    My late uncle--Donald Scott Richard's, was involved in investigating this case. There is a book out called 'The CBS Murders'. Other than this case, when he was still with the FBI in CA, he was one of the agents on site when she was captured. I miss him talking about cases he was involved jn investigating.

    You have to remember a few critical points with these investigations:
    1. The Prosecution has to get their understanding and evidence to match without holes for the Defence to abuse wide open and smash the case out of court;
    2. Huge pressure from the public and media;
    3. If an Agent or Officer makes a serious enough error it can jeopardise the case and delay the investigation;
    4. People are well connected and can disappear; &
    5. Crime was rampant with the normal limited resources.
    I agree...He made the call from the pay phone...

    I would like to know why do we feed this kind of criminals when they are guilty of so many murders

    • @MikeGreenwood51
      @MikeGreenwood51 Год назад +5

      So the jailers, prosercutors, sherriffs do not starve the prisoner whilst in custody resulting in a murder. Whilst the prisoner is in lock-up, jail or custody he has not the capacity to feed him/her self as their access to food is controlled. Therefore if he was intentionally starved the act of starving him/her would be malice aforethought 1st degree murder. I believe the accussed has the right to jury trial and there fore a sentence of death can not be the personal choice of his jailers. So to avoid commiting murder the jailers are oblidged to act according the appointed Judges sentence. Just my opinion.

    If "any murders that are committed with intent and premeditation are classified as a first degree", why was that hitman - by definition someone who kills with premeditation - convicted for second degree murder only ? Ideal scenario for a movie, but of course so sad for the victims and their relatives.

    • @moutussiacharyya7510
      @moutussiacharyya7510 10 месяцев назад

      Introducing someone is not a crime. Introducing someone as a hired gun for murder is. Lawyer can claim that Nash was a client of his who was looking for electrical and plumbing jobs to do, and that was the reason for the introduction. Upto the prosecution to prove otherwise. Also the lawyer testimony was the first proven link between Nash and marguilles and so it was very valuable to fbi, and it was contingent on lawyer not being prosexuted, so perhaps that was why they never pressed charges.

Before hand if two people commit a crime and one decides to kill someone during that crime used to be dealt with separately. No longer happening.
      Rico cases came actually up during the 70 ties and 80ties it was initially used to go after the Mafia. Eventhough the law had been in place for decades remember Hoffa? Now they apply it everywhere especially if there is a buck to be made and looks good on tv. Could go on😊

      Can you prove the person using the pay phone threw the body there or saw the body and never reported it? He would say body was disposed of after he made the call and had long left the area. There was no cctv to show when body was disposed of at the spot.

    I’m confused, after Nash painted his van black, he dumped it at the airport and had his nephew come pick him up. ? Then the police stopped his van at a rest stop. I thought his van was dumped at the airport.

      He went back and got it at some point apparently , it's actually a common practice for criminals to dump vehicle in long-term parking spaces n wait for the search to cool off then return to get it

      He never left the van behind. It was his only vehicle. Yes he got in with his cousin but he went back when they went seperate ways.

    Do a shoddy paint job on a van full of murder evidence and drive to different states! Brilliant!

      another incredible stupidity of cops and FBI--all they had to do was take paint samples and test them to see the different layers of color to help ID the van.

    Shouldn't the FBI have been somehow protecting the two women, especially after a prosecutor told Margolis that two of his employees could testify against him?!

    So instead of torching the van with all the evidence in it, he paints it black and calls it clean to go on holiday in.This man was an idiot. Why didn't the guy just get m to Rob m, then torch the building the following few days.!! No one dies.

    Saw this story on "Law and Order", lenny and forget his partner cornered the killer on a train to Quebec, Canada. Think it was mob orientated. Great episode.
