Does this inspire you to enter your first or next triathlon? Which one will it be? Let us know 👇
I'll do a double full if mark will hug me at the finish.
Doing my first 7 days from now, sprint distance.
I’ve done four, last one 3 years ago. Now I’m fat, but inspired to start training again!
@@geoff6195 4? That’s f** crazy!! I’m overwhelmed just thinking in doing one!
I’m looking for a training plan to commit myself to.
Challenge Roth!!!!!
I am so proud of this young man just watching these videos makes me want to and I did cry QUINN GASKELL I AM SO PROUD OF YOU MY DARLING GRANDSON I LOVE YOU xx
🥲
Knowing the commitment it takes, the resolve you must have to train and just how hard it is to break through pain barriers to finish makes this all the more fantastic. So proud of my Son. Inspired me to run one with him next year. @Mark and @Alex thank you for making the race day such and amazing day. We wouldn’t have been able to get around and know where to observe Quinn’s progress without you. An emotional day. Thanks to all the team at GTN for sharing Quinns inspirational journey. Go challenge yourselves, get out of the comfort zone and see what impact this could have on your lives.
I felt really emotional towards the end watching this. Big congratulations to Quinn. Amazing achievement. He is a real inspiration. Thank you GTN for showing the journey. I'm doing my First ironman next year 2023 in cork.
Well done Quinn, your an inspiration to myself to get out there & do my first triathlon. Honestly mate, loved your positive mentality throughout, well done. Smashed it mate!
Awesome! Good luck with your first race 🙌
Well done Quinn, my biggest respect! I am proud and honored to be part of that journey, I was driving the motorcycle with your cameraman Alex during the bicycle race. Keep it up!
Thanks for making it happen! 🙌
Greetings from Egypt :). That was really amazing man. I have just finished my first Triathlon race and you made already register for the Egyptian Ironman next year. You made it champ
Nice one 🙌 Good luck on the Ironman 💪
I got tears in my eyes at the end. Amazing job. Wonderful to be there along with you. Keep up the amazing work. You’re an inspiration
I relived my race through the course of watching you, all I did was a sprint triathlon and nothing near as demanding as your race. But it was the training, race day and the excitement of the spectators. truly an experience you will never forget. Way to go Quinn.
Really well done, Quinn! Very inspirational - loved watching this 2 part series!!
Fantastic to watch GTN, thank you. Massive congrats!
Congrats Quinn! Inspiring. Loved to see the journey, well done set of videos. Kudos to GTN.
Great work, Quinn!!! Very inspiring!
The evolution of how you feel on the bike is so typical. First bit: it feels so wonderful to be on the bike! It's so beautiful! Mid-way: starting to get a bit stiff. Three-quarters: I'm tired. End bit: I will do anything to get off this &%*@ bike!! Even run a marathon!!
the 4 stages of grief!
That was bloody brilliant! Kudos mate.
Congratulations Quinn and well done on the updates. I have just completed my first Full IM in Bolton and I swear I could use your commentary over my whole journey. I was unable to show any emotion in my race, probably too knackered, but have just shed a tear of happiness for you. Well done mate 👏👏
😭❤️
Absolutely brilliant! Hugest of congratulations, Quinn and what a fab little series, GTN
Hats off to you and great 2 part series - total admiration
It was an awesome performance from Quinn!
I am about to compete in my first ever triathlon this weekend so I have been watching a tons of GTN to make sure I don't make any big mistakes. It's always been my goal to do an iron man one day, but the goal seemed too big to reach. After watching Quinn's journey and then the race I feel so inspired to take on that goal. Thanks for the pick-me-up and the push in the right direction.
Fantastic. Amazing story. Well done!
Loved this!!! Amazing achievement mate!! Genuinely inspiring! 👍👍👍
One of the best insights into a long distance race I have seen
really enjoyed watching it would love to c more like this.
Congratulations!!!! Amazing journey. Fully related to all your feelings throughout. Was a joy to watch you fight and move through it.
He did such a good job
Absolutely inspirational, well done Quinn...and I loved the final "Will I do another one? ...definitely!" Sounds like you're hooked! I'm doing my first Olympic in less than a month and hope to do soon-ish!
Amazing work, congratulations!
Wow that was amazing, thanks for sharing.
Absolutely loved this Quinn, well done mate! Was already my fave GTN video / pair of vids ever, then i saw your Gran had posted below ! Even better now.
PS they properly stiffed you with that bike... you deserve one of those canyon supermax spaceships for doing this. And you're clearly plenty fit enough to make use of it!
Hats off to Quinn. Great effort and finished what you started. You really achieved something to be proud of :)
That was totally wonderful.. well done, Quinn!
Well done!!! Hard work pays off!!💪💪💪
Not me balling my eyes out watching this ! Congrats ! You're a true inpiration man
Awesome job! Love it!!
Incredibly inspiring Quinn. Congrats on the race!
Wow wow wow wow wow. I’m sure I’m not the only one who you have inspired with your achievement. Thank you for sharing this. 💪🙌💪🙌💪
Very inspiring...one of my bucket list prios 👍🏻✌🏻 thanks GTN
Go for it!
I don’t know you Quinn, but I felt all the emotions that you were going through in this race! Thank you for taking us onto your journey! And CONGRATULATIONS for this amazing achievement!!! Good luck and lots of success with your next triathlons/ ironmans! 💪💪💪
I didn’t watch this earlier, finally got a chance to sit back and catch up, loved every moment well done 💕💜
Congratulations to Quinn, amazing effort. Fantastic reflection of what it is like as an age grouper not at the pointy end of a race. I wonder if Quinn thinks he went too hard on the bike? I then suffered on the run.
He may have done both the swim and the bike too hard. A 1:09 swim is not slow by any means. A 5:30 bike is not slow by any means. But a 5:30 run after that is SLOW relatively speaking. With those two previous paces it should have been a 4:00-4:30 run. If he would have gave up 5 min on the swim and maybe 30 minutes on the bike it could have easily turned into a 1 hour savings on the run yielding a net positive.
The run is often blamed for a slow time but it rarely is.
Awesome job mate. Be proud. Saw you race morning chilling next to your bike. You didn't look nervous at all. Well done
Wow! Truly an inspiration!
Man-oh-man, such inspiring stuff. Quinn, good on you mate!!!! The pain and perseverance makes the achievement all the sweeter. Great series @GTN
Thanks a ton!
I’m in my second full season of triathlon and I still am inspired by stories like this. Well done, Quinn! Excited to see how your triathlon journey progresses.
So are we! we're all very proud of him
Definitely crying as I watch you do this! I'm so inspired! My first tri is in 3 months! It will only be a sprint, but I have high hopes that it is only the first of many. Thank you for sharing the journey! ~Holly
Wow. Just wow. Amazing work.
Congrats to Quinn! I love the video since his struggles are what all the age groupers face. I got emotional seeing the crown support and finish (just as I do in the real race). 👏👏
Awesome!! That’s some determination 💪
Congrats! That was very inspiring
A remarkable accomplishment, congratulations and well done.
Amazing achievement. We all face our demons in this sport. Wether a keen beginner in a sprint race ( myself) or the ultimate challenge of an Ironman. Well done Quinn.
Well done dude!!!!
Well done Quinn! Inspirational to watch!
Damn, Quinn pretty much did an exact replica of my first Ironman at Coeur d'Alene years ago. Like almost exact, haha! Congrats buddy!
Congratulations that finish line feeling...!
The best 😍
What a legend. Well done.
So beautiful and inspirational. Many congratulations Quinn, you are an inspiration.
Quin well done! Funny to see we all have the same thoughts and feelings before a race. The race looked great! Nice atmosphere! Many respects!
Congratulations Quinn! Awesome to follow your journey. Did my first triathlon (sprint distance) yesterday and aiming to do a ironman distance in a few years time. Would love to see a video with a reflection on your training and race!
Awesome - well done!
Wow! Awesome performance by Quinn! Cool coverage of his journey 👌
Congrats mate! WEll done Quinn!
That bike time is seriously impressive. Great work mate
Truly amazing job in getting it done! My first will be IMAZ in 2023. Thank you for the continued content, laughs and inspiration!
You got this - let us know how it goes. Thanks for the kind comments 🙌
@@gtn I sure will. I have my first half in October and have had nothing but a fantastic time on this journey. Great support from my family, a solid coach and my mentors have been crucial. It definitely has taken a village to raise this idiot 😂! All that said, the content on this channel is the icing on the cake for me, it has provided so much encouragement and positivity during those time of doubt and internal questioning of why am I doing this! Thanks again and keep on pumping out that great content!
Inspirational stuff Quinn, awesome effort all round. I have my first IM in 5 weeks (Copenhagen) and this video has just brought up my first bout of pre race nerves 😆.
That's completely normal! We're sure you'll smash it, good luck!
Absolutely amazing Quinn welldone! to you and GTN 🙌🙌
Thanks so much!!
I love how he did everything in his own way, like even taking the pouch on the run. What a performance Quinn! Good job
Great video Quinn well done .
Awesome! 👍👍👍
Incredible 💪🏻👍🏻
Well done Quinn, one of the most common sentiments us amateur triathletes feel is looking forward to the run on the bike.
Got teary. Well done.
🥲
Congrats Quinn on completing the journey and motivating others to try it too.
Great series! Doing an IM as a first tri is a big undertaking
Really awesome to see the journey and accomplishment from Quinn. I have only completed a handful of sprint triathlons but would some day like to complete a full distance.
Take the plunge, you can do it!
@@gtn it seems like Quinn caught the triathlon bug. Is there plans for a follow up Q&A for a part 3? Like a lessons learned video. Curious if he feels like doing a sprint or half before hand would have helped like his coach wanted, haha.
Certainly has the bug! We'll have a think and see what we can do, currently no plans for episode 3 but that's not to say that's the end, we'll see what the future brings 🙂
Brilliant!
Loved this mini series! I’ve got my first full IM (outlaw Nottingham) this weekend and it’s also looking hot, so this was a little close to home seeing how tough the run might be on a hot day! 😅 that finish line feeling though, wow! Superb effort! Not sure my swim/bike will be so fast 😳
Awesome - good luck this weekend!
Great experience. Inspiring videos!
Would you share your training schedule please? The main bits at least.
Thanks.
Good, superpower job !
Same here. I am a long distance runner any have never done a Triathlon before. I just signed up for the Ironman Frankfurt 2023 after being a spectator in the 2022 event, just bought my first road bike and will start Triathlon training after running the Berlin Marathon end of September. It is going to be one hell of a journey, but I am really excited and motivated to go all in. 😀
Incredible swim and bike times especially for never having done a triathlon! Many experienced age groupers would be proud
Awesome!!! Can't believe you did the run with that pack! Is your shoulder chafed from it??
I hope to make it one day. I am in full admiration for a total beginner who got a marathon distance run done in 5.32h after swim and cycling. I have done marathons so I know run such distance itself is a lot of effort. Great great job done.
I did my first 500m open water swim in very choppy water & came out absolutely exhausted and shaking. I will enter another one just to overcome the fear and see if there is performance improvement, then I'll enter my first sprint triathlon. Unfortunately I would have to save up to one day enter a full Ironman but it's on the bucket list now. Thank you for showing us your journey so that we can be inspired and well done on an amazing effort!! Nice work GTN & coach James, I love this channel!
Great stuff 🙌 Really great to hear you've been pushing yourself! Keep your eyes on the channel for more inspiration 🙌
Best Video you guys have done in my opinion! 🙌🏻 Just signed up to my first iron distance triathlon with only one previous tri experience (olympic distance). Training for Ironman Frankfurt starts on Monday✅ Well done Quinn!!!
Welcome aboard!
My first has been a Half. Doubt titled my training, smashed it though
Massive respect
Well done Quinn! Great attitude
Would love to give Tri a go, seeing Quinn from average Joe to completing IM distance.
If only i know how to swim :(
Currently im self training to try Duathlon event one day. Recently picked up cycling (8months ago), and already tried few brick session trainings :)
Congratulations!
Quinn you're a beast! Well done Ironman!
Super cool🎉😢
I did Bolton this year and I had not trained as much as I should, got it done though which I couldn’t believe I’d ever manage to do
Chapeau Quinn!
Wow!
Awesome achievement Quinn. Congratulations.
Thank you so much 😀
@@gtn ❤
WEll done Quinn what an acheivement, I've done serval triathlons but never been brave enough to enter a full. Maybe I can, but I feel like I would need to borrow your support crew
This shoulda been a 10 part series
Love it. No Plan B
Well done mate, life changing right ?
Global-How’s life?- very professional recording,=))
this is inspiring, one day, I, too, will become an ironman.
You can do it!
What's the cutoff time for this particular race??
I’m not crying, you’re crying
We're pretty proud 🥲
