Ik this is a year old comment, but saw tooth waves did a video about pegasi magic and his idea is that, since sunny could fly with magic when she doesn’t have wings what if that means that ponies can only fly as much as their spirit/magic wings (I forget his exact wording) can handle, what if the reason scoots can’t fly is because her magic wings are as small if not smaller then their physical wings (or maybe she has less pegasi magic along with her disability)

As a person who has been bullied and told I'd never make it anywhere in life (getting a job for example), I can relate to this and say this song is amazing. I can say I have a job and have made an impact in my community by helping those unfortunate. And as the lyrics say, I've shown those who said I wouldn't be anything that I am flying where they said I'd never reach.

I'm pretty sure that's not what we want to be telling people with disabilities (or anyone else). The "Retail Incentive" cover for comic issue 96 has Scootaloo flying in a hang glider alongside Rainbow Dash, and a previous issue (#81) had her hear the story of an earth pony who invented a set of artificial wings and got himself into the Wonderbolts. Hopefully it's a sign that the people at IDW realize that there's no excuse for her to be grounded for life.
