I’ve never understood why people get so confused/annoyed around Sayaka’s wish. Kyosuke’s legs were injured but nobody was concerned about that because it was stated multiple times that he’d be walking again soon. Even with his hand, it’s not like he was never going to use it again at all. The issue was specifically that he would never play music again, let alone at the prodigious level he was at pre-accident. The accident itself and the severity of his injuries are left pretty vague but everyone’s concern (including the hospital staff and his parents, however briefly we see them) is about his inability to play again and the effect that has on his spirit. That’s why Sayaka’s wish didn’t include healing Kyosuke’s legs, besides her simply being a 14yo girl without perfect judgement.
Good analysis, if only you also talked about Rebellion, cuz not only did the whole cast get fleshed out even more, but Homura's character also genuinely peaked there at the moment
Oh I quite enjoyed Rebellion, I only watched it once though, so I didn't feel qualified to analyze it. I may do a follow-up video on it at some point though, particularly once the sequel comes out. :)
Amazing analytical view of a classic. It's hard to believe that this show came out over a decade ago!. I remember cat hyping this video topic off on stream! I can't wait for his passion essay project, Episode 16.5 of SAO, to come out
Thanks Chibs! This video took forever for me to make, so I probably was hyping it for way too long LOL, and oh boy just you wait, i'm comin'- it's coming.
So glad that I found this video + channel!! Loved the video essay (specifically because it's the right length to keep my goldfish brain focused on it-) and I'm both excited and nervous about your Sword Art Online analysis mainly because I haven't watched it-
This comment is super encouraging to me, thank you!!! I was wondering if the length was good, I figured a video essay shouldn't be longer than an anime episode, lol. Hopefully my SAO one comes out in a timely manner 😬I'm re-reading the books now so I can make sure I remember everything, and can explain it in a way that even people who haven't watched SAO can get something out of it.
