I have spent last 2/3 hours solely in your channel. I was looking for canon m50's sigma lens review in youtube. And ended up listening quite a lot of videos. And finally here i am . With the books. I love reading books and read a lot before university. But i am out of practice in reading books . I have to start reading again. Thanks sir. You are an amazing presenter.

Set aside one hour a day to make art, any type. After a month it will be habit and you will drastically increase your output. Family and friends may buy a few pieces off you and your career has begun.
I love this channel. So many excellent ideas and I like the host.
    My favorite art books:
    - Art and Fear by David Bayles
    - Daily Painting by Carol Marine
    - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy 1 by Tim Gibson

Hi Todd, three months ago I bought the book about Wabi-Sabi (following your recommendation) and the truth is that I loved it. Now I am looking for inspiration and that is why I have decided to return to this video. The next book will be Landscape Painting. Thanks!

Thank you for such a great list of thought provoking books. A book I recommend is Art and Fear. It is a short read and everytime I read it I fall in love with it again. This book is more focused on the artists perspectives of their work and success but can easily be applied to anyone's perceived mental obstacles. Again, thank you for a great video.

Awesome man! I love hearing people talk about inspiring books. I recently read Creative Quest by Questlove and it got the creative juices flowing. Business for Punks by Brewdog was also really interesting. Love the channel!

Really great list!! I strongly recommend reading How to be Like Walt by Pat Williams. It’s my favorite self help book because it’s perfect for any creative person and visionary. It’s also a fun read

Rick Rubin’s new book, The Creative Act, would be right at home on this list.

I’ve only just found your brilliant channel. I too love Leonard Koren’s Wabi-Sabi. If you don’t know it, you might enjoy a short essay ‘In Praise of Shadows’ by the Japanese writer and novelist Jun'ichirō Tanizaki (out in paperback and maybe on Kindle). It’s on the aesthetics of light and shadow in traditional Japanese culture. And for a photographer it’s important to make friends with shadows and appreciate their subtlety, so I’ve found it a helpful read.

This sounds amazing! Shadows are mystifying to me. One of the hardest things to "get right", and very much defines the character of an image. Hmm...I sense a future video topic!

I think another novel by Ryan Holiday is worth looking into not only for creative focus, but for personal comfort and happiness. It's called Stillness is Key I recently finished it and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Thanks Anthony. I haven't had a chance to get to that one yet, but I did read Ego is the Enemy and found that to be solid as well.

Thanks for the book reviews. I check out Landscape Painting for sure.
May I ask what type of lens, for phone or camera could I use where my forehead isn't a foot tall? Thank you.

Thank you Todd! Right now I’m doing a Polaroid SX-70 Country-themed project, but am in a constant state of falling into the “why the hell am I doing this?” phase. Been asking who am I even creating photography for? If I didn’t show these to anyone, would I still enjoy it? Is my love for photography directly connected to how many likes I get? The first book on your list will be an automatic pickup for me. Would love to know your personal thoughts on this and if you can relate!

Do you have any recommendations for people who are too logical for creativity? I want to become a creative person but it’s not natural to me anymore 😞, help!

Good video, but Plein Air painting isn't at all what you described. It just means painting outside from reality.
