this is the trailer. i wouldn't mind seeing it again - can't find it on youtube. don't go by numbers of clicks to determine popularity. they number of clicks depend on too many factors and can actually be manipulated. this is the sony channel - i'm sure plenty of links uploaded by people who forgot about copyright - 'unauthorized uploads' have been removed over the years and plenty of people are aware of how good this film is. written by the same guy who wrote 'planet of the apes' a great book too ( the film has its moments too)
I 'm from Sri Lanka. This movie shooted in Kitulgala of Sri Lanka. It almost have taken 2 years to complete. This rever called in the Sri Lanka Kelani river. If you come to Kitulgala in Sri Lanka you can see the train wreck in the river and some parts of the bridge.
@@gailtrotman5256 I was not talking about the actual bridge .I Talked about movies. This movie was shooted in Sri Lanka. You can see it from the movie's final credit.
Oh the nostalgia seeing this trailer & hearing that song. Takes me back to the 80’s when I was a kiddo & my dad would watch this any time he could catch it on tv. My older brother too. I even learned how to play the whistle song via 🎹 at 7 when I started lessons.
I think ripped off is a bit harsh, but if you know what to look for you can spot scenes and elements taken from _Flash Gordon_, The Wizard of Oz_, Forbidden Planet_, _Star Trek_, _Silent Running_ (1973), and others, in the original trilogy. Humanity progresses by building on the work of preceding generations. Of course, intellectual property rights, to include patents and copyrights, should be respected.
Dude, it IS The Bridge ON the River Kwai, but it is based on a novel called The Bridge OVER the River Kwai (original French title : Le pont de la rivière Kwai which literally translates to The Bridge OF the River Kwai). There's no need for any of that CIA/ Mandela Effect nonsense.
“Bridge on the River. Crap.” Total propaganda based almost entirely on fictional characters in a fictional story. The mentality of post WW2. Truth is far more interesting these days
@Stephen Bradley You bloody moron. This was inspired by a real case. However, the real story was so gross, due to Jap atrocities, as to be unfilmable. Then again, it doesn't claim to be a documentary. And what do you know about "truth"?
@@konstantinosnikolakakis8125absolutely right. The Japanese were an evil and wicked race of people who treated our soldiers like vermin. That should never be forgotten or forgiven.
I remember watching this with my dad and brother back in the day. Good times, and a great film.
Where are you from?
I'm just back from River Kwai in Kanchanaburi, Thailand.
The bridges, the rail, the train... always remind me to this movie.
My favourite all time film. Alex Guinness outstanding. David Lean a genius.
Sad that such a great movie as this only 70,000 views. Easily makes the top 100 movies of all time.
Sad? Dude I am 60 year old man from Iran. I remember this movie. I'd say it did pretty well
Talk about the "Stiff upper lip".

wow
Yes I passed this bridge while I was rafting at Kithulgala
The write-up on Google says the bridge was never destroyed, in fact never even damaged. Are you sure you have the right bridge in THAILAND?

The great legendary Sessue Hayakawa. One of the Original Stars of Hollywood’s Silent era but sadly forgotten!
Marvelous in everything he starred in! His life was interesting too!

Are you telling me that Star Wars ripped off the yellow, scrolling text in this film, down to the four dots at the end?

Why is it propaganda? If anything, the film sort of underplays the treatment of the British prisoners by the Japanese.
