I went skiing for the first time ever in life last week. I fell so many times, but I'm lowkey obsessed with it now. All I watch on RUclips is ski videos lol. I know once I really get the hang of it. It'll be fun. Hreat video my boy
New years last year was my first time ever. After getting a hang going a couple times I broke the bank and got a new setup, traded in my car for an all-wheel (I live near Mt. Hood, OR) and fell in love. My 8th time I but off more than I could chew and broke my right fibula 😅💀🤣🤣 going back up to the mountain for the first time this week and I'm both nervous but beyond excited to get back out there! This was a great video, got me back in the spirits! Lol
I went to Vail to ski in April this year. It was my first time, but it was so fun despite how many times I fell! I had a great time and would love to go back again one day. I was super sore for the next 3 days though 😂
Vail is the biggest ski resort in the US, but despite the quantity of snow, it looks quite quaint, and third worldish, I think you three need to go to Les 3 Vallées the biggest resort in the world to get a taste of European skiing.
Another top to bottom run is down Riva ridge through tourist trap. And to add excitement use Riva glade. Start at the top of chairs 11/4/5 toward Swingsville. Nice nonstop ripper.
awesome video, and not sure if you'll see this comment, but I want to get back into skiing. I quit when I was like 11? got into boarding, and 20 years later realizing I hate it and remembering how much I loved my short ski career. Anyway, I remember just bombing straight down a mountain, no carving, back when I was 10. What's the point in carving, sloloming? Is it to avoid catching an edge? Thanks
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. SKIING IS THE BEST, dude! Def get back into it! My 10-year-old self totally used to just bomb straight down the mountain as well. To answer your question, carving just kinda gives you better control. It increases traction and agility, which help with maneuverability and making quick speed adjustments. It also just looks sick. I'm sure a ski instructor would have more to say about it but to me it's just that simple. But yeah, I still enjoy the thrill of bombing down the mountain, carving just helps me do it with more style and control. Anyway, hope that helps. Thanks for commenting dude! Def get back out there and you'll be carving it up in no time!
@@FinerBub Thanks for the answer, man! Makes total sense what you said, and it was a far better/clearer answer than I got from google! I'll definitely get back out there after a lesson or two. I enjoy watching full rides like your video, so keep 'em coming! Cheers
@@FinerBub I lived there for 3 seasons, my buddy still lives in Eagle, I'm injured this season, I've got over 100 days on that mountain , can't wait til next season, thx for the video
Finally, this is my year to Ski Vail!!! Awesome video, hey we have the same skis (Line Sick Day) yay! Check out my Purgatory vid. Nice ride here, like how you narrowly avoided the wreck on Lions Way. Peace, bro 🤘😁🤘
Alright sick man i appreciate the response, we’re going in Feb and i’ve been looking soooo forward to this trip, i just don’t want skis to be what ruins it, i’ll keep the boots in mind, thank you
Lol fastest skier on the mountain over here, eh? Jk jk tbh most of the top to bottom vids I publish are of slower runs since they often involve Green runs with lots of ppl on them. I also try to stay behind the ppl I’m filming. I’m also paranoid that if I film myself racing down the mountain at full speed that I’m more likely to get spotted in the future and get my pass pulled. Long story short, I can’t believe you’re a pro, I’m so much faster than you 🤘😂😉

Thank you 🙏 that’s awesome! Keep at it, you won’t regret it
I went skiing for the first time yesterday, same exact thing for me. But I live in Miami sooooo big problem
Hope you had fun! Keep at it and you’ll be shredding in no time

Bummer about the leg. Great story though 🤙 keep at it you’ll be back up there shredding in no time. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I haven't been skiing in 10 years. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
this gets me so excited im going to france christmas day for 8 days full of skiing very very exciting
Wow! That sounds awesome
Oh the wonderful memories of Vail. I racked up a lot of vertical on that mountain and many others in COLORADO when I lived there.
Awesome! I’m looking forward to doing the same! Thanks for commenting! ✌️
By just what hung your videos I learned so much about parallel and turns. Thank you so much. I haven’t been here long but I for sure will be
Glad you found it helpful!
I wouldn't use this video for learning proper parallel turns
Good to know 👍
Tipp: Try to stay on the edge for the whole turn instead of sliding half the turn
Thanks Bob!
Great run considering all the bald spots and ice. Going next month. Vail is our fav place. Very awesome to see the runs that we use as well. Cheers 🍻
🍻
love the MIPS certified helmet!
Safety first!

@@FinerBub it really was awesome! i can’t wait either :)

🤙 Can’t wait til the back opens!
Im so excited to go to vail this febuary
Awesome! I’m excited for you!

The back bowls are my favorite easily
I’ve never been! Can’t wait for the snow!

Awesome! I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@FinerBub be careful in Riva Glade. Years ago the last time I went there was tree lying across the trail
Will do! Thanks 🙏
you need to go into the back bowls my man thats where the real stuff is
I’d love to but it’s not open yet. No snow…
Not open
I heard they just opened some terrain back there. I’ll have to check it out when I get back in town to be sure
Best video ever .
Thanks bub!
I love skiing I go to vail every year to go skiing I’m sad you did not go down my fav run tho called caddy’s cafe
Next time 👍
Amazing bro!!
Glad you enjoyed the video
vail is great either way obviously
Yeah I had an awesome time
Love it 👍 thanks for sharing ❄️
Thank you! Cheers!
Thats a real long mtn.
For sure
I've skied at A Basin but I've never skied at Vail Colorado
Yeah I hear good things about a basin. Hopefully going to get a few days in there this season
Nice skinny guys thanks for the vid
Skiing? You’re welcome. Glad you enjoyed it
Snow looks great, as do the views, but I don’t really see why people think Vail is better than resorts like Trentino/Alta Badia and Les Trois Vallées.
👍
Vail doesn’t even come close to resorts like AD, 3Vallèes.
Love that you didn’t edit out ur digger
It’s more authentic this way lol

I wanted to go at Lake Tahoe and I’m here rn but there is so so much snow that the roads and skiing resorts or whatever are all closed
Hmm. This is an interest problem to have. I’ve never been in this situation before
Wow! That really sucks. I heard there was a massive snowstorm. I’m going in a week, I hope I’m able to ski.
🤘
SImba is the best run for end of day ,2 top to bottoms and your cooked!
Sweet! Thanks! I’ll have to check that out 🤙

Awesome! I’m wicked jealous! Sorry about the injury. I’m sure you’ll bounce back soon. Thank you for the kind words!
@@FinerBub the back bowls are a riot on a big powder day! I had a bad crash on Log Chute! I don't thin you want to hearr the details-lol
Yeah back bowls are definitely on the to do list
What’s the biggest mountain around there? Keystone, vail, Breckenridge?
So far it seems like vail has the most open but to get an accurate reading I’ll have to explore a bit once more snow comes
@@FinerBub thanks dude!

Nice! Sick days are sick!
did any of you rent skis? if any of you did, were they in solid condition or kind of crappy?
Nah we all have our own gear. If you do rent, demos are the way to go for better quality
But if you want to invest in anything, boots should be your top priority…

Had to speed up to 1.5x to a normal skiing speed

The only thing better than skiing, taking a child skiing.
One day perhaps…
Nice video. I ski on a 375 foot land fill in Southeast Michigan
Hey, whatever works right? If it makes you happy I’m sure it’s just as epic as Vail
The sad thing is that you probably wait in lines longer than you ski
Not on a Tuesday
You mean Vile Resorts😝😝😝😝😝😝😝
🤷♂️ I had fun…
