I have so many bags from so many different brands and this is probably one of my top 3 favorite bags. The back is so comfortable and the material is decent. The straps do need a little more padding but they are ok. The sternum strap is a little short for me but aside from that this bag is great.
Just subscribed to you Danny :) You’re very good at what you do! This is exactly the kind of review I look for when purchasing anything, especially bags! This review just confirmed my order and I can’t wait to try this thing! You covered literally everything I was looking for! I love how you describe each function and feature in such detail while making it clear and concise! I like how you described everything including the zipper type (which Northface did NOT specify!), the materials, with all of the amazing features and organization. I don’t mean to sound like a nerd but these things tickle my fancy lol. Your presentation is very easy to follow with great pace and in-depth details. I love how you even took the time to compare other backpacks to the Voyager! That’s such a critical detail most reviewers miss. I watched a bunch of Pack Hacker vids, but yours blow them out the water in terms of quality review content. I would love to see a side by side when you mention similar bags to the one you’re reviewing :) for example, I would have liked to see the other North Face bags you mentioned as an alternative :) Overall, great video! I’m very glad to have purchased this because of you.
Glad to see that North Face has made their typically garish logo a little less in-your-face on this model by moving it to the lower corner. Still too loud, though, for an urban bag. It would have been a way more sophisticated choice to make the logo black on black.
Great point with the logo and look on this backpack! There’s a very nice grey-on-black version of this very same pack! It looks amazing and there’s no “loud” logo look on it. Sadly, it was sold out on their website and it’s incredibly difficult to find in that colour way. There is, however, a blue-on-blue version that is not loud and has the same exact features but in a different colour way. Hope this helps!
@@BigMaxStax, I ordered the Summit Navy/Shady Blue version for this exact reason. I'm hoping it looks as subdued in-person as it does in the the website pics and video! (My local store, unfortunately, had no base camp bags or packs in this colorway for me to check out.)
Can you review the roll top ?! Looks about the same but like you could add more if one wanted to. There’s literally no review on that and the mountain day backpack XL
love the video, especially calling out comparable backpacks at the end! I've had a northface bag for a few years now and love all the organisation pockets. I often find other brands are lacking in this area, probably with go with another northface. Do you happen to know any other brands / bags with lots of organisation? I'm also looking for something a bit more elegant, similar to the bags from kapten and son. They already have some organisation, but not as lot as the northface bags
on TNF website their smaller Daypack is no longer available but it has be replaced with a rolltop version. Too bad because it doesn't have an admin pocket anymore.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful! I do think this is a solid personal item bag that will work across a lot of airlines around the world
Great video, per usual! Questions: I'm currently trying out the Fjallraven Räven 28, which I love -- except for the bottom of the frame sheet digging into my lower back when I have a 14 MPB, 20oz water bottle, phone, and a few light items packed. How does the comfort level of this bag compare with that of the Räven, in your opinion? And does the back panel of the Räven soften up/break in/get at all more flexible over time? Also, do you have any concerns about the durability of the shoulder straps? I've heard and read a lot about those nylon bridges between the tops of the padded straps and the backs of bags tearing since The North Face started using that style of strap. Thank you!
Thank you for watching and for the support! I haven’t noticed the frame sheet on the Raven changing much unfortunately so if it’s uncomfortable where the bottom touches your back that may not change. Both bags are pretty comfortable overall, I would give an edge to this one over the Raven on the back panel in particular. I’ve heard people have issues with the straps but with the north face bags I’ve used over the past year or two I haven’t run into any issues as of yet, but I’m also not regularly carrying a lot of heavy textbooks or similar items so that’s something to maybe keep in mind
SO WEIRD! I have been watching all your videos trying to find a good bag for edc and to use as a personal item on the plane. It was between the fjallraven Räven 28 and the Refugio Daypack 26L. Then I came across the Northface basecamp. I searched to see if you reviewed it and boom you did an hour ago.
Thank you for watching! For the most part it feels pretty comparable imo the areas where I notice the biggest difference is in the straps (these don’t feel as durable), the inner liner and in some of the interior zippers (they both use ykk but evergoods use the the thicker ones for their pockets
This bag is eerily similar to the Vanquest Addax 25 that I'm currently carrying. Have you noticed that by any chance...(if you are familiar with the Addax)
one of the greatest things about this bag is that is actually stands up on it's own when packed...
Thank you for watching and I agree, really great feature!

Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the bag! Glad to hear it’s been working out well!:)

Thank you for watching and I agree it’s nice it’s been updated a little but would definitely like to see a black on black option!

I have the black on black version and the logo is very subtle. Big recommend
The green makes it almost disappear…..I think they subconsciously know mostly military/tactical are buying that color anyways
Please do a review of the 35L version of this! It’s up there with the surge and recon!! Have been researching both as need a new bag!
Thank you for watching! The 35l looks pretty solid as well, I’ll have to see if I can get one to test out!
@@dannypacks please do, will be on that vid straight away! All the best 👊🏽

Are you planning on reviewing the 35L version of this bag? It will be helpful
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I will see if I can get my hands on one to test out

really wish North Face backpacks come with luggage passthroughs
Thank you for watching and I agree, I don’t know why they don’t include it on their bags!

Thank you for watching! That’s unfortunate to hear, I really liked this one. Hopefully they bring back and updated version in the future
Great video! Would you recommend this backpack as a personal item for travelling the world?

@@dannypacks, thanks for the response and input. Very helpful and appreciated!
thanks for reviewing , Does the backpack have bottom anti-shock protection for laptops?
Thank you for watching! The bottom of the compartment is suspended off the ground so it feels like it offers a good amount of protection :)
Do you know the exact size? Listed size 57 cm but maximum for many carry ons are 55 cm. I'm torn between this and the Black Hole pack 32.

Thank you for watching and that’s awesome the timing worked out! This is definitely a good alternative to the other options you were considering!
very helpful
Thank you for watching!:)
do you thing it would fit the 36oz yeti in the side pocket?
Great review.
Thank you for watching!:)
So AER 😊
Thank you for watching and definitely a similar aesthetic!
how does the backpack "feel"compared to evergoods backpacks like the chz26? does it feel "cheaper" "flimsy" or anything that comes to your mind?
Thank you for watching! For the most part it feels pretty comparable imo the areas where I notice the biggest difference is in the straps (these don’t feel as durable), the inner liner and in some of the interior zippers (they both use ykk but evergoods use the the thicker ones for their pockets
Thanks for the review. Can this backpack be washed in a waching machine?
Thank you for watching! I don’t know that I would wash most bags in a machine, I would hand wash / spot clean
This bag is eerily similar to the Vanquest Addax 25 that I'm currently carrying. Have you noticed that by any chance...(if you are familiar with the Addax)
Thank you for watching and good call out! Definitely some similarities between the two!
Is it good for long walks exploring the city?
Thank you for watching! I would say yes with the padding and support it offers
Can this hold a 40L water bottle?
any like 25-28L packs that are considered budget ish? say around 100-180 USD?
Thank you for watching! The north face and Fjallraven have some good options, 511, mystery ranch and tomtoc might also be worth checking out
@@dannypacks the 5.11 looks so good the AMP series but so so ex hahaha!
remove the hat
nice one wheel
Thank you for watching! Definitely love my Onewheel!:)
