Dang:/ all good tho. replace the engine, I did. Twice. I had 2 rev up engines. Both go bad on me started rod knocking, one of them as bad as this. My 3rd engine I swapped to DE. I love it burns 0 oil. 50k mile replacement engine it’s still doing me great 3 years later,I beat on it every day. Doing the engine replacements helped me learn lots of stuff. It landed me a job as a diesel tech, somehow someway now I work on semi trucks and trailers. And love my g35 that I got when I was 16. Will never get rid of it.
Had a 1997 Hyundai accent that sounded like that. Well my sisters and turns out she didn’t put oil in it for 2 months and that thing already burn oil like crazy… put oil in it and ran it for 2 hours it slowly went away

Stop running the engine it’s Causing massive damage, it’s making it worse probably damaging the whole block
He already said he’s planning on getting a new engine, it’d probably be less to buy another than send it to a machine shop

timing chain main cause of rod knock nowadays
I got rid of mine at 145k cause the timing was starting to make noises, no one wants to do preventative maintenance on em lol
