I have an 83 Civic 1.3 5 speed that lived its life behind a motorhome. The odometer says 125, 000 mi, but I think the engine wear is a lot closer to 30,000. The car was completely original when I got it and it now has all the maintenance done, tires shocks clutch drivelines bearings brakes and more. It's been garaged It's whole life. The rock chips on the hood and the front valance where the easiest thing to fix. Runs and drives really well. I spent a lot on it but I think it was totally worth it. 56 MPG at 55 miles an hour. Gas in Nevada is about 4.50 gal, worth it. It still has a lot of life left.

I purchased a brown 1983 Honda Civic DX, new and little features. I drove that car from Southern California to Canada. I love that car and wish I could buy another one

If that's really a Hondamatic, you've got to shift it. You can drive around all day in second gear, but you have to move the gear selector 1, 2, 3, 2, 1 as you drive around. It would be a much better driving experience.

There is a OD symbol, a star symbol, and an L symbol on mine. OverDrive is for low gas usage, star is normal drive, and L is for mountains and tow usage. They stay around the same rpm but still speed up.
