The Department of Agriculture website states that there is NO bird flu in Australia and suggests there never has been any with a section on the website suggesting how to prepare for bird flu IF it arrives in our continent. I found at least two different government websites this week stating same. What's going on???
Just came back from my local IGA - plenty of eggs. Why characterise the issues with Coles and Woolies as a country wide shortage? Typical mainstream media - let's create an issue that isnt real and ignore the real issues.
Because many, many, many people across Australia have no option, but to shop at Coles and woollies, because there is no one else and this affects people across the entire country. So, by definition, it is a country wide shortage. Some of us may be lucky enough to be able to source out eggs from the local butcher or the local deli or the local greengrocer, but just because some of us are lucky enough to be able to do that does not mean everyone else in the country has the same opportunity.
@@michelleduvois2755 because this is Australia, and not Mumbai. And we have strict regulations around the health and production of birds and eggs. This is not 1832 sweetheart. Really, when was the last time there was an egg recall in Australia? I’m 60 and I can’t remember one ever happening.
@@just_passing_through But why's the biggers important stores as woollies and Coles going to removing all eggs and wasting money for nothing ? Seems suspicious isin't .
So do you think or even many people's are thinking it is just a gamme to increase eggs price's ? Or because healthy reasons ? (Money for nothing and chicks for free) 🐔😃Dire Stairs song .🤔
Australia has strict food and health regulations and for good reason too. I would rather live here and be rest assured the eggs I'm getting are being produced in a safe way than risk my body from eggs imported from overseas. They are also likely to be inferior and we have a huge farming industry here and would rather support local farmers than overseas.
Lots of eggs at the local fruit shop. Only the big players have this "shortage". What's up Woolies and Coles? 😂
Go up the Asian shops, also richer suburbs are supplied better.
Also noticed same. Good point.
Im sure they'll use it as an excuse to put the prices up.
