- Boston Celtics signed one-year deal with Svi Mykhailiuk, the 26-year-old forward. Here are his best highlights from the 2022-23 NBA season with the Charlotte Hornets as he averaged 10.6 PPG on 40.4 three-point shooting to go with 2.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 19 games played.

An underrated Celtics killer over the years, especially with Toronto, glad to have him on the squad
Hes actually a pretty good ball handler for a wing , and much better at cutting and getting to the hoop for layups than I originally thought....I figured he primarily got his points from 3. What a good pick up for the Celtics on a minimum contract.
Kid can definitely shoot, there’s no doubt about that. Perfectly fine bench piece to add to the group 🍀

There's a nice skillset here, but my absolute favorite thing that he does is move well without the ball. Specifically, he cuts to the basket. Not a lot of guys know how to do that well.
Good point...we have many guys that will flourish with ball movement and movement in general. I can see Zvi do well with KP, a 7'3 target, on the floor. He can pass and moves well with and without the ball in his hands. Kudos to Brad Stevens....he has put together a truly versatile team. It is going to be fun to watch the mix and matches.

This is an upgrade from Sam Hauser. Dude can dribble drive, absorb contact, makes his own shot. And flat out shoot.
If Svi Mykhailiuk consistent shooting next season qnd playoffs he HELP get #18 banner 💪💪💪
Lot of confidence, and his ability to create his own shot reminds me of Luka. Great passer and decent defender too. Solid overall pickup.
Sneaky athletic and great court vision along with the shooting.. Good bench piece IMO.
He seems to be an upgraded version of Hauser on offense where he can do way more with his vision, ball handling skills, drives, off screen catch and shoot (Celtics missing element) and a good passer with height and some athleticism. If his D is decent enough he will get 13-18 mins a game and gives more dimensions & options to Celtics' rotations. He seems to be a great option to spell Brown or Tatum when they are running their staggered rotations.
He's not better than Hauser. These clips are pretty much all garbage time since the Hornets didn't play any real minutes last year. If you put together a Hauser highlight reel, he'd look like an all around player too.

He moves well without the ball and shoots well off the dribble. Doesn't defend as well but he's a 7th guy if he really takes off
He is better than Hauser right now. Hauser may have more upside but Svi has shown more in his time in the NBA.

No idea who he was till I saw this vid but first thoughts he looks smooth. He might be a good fit if he’s aggressive with his shot like how he was with charlotte here - could definitely help us out
Never saw him play with the Hornets last year he looks like he can ball. I did not get to see any of the Charlotte Hornets last year but this year's squad is even better.

I was hoping for Lamar Stevens. For the defense and energy. I watched Svi a lot when he was with the Raptors. He shoots really well when there is no pressure but can't make sure when he is needed.

He’s got a good floor game, high bball iq, good passer but only an average shooter which is why he never broke out. The league will finally see what he can do because he’ll look best on a team that plays the right way.

I'm not mad at the signing, it's a guy as the 14th man on the bench with a particular skill and that's all you can really ask for. But if it was him or Blake Griffin and they leave the 15th spot open, I think Blake makes more sense. This guy is not going to play many meaningful minutes, so I'd rather have a guy like Blake that can at least bring some veteran presence despite not playing much. If Brad does resign Blake or grabs another guy like him for the last spot, Svi is a great 14th man. If not, I don't think he's what this team should have prioritized.
I love the offense but offense not really our problem we need to get back to the defense identity that got us to the finals

Well I pray he shall bring all his great attributes and skills to the Boston #Celtics and multiply it by 2! I would hope he and SAM become great defenders at least SEMI O. solid!
Celtics have made it clear that they want to be an offensive first team. Please don’t start complaining about lack of defense 2 weeks into the season. Those days are long gone.

The Celtics are going to be scary this year
Looking at his stats he seems like a guy who can get 10 points in 20 minutes at his best, more like 6 points in 12 minutes at his worst. I have no idea about his defense, but his personal fouls are really low for his minutes so that means he wasn't targeted and if he was he didn't foul to bail himself out. He should get some minutes, you don't bring in a guy who played 20 minutes a game just to bench rot.

He looks good, but I'm just wondering why he's been on 6 teams in 5 years?
Cause he's not that good. He looks like a playmaker and whatnot in these clips, but really he's a marksman that has almost zero value outside of shooting, and if you look at his yearly 3pt percentages, there's a lot of variance. He's hit or miss as hell.

And for the sake of argument, let's say I'm overrating Hauser (which stats would say I'm not) and they are basically the same player. Why go get Svi and not keep Blake around? I mean they could still keep Blake but let's be honest, they're not using the 15th spot. I don't get it.

Don’t love this signing..hopefully he can prove me wrong. Just kinda seems like he can’t do much if he’s not creating for himself which won’t really happen on this team. Probably a garbage time player but still. Would’ve liked to see a Lamar Stevens or TJ Warren
Warren is awful. He was struggling to get mins on a low depth suns team. Svi can cut off the ball and catch and shoot as well as move the ball

All the casuals that say he’s a shooter. Shooting is probably the worst part of his game, he’s an average shooter. His passing, cutting and secondary playmaking make him a great player off the bench
