I work in a HiFi shop in Montreal. I’m actually a Sonus Faber dealer. These speakers punch way above their weight, great looking and forgiving placement. I agree whole heartedly with the review. That being said they sound WAY better on the Bluesound Powernode compared to the Sonos AMP without even considering the Bluesound does 24/192 lossless FLAC support via Tidal HiFi. These speakers shine with Tidal and Bluesound. My favourite Little Condo setup with a Rega PL 1 plus turntable …small profile, great sound, beautiful aesthetics
I have these lumina 1, I listen to a lot of electronic music, I find the bass excellent however I do not listen to my music at very loud volumes, so this works for extended listening sessions in my bedroom area. It’s all about the quality of the sound! Thanks for a great review on a great speaker.
SonoS is spelt the way it is because it’s a palindrome and helps with speaker placement as it will always read correctly. Son-us Fah-behrr is an Italian esoteric brand producing speakers for nearly 40 years, so they’re doing quite nicely thank you!!
Hi Glyn, yes I can imagine them as good performing desktop speakers. You'll need to power them with an amplifier of course so that will need to be taken into account.
Bought the Lumina II’s and wow! Tight, clean sound! Can’t believe I finally own these beautiful speakers!

Really enjoyed the video Jonathan - thanks for your take on the Lumina I and for such an insightful overview of the brand. Nice work!

Sonos also sells planned obsolescence products whereas Sonus faber can last a lifetime.
Thanks for the video! Got our first Sonus Faber (Lumina I) after watching this video! And what mic is that?
Sonus Faber is an extremely well known and respected company…not in the ‘lesser known’ category.
Yea I don't know anyone who's into hifi who would consider SF a "hidden gem".
Since 1983 so just the 40 years then.
Sonus Faber are a warm listen as are Bang and Olufsen both great brands
A brilliant take on the Sonus faber Lumina I.
Good looking and possibly good sounding
Very interesting, but it seems like your microphone placement is too high, isn't it?
please rewiew the new sf sonetto 1 or 2 g2 it comes out these July
will these work as a good desktop speaker for my computer desk ?

@@smarthomesounds I have a NAIM uniti 2 from my old set up which I can use to drive them and use at my desk ? will they drive them well
Hi, Can you confirm if the Sonetto II are much better sounding than these Lumina I speakers for a medium size room? TIA
Yes, and by a good margin. Lumina 1 will be too small for a medium room.
Sonus vs Focal 🙏🏻👍🏻
Your description says Sonos🤦🤦
Cmon Sonus Faber is not well known? Are you joking? B&W are hard to beat price performance wise? Whaaaat? Hey Salesman
Sonus vs piega
Not well known?Huh?
Fake leather, NOT real, so don't worry about the cows 😅
