good solution for a computer desk system ?
I think so yes they are small enough I have another speaker of the same size review coning next fwiw as means of a comparison if that will help you.
Is the frontgrill included?,
Yes
Why Lumina 1? Why not Lumina 2?
It didn't exist at the time
