    The 1252I you mention is an NCP1252 current mode controller. The two 200 V caps in series are right next to the voltage selector switch and the circuit around the switch is called a voltage doubler circuit...Maybe next time when you review the internals of an SMPS make sure you understand the topology and circuit.

    For the output - there are three positive and three negative terminals. Do those share a single rail? I want to get one of these, but it needs to power 4 devices. The power supply is rated for the power draw from all four. One thing mentioned that I didn't think about - I need to make sure I get one that regulates itself under load.

    Nice informative video. I have a couple of questions for you.
    I have one of these in my Creality Ender 3 Pro 3D printer. It has been a good supply, but every so often the stepper motors will run really slow. The only way to fix it is to cycle the power supply off and back on. It does not happen very often, but it has done this on two different control boards; one an 8-bit board and the other is a newer 32-bit board. Do you think it is a power supply issue?
    My second question concerns the fan. I saw another youtube video saying that the 12v fan is actually running on24v, Do you think that is true or is the 12v coming from the center tap of a transformer?

    • @InsideOutElectronics
      @InsideOutElectronics  Год назад

      Thank you for kind words !
      IF only ONE motor is slow this mean that stepper driver is overheating or overdriven !
      Can you swap motor with another motor and test ?
      I do not think so - judging by a schematic
      mobilemodding.info/mean-well-lrs-350-24v-teardown/
      it runs at 12V ( on 24V power supply )

    Thank you for this cool video! I'm about to replace te fan by a Thingiverse cover with a giant 120 mm Arctic Silent fan - not audible running at 800 rpm. The air flow of that big fan is way higher than of the small 60 mm stock, but due to the low rpm the pressure is lower. So I would like to measure the temp somehow to see if the fan's flow is strong enough to cool the power supply down... is there a way? Which component measures the temp to switch the fan on and off? One alternative is to place a sensor in and do comparison measurements, but is there an easier way? If it works, I can only recommend that huge fan. Absolutely NO noise, not at all!

      @@InsideOutElectronics На умных зарядках он поэтапно токи даёт. Сначала какими то миллиамперами чтобы вытащить из дна, затем идёт этап с ограничением максимального тока, а в конце батка снижает ток приёма, когда достигнет миллиамперы cut off. Я могу заменить резистор в этом БП подкорректировать напряжение с 12 на 8.4 вольт, а ограничить ток тоже надо будет чтобы бп не ушла в защиту, а для аккума слишком большого тока не будет, там ёмкость 120 Ампер. Модуль или бп специальный не нашёл короче 😅😂

    This one is in half bridge configuration that is why there are Two 200V rated filter capacitors at the primary high voltage side .. They are in series ... and the Switching pulls power from them one by one ... ... That's pretty much what you will see in a ATX power supply ...

    is the fan header 12v?

    • @drozcan
      @drozcan 4 года назад +1

      The reason I ask is that 12V fan runs like a jet engine, maybe they are running it at 24V?

    • @InsideOutElectronics
      @InsideOutElectronics  4 года назад

      I can measure, but fan is 12v. If they take 12v and run it at 24 it certaily would die

    The voltage is rectified and passed through a transformer prior to getting to those capacitors which is why 200v caps are just fine. Na Zdrovie!

      Вот да, тоже прям аж внутри переворачивает, когда слышу вот этот закос под "accentless english", в то время, как русский говор даже без звука слышно. Перед кем выёбываться только своим якобы "флюинт инглишем"? Говорил бы уж нормально, с нормальным своим акцентом, как это делают неанглоязычные блогеры. Но этот закос, о господи... 12 секунд. Ровно на 12 секунд меня хватило этого видео, хотя жаль. Тема интересная. Но не могу я слушать вот эту попытку выпрыгнуть из штанов, чтоб звучать, как "нэйтив американ"... 🤦‍♂️

    Opening the case and not immediately discharging the two huge capacitors marks the presenter as an amateur, and the subsequent commentary confirms this. This video demonstrates inappropriate and dangerous procedures and should be ignored.
