I am surprised to find a large number of thumbs down 👎 signs!!!
It’s a disgusting sign of your mind and soul.
My request to those negative souls is stay away from these top classical arts if it is not for you.
Likes dislikes are personal so you can opt for any options, but don’t put these signs on any ragas,songs and performances by any artists. These genre of artists are globally respected, honoured and loved by other musicians and listeners. If you can imagine or perform better then provide your knowledge and I can guarantee they will learn and pick up.
What reveals the negative souls is that they put thumbs down 👎 to express their sadness publicly.
Please be bold enough to come out with your constructive criticisms for any artist rather than these coward act.

The difference is obvious between a butterfly, bee and other species of flies are in origin and their sustaining material. around which they leave and fly around.
Seek for nectar and if not, look for your garbage of choice elsewhere in RUclips.

The fact is that people mostly understand and feel attracted to light entertaining music and songs only as available in most of the Indian films sung by Rafi, kishore, Mukesh and others. People only understands cheap entertaining songs in lip of cinema heroes. They have no taste or capability of realising higher level of music, raga, extreme classical as the basic genre of legendary Manna Dey. What Manna Dey can deliver, other singers have to take 7 births for gaining such capability. This is absolute truth. No other singer can even come closer to him.
Singing all types of song spontaneously, without much movement of the body, should be adorable to the modern day singers...
Manna dey is the greatest singer in Indian film history. No other singer can reach even close to him. The ocean of music.
But Manna Dey himself always appreciated Mohammed Rafi & his high class singing.

Manna Dey was an incomparable genius, holding his own easily against the greatest of his contemporaries including Rafi, Kishore and others. He was also a very humble human being. I only wish he had been given the opportunity to compose music on his own.

God wanted to sing different types of memorable songs and he selected the soul of MANNA DE. I can't find anyone to perform these varieties so easily.
Her I cannot stop myself from mentioning another heavenly song by great Manna Dey, jago re prabhat aya from the movie SANT GYNESHWAR 1964. I think this specific song is the ultimate classical genre used in Bollywwod or indian film. I request all to listen to this song.
As such these songs were made just for him. Kind of justice Manna Dey had done to these and many other songs with his versatility, no one - YES no one could do so. Just close your eyes and try to feel that any other singer singing this song. You all will immediately agree with this statement.

& so many ghazals, including Jamuna ke tat pe!! Ghazals, ragas, etc are the foundation of Indian Classical music and have been globally appreciated. Mannada has a contribution in it. 🎶 🎶 🎶
What a great voice! Play back singing is only one of his many types of vocal musical greatness. He is one of the very few complete singers who sang many different types of songs so comfortably such as geet, ghazal, bhajan, kawali, devotional songs and many modern songs in bengali and other Indian languages. He sang most number of bengali songs perhaps of all known types. He had numerous super hit songs in many Bengali and Hindi films. In each song of Manna Dey, we can find something unique due to his powerful and melodious voice. He is however fortunate also because of best music directors and lyricists of his time. A singer who can sing for 50 years with such a great voice speaks a lot about this genius. A myriad of pranams to this all time great musical maestro.
I beg to differ from you on one point that he was fortunate. No he was not. He was as brilliant as he was neglected in Bollywood. Had he got to render a half of the beautiful compositions that Mohd. Rafi or Kishore Kumar got, history would have been written differently. He was instead branded into the classical category and got to render mostly classical and typical compositions which no other singer was capable of rendering to his level of competence.

This was his great time, probably 40 plus age or may be 50 plus. We usually watch videos of his 70 plus or 80 plus ages.
Those who have disliked by showing their thumb down👎 , l would like to request them not to listen to Manna Dey. They, I think, do not understand classical based song like this. They have no right to dishonour such a legendary singer.
He was one of the great singer in India not only that one of the classical singers too.we are very much proud for that reason to legend Manna Dey . And he was the assistant of great Sachin deb Burman sahab.

I feel sad that the film producer's and Bollywood film makers have underrated Manna Dey and has not been given the opportunities the extent he deserved to receive. A most creative talent capable of singing any type of song.

I remember playing Laga Chunari May Daag.. in 1986 with sunroof open at midnight hours on quite road in Toronto. I played very loud and it was a summer night. There were couple of Indian passengers on the bus and gave me THUMBS UP. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍👍👍👍👍❤️

Is it trauma? or it is anti dose in pandemic situation,for last 5/6days I am fully occupied specially non filmi song "Nathli se toota moti re" by beloved Manna da in pick form during recording ,though many functions we watched in Calcutta live in school days. Anchor (can be called beautiful interview)by thorough gentleman and screen legend Manmohan Krishna pleased to see after long time .It is national asset and to be kept for another 200years in archive.
