- Ahoy my friends! Alright so today I am tackling the tough banner review for the new Zack and Cloud Monster Hunter Crossover!!! This is an INCREDIBLE banner guys, both of these weapons are phenomenal in their own rights, but there are a LOT of factors at play here!
First off, i don't recommend pulling on Limited banners unless you have at least 50-60K. That being said, i think just having 1 copy of Cloud's sword would be worth it. For Zack, definitely not. If you're going for Zack, you want OB4 minimum, and you have to commit to that! But with Tifa/Aerith on the horizon, i think holding off is best!!
Also, this weapon GREATLY powercreeps Murasame/Arcanum, so there is a good chance that the Murasame is getting towards the end of its days, tho I will say that I think Tifa with MH will be a Magic Lightning Arcanum, and that we will get another Lightning Arcanum at 1 year if i had to guess.

So grateful to your previous knowledge on monster hunter as I was ready to let loose for zacks arcanum.
As I started during sephi ice banner I missed the 1st few arcanums.
This is also why when almost everyone went crazy on clouds stream saber I went for Glenn as it got me the missing water arcanum and I had like 1k Glenn weapon parts.
Currently not alot of zack parts due to previous magic party buff weapon but I have over 1k aerith parts so I'm praying you're correct on what she's getting.

I am new to this game. And really want to keep up with many costumes. But after to know the mechanism stamp is the possible way to gacha and get them its so hard to following. And yeah I must choose the prioritize some character like Cloud actually because he is the most character will be included in many banner

I am new in the game, I've watching this video like 9 times now because I,m saving blue crystals to pull for Zack (I,m f2p) and have 60k now and everytime I come back here and listen to you, and I can't decide if I pull or not because I don't have weapon parts, nothing, and I really liked this Zack outfit, but I think, what if I,m unlucky? I can't decide.
Oof that’s a tough one. TBH what I would do is pull the first pull and get Cloud’s weapon and his costume. Then pull the first page of the Aerith banner and get 1 copy of her weapon and her
Costume. Both of them are great at 1 copy, both costumes are arcanum’s and as a new player should help greatly. You won’t have to worry about rng and you’ll get the best bang for your crystals. Then save hard from this point on and do not pull past the first stamp card for either banner! It’s a bait, at least for where you are currently

Very good breakdown, same as my thoughts about holding off. Zack's weapon was really hype at first until I realize it's a limited weapon and it may take close to 100k to OB10 which is not worth it. I spent like 70k on FF9 banner and only got OB2 claws and OB4 Zidane, and like you said, better stuff keeps coming out later and previous 'shiny' limited weapons becomes outdated.
Cloud's weapon is the better one that has much better R abilities and don't really need to chase that many copies of. But I'm probably gonna pull for either Tifa or Aerith. Tifa might be magic Lightning, or I'm thinking party wide thunder buff lol.
Yeah i think Cloud is a sleeper on this banner! Super strong!!
I have been debating about doing the step up banner at least 1 full run through. You can get both of the new banner weapons in the draws, just not at the 1% like the actual banner, everything in the step-up banner is dropped at about a .5% rate.
I decided against it though. I realized it would juts be better to wait and see what Aerith and Tifa will get before doing any pulls.
I WAS going to pull on Zacks weapon thinking it would be magic but it is not... Even though the weapon has CRAZY damage%, the R. abilities are a little lackluster. Cloud still does amazing damage for any Thunder weak enemies, so its really not needed for me.
Clouds costume is good! And his weapon is pretty good(that HP R.ability max at 62!). It's basically a better version of Amarants Gloves, but for me it's not really needed. I Stick Yuffie on all phys teams as much as possible since I can buff to max with her Arctic Star leaving Cloud(or whoever is DPS) to do just DPS. And before anyone says anything, yes I get his new sword does damage but it's non-elemental and your DPS is 99% of the time running some kind of element that will be out-damaging that new attack.
All good calls mate!! I really don’t think the step up is worth it at all and way better to see what Tifa Aerith look like before running ahead too much!
As good as the new Cloud sword is, I could really use some OB on my limit break weapons. I'm currently sitting on about 36k blue crystals, and only intend to pull 1 page for a Vincent costume, and hold the rest until anniversary.
I'm hoping those Summer outfits' abilities aren't too good to pass, because that would prohibit my ability ro stay the course.
I was lucky enough to pull a 3-star version of Cloud's new sword off the free step up draw. It's nice to know that if I ever get thirsty enough, I at least have the schematics to build one the expensive way.
Hell yeah that works for Cloud’s sword and yeah hold out til Anni and WL the older ones! Hopefully that works for ya!
I'm in the same mindset as you. I don't have a lightning arc, but due to the weapon not being available again for perhaps another year (it says it MAY return) makes Zack not have a good lightning weapon if you dont get enough upgrades.
You have to be right on Tifa's weapon / costume as why would the boss need lightning magic to deplete and they gave you a physical lightning in this banner.
Totally, and yeah i think almost a gimme that Tifa Magic Lightning, but who knows they could always throw a curveball haha
Do like the costume? Do you like the weapon? Pull! I've played too many gotchas over the last decade to not just pull what you like visually lol. Good vids though man. Keep it up!!

I went in for zack's set since i still dont have any lightning set on my acc. had 30k saved up and lo and be hold i got lucky! i got zack's weapon to ob3, cloud's weapon on ob2 AND got both of their costumes as well without meaning to lmao
now imma skip tifa and aerith just so i could pull for lucia's beach set and save up for the anniv and vincent 🙏

I agree with requiring at least 50-60k to pull on these type of banners but in reality you need far more because for Zack's weapon it is OB6+ or bust especially if you already have Cloud's Lightning setup. It usually takes me at least 100k crystals to OB10 weapons but; sometimes you get lucky. I do not think this power creeps the Murasame as much as you think based on the content that is currently out that requires lightning. Obviously this is subject to change but. we only need lightning for leviathon EX so I cannot get behind investing a 100k gems to an average player for just one fight. If its your favorite or waifu by all means pull but; it is best to invest in elements you don't have or something that will increase the overall dps of your team (Limit Break Weapons). If you want to whale on the next power creep than wait for the anniversary or see what the summer banners have. Last year the sun umbrella (Aerith) was invaluable and still is a very good weapon based on the R abilities alone. For me I just plan on saving for anniversary. I haven't pulled since the half anniversary and my current 100k stash will only continue to grow. Good luck to everyone that is pulling though. I agree that it is OB6 or bust but i also think pulling to OB4 is fine as the time required to get 400 weapon parts is not that long in comparison to like 800 for example, and so MOST cases 50-60K should be fine go an OB4 version of the weapon. And yes, for current content, this isn't needed, but based on how strong it is we can only imagine what the next lightning weak bosses might look like, so there is that chance that murasame gets slowly pushed away.

I ended up pulling when I saw the r abilities on zacks outfit. I've been waiting for an Arcanum outfit that pairs well with my current progress and this one finally hit the mark. I won't spend more until vincent and then after anniversary.

As F2P,trust me: as veteren ex-FFRK, u all gonna cry for not saving enough crystal for anniversary !i will definitely skip this banner except the free pull. September is not too far if you wanna play this game for years
Pull only when u not able to progress the game further after u maxed out your stat at sphere-grid.
For true F2P this is solid advice, tho there are some instances where you can fill in the gaps since there’s 100K crystals + more to be gained by the Anni
When i first saw the costume, there was no music playing so i thought this was actually FF4 crossover. Cus the armor looks so much like cecils dark knight armor, and i thought zack had kains armor

Zack’s R abilities are gimped in this banner and the half anni.
Yeah so as to not overpower him. But the weapon damage is first class and so is the arcanum 🙏🏽

Isn’t this pretty much Cloud’s best secondary weapon? For me it allows me to use matt instead of aerith for full party mdef and pdef high + full party healing, and it gives me a free third slot for debuffing instead of using yuffie all the time for attack buff
Yeah it definitely is Cloud's best secondary. Thing is, Cloud does not always have the freedom to open up his second weapon slot. But it is great you can use it at B5*

Yeah it definitely is! Will do great even against enemies with elemental weakness tbh unless they are resistant to physical or need elemental attacks to break bars
16:50 SAME! I messed up on the IX banners and spread myself waaay too thin. I didn't even pull on Aeriths banner. I mainly wanted the Amarant Gloves and only managed to get it to OB2. I got 1 copy of Zidanes sword and I have literally NEVER used it. The R abilities suck, and the damage sucks. Its a weapon sitting in my inventory with literally no uses for it.

I don't think they will balance future boss fights around these weapons at OB6 or even OB10 - that level of investment is going to be for whales to show off in Scoring Events.
The Elemental Arcanum costumes are just so good though. Even if we ignore the weapons they come with and the secondary stat - it's still a flat 35% increase to your 4 or 5 star Materia and of course the Summons - and that 35% is not locked to Physical or Magical damage. I had to clear Primal Behemoth with a OB1 Motor Drive with great difficulties, if my Tifa had a Wind Arcanum it would have been a piece of cake. Not a OB6 Limit Break powercreep Wind weapon, just a matching costume.
Cloud's Murasame costume having a "undesirable" secondary stat is honestly not a concern for me at all, just give me that 35% extra damage and I'm good. Same reason I would roll for Zack's costume if I didn't already own a Lightning Arcanum, couldn't care less about the weapon.
Fair enough and all solid points. Though I do think that lightning fights in the future will be tougher as a result of this banner. The question is not how much, though i do agree that it will not be balanced to equate to this thing's ob10 capacities, but tbh i wouldn't be surprised if it was balanced to this thing's ob6 capacities.

I have a question. I was thinking of getting a single copy of Cloud’s for offhand. At base 5 star, it has 288 PATK. Which is a lot lower than what I often use for offhand, which has like 500 PATK. Granted the offhand ability for those weapons is usually wasted since it’s an element the enemy isn’t weak too, but is it worth it to gain the Glavenus abilities while losing 200 PATK on the offhand?
Honestly I don't think it's worth it because there are other characters that can buff cloud and debuff the enemy depends on account of course but most importantly in the worst case scenario you could end up spending 12k+ crystals for 1 copy of the sword which is not worth it.
I wouldn't worry about the actual attack stat in the offhand, because the amount of attack that you gain based on the pdef down and the patk up is astronomical in comparison to that 288-500 stat gain. That being said, since its lower OB level the R abilities won't be as good, but actually the HP is super solid on this one even lower so yes i do recommend going for at least 1 copy, then using weapon parts to take to OB1 to boost the damage.
Or just use your free pull, get a 3 or 4* version then drop 200 weapon parts and boom single copy
I have guide gloves at ob7. I think for me cloud is only worth it at ob6. I’m day one f2p. For me cloud is dps and if I only have one copy/ob1 I am not sure if the buff/debuff would compensate the raw stats I would be missing by not equipping another weapon with higher ob levels. For instance if you have streamer blade ob1 not sure which one would be “better”. If I was a new player then yes one copy would be good. For me on the contrary Zack one copy/ob1 would be good as I use him as support he would not be a dps it would just complement cloud while supporting him and try to do damage when possible. That being said I dont think I will pull lol. I will wait on the second banner. Your Zidane is/are my claws. That is why I don’t think it’s worth it for me.
Mm i see your points, but that is assuming that you have space to slot a second DPS in a fight right, in reference to Zack, which is rare because normally for tough fights we need about 5-6 mechanics to counter the boss, and i think it would be a rare day when you have the freedom to slot 2 DPS without repercussions. And i still think the weapon will hold its value at OB1 tbh for Cloud, but you do make some valid points
This banner's real audience are newer players like me who doesn't have Cloud's lightning arcanum and low OB Murasame, and no FF9 weapons. With my resources all gone, I think I'll be skipping Tifa and Aerith as well as Vincent and the summer banners. With this banner, got most of my sub weapons to OB7-10, and finally got a decent offhand for Cloud.
Was also lucky enough to get OB6 on Zack's weapon while chasing OB10 on Cloud's.

I did the one free pull they have and I was able to get Cloud’s weapon and I’m out, haha. Lucky to have Clouds Thunder Outfit so I don’t need to chase Zack’s outfit. I will hold until we see what Tifa’s stuff is 👀 then we save for anniversary!
His new weapon is basically tifas amarant claws but way better. You lucked out. At ob6 it will take you places 🎉

Hopefully we get a Tifa Lighting Magic Arcanum, cuz I would get to use her Lighting Gloves which gives 62 HP at OB10, and my Sephiroth's CC Alloy that grants a huge ton of Lighting Potency

I got Clouds weapon to OB6 with 45K, I have 47K left and I'm saving. I could careless about the summer stuff as I hardly use those Characters. Vincent weapons will be wish listed. I've gotten so many Cait Sith 5* weapons and I never pulled when he came out. So no need to pull for him. My Zidane Cloud weapon is OB6 that I still use to this day. So I know I will be using this weapon in the long run compared to whats coming, so thats why I pulled for Cloud. Now it's time to save!

Spent 30k on the banner and got both costumes, Cloud's to OB4 and Zack's to OB2 (I was prioritizing him too LOL.) I already have Thunder God Cloud fully built up but wanted my first arcanum for Zack. Rounding out my chars since the new towers released. Summoning for Aerith if its a healing arcanum, skipping Vincent since I can build him up in the future, then going all in on Anni.

@@CharEst13 I think taking the LB sword to OB6 far outweighs the value of taking the Glavenus sword from B5* to OB1. The damage increase in Glavenus is decent, but you're casting it in most cases once maybe twice a fight, whereas the Stream Saber gets a huge jump in damage, you chain cast it, plus the R Abilities jump which affects you're whole party.
My vote is take LB sword to OB6, then continue to save all weapon parts for future events, or at the very least in the future take Glavenus to OB1 and then stop. Anything past that would be a waste of those parts imo since 1200 weapon parts aint coming to get that thing OB6 even in the next year probably.

I am a day 1 player so I don't find this new banner attractive / not what I need for my account at all tbh. I have Cloud's Zidane Sword to OB10 after many months of playing. I might pull on Zephy's banner before it goes tbh. I really need a good Wind setup for my account.
Oh yeah if you got Zidane sword OB10 that's solid, but i would grab a single copy of Cloud's sword! Even if you just used your free pull and got a 3* you can use 210 weapon parts to turn it into a 5* for that buff which will be super solid paired with your Zidane sword.
When will Tifa and Airith's clothes come out? Are the clothes summer or MH themed?
I’m hesitant to say next week because they will probably wait 2 weeks for it to drop so players are more pressured to pull the first banner. Hold strong!!

Why is the 1 year anniversary goal 80k blue crystals as in what do you think 80k will get you? To ob6 one banner or is that enough for 2?
The 1 year anniversary will last 2 months meaning from now til then at 25K a month gets us 125K crystals. Thats enough for 2 banners up to OB6.
Going in with 80K means you will get more crystals during the event so by the end you really have 100K+ so yeah the idea is to have enough to OB6 2 banners. I never pull for OB10 i think it is overkill but that’s just my thought + these weapons are WLable supposedly each Anni

Clouds lightning because of an monopoly is the best in game for 9 months,til now. Just saying. Plus we still don't have much in strong earth,
I view the 4 page banners til you get to the gear. So 12 nodes. That's 3*12=36,000. 3*6=18 if you get 2 chocobos each time

Yeah he will be very strong but remember that nothing is a permanent sub. We are confined to the mechanics of boss battles, and most require 5-6 mechanics to beat. But yeah id say a lot of the time he should be able to slot it and its FANTASTIC

This banner is amazing don't get me wrong, it just depends on what you want. So if you like Summer and you like Vincent, this takes that away. 1 year Anni is just SO good since we can likely WL old LB draw weapons that it seems almost essential to arrive with crystals on hand. So i just wanna take that stuff into account for you all, but i mean, if you are skipping Vincent/Summer, then 100% pull for MH collabs haha

I agree with you 100%. I'm personally waiting to see what Tifa and Aerith will get in the next banner. But at the moment, even though I don't have Arcanum, I don't think choosing Zack is a good idea. I defeated Leviathan, so I don't have any pressure for him. And yet his R.Ability seems low to me, especially PATK. Lightning potency is good. Cloud's weapon, however, is SSS R.Ability for me and it would definitely replace his second-hand weapon in every build. Fire, ice, lightning, water, goes with everything. I was an inexperienced player after the first crossover in the game and I practically use one thing from it 70% of the time. So, to sum up, I'm also waiting for Vincent. I'll be drawing from his banner so I'm keeping some of the crystals for him. Knowing that Lucia and Yuffie will be on the summer banner is a total skip for me. I'm waiting and deciding when everything will come out of the crossover. 80k crysztals so I think I can pull for one thing.

@@BodhiJMSRyder Yes, as F2P it's even more necessary to count everything. I really liked how you counted how many crystals there will be by the 1st anniversary. Have you considered a season pass for this. Because if so, I would have to look at how much I can save without buying anything.

The probability that you will get to the first costume is 36% when spending 18K gems, 66% with 21K gems, 88% with 24K gems and all but certain for 27+ Gems. It wiill never happen that you spend 33 or 36... essentially mathematically impossible in your time playing the game.
Never say never 😂 I spent 33k on a previous banner for 1 page.. but I was lucky on this one! I had no lightning Arcanum so I went for it. 15k gems and got 2 copies of clouds wep, 1 Zack plus the costume. It all comes out in the end. 15k for a Arcanum is a win in my book 🍻

I went all in with 40k for Zack weapon as he is my main DD. Cloud was skip, gut 2 copies of his weapon on the way anyway
