I actually like a lot when Floor sings in low registers. I know most people are always expecting "that note", when she belts like crazy, but her singing in low registers is great. I love when she sings "Slow, love, slow" on her concerts.
I love how they wrote "Voice of Floor Jansen" at the beginning like there is somebody who wouldn't recognize it anyway 😄
Well, deaf people... subtitles are often there for them. ;)

Her job in the new album is phenomenal I think.
Floor makes everything sound so easy that people really underestimate how much control and technique are required from some of NW's newer stuff like Tribal, Weak Fantasy or even Shoemaker
Shoemaker is fiendishly difficult.
I think what I really always liked about Floor is how absolutely humble she is.
She's her best and worst critic herself which in turn always gives us these magical things to hear.
Cannot wait for the album. If Perfume of the Ttimeless is any indicator, it's going to be fantastic. And, most importantly, it will be something new again.
We've already heard a lot of critics, but most of that to me sounded like the age-old 'do a new Once' once again.
Nightwishes strength has always been that each new album sounds different, but is always signature Nightwish still.

I concur. Once is there always to be listened to, if one wants that again. But bands that do the sane album again and again and again become dull quite soon, imho. And i couldn't imagine doing the sane thing over and over again for decades... It would quite honestly kill me and all creativity in me.
Ps. Wouldn't it be twice, 3rd time etc? 😁
And people think Tuomas doesn't use all her abilities huh.. just because she doesn't sing opera all the time doesn't mean she doesn't use it all. Sing a lot with no air and going high and low with short space in between, takes a loooot of flexibility. It's much harder to do that than singing full opera, in my opinion. Im really curious to hear what she can do on the new album!
I like the fact that Nightwish show us behind the stage processes that create this unique music and productions. It's inspiring and very interesting to hear their thoughts and ways of making their music alive. Thanks to Nightwish and their crew.

Floor is such an inspiring woman! I loved to know how the process of recording the voice happened. It makes us appreciate the songs even more. Floor went through so much ups and downs and always doing an amazing job. I'm glad to know that her needs as a recent pregnant woman were respected an she was able to record her part in her home studio. This is truly embracing women in metal. Floor's voice is beautiful, from the lows to the highs notes and I love how she performs the songs with good dynamic.

I love Nightwish and Floor Jansen more than any other band and musician, and one of the reasons that I'd love to see Floor as Nightwish vocalist FOREVER is because of the fact that with Nightwish you constantly face different sort of challenges as a vocalist and that makes you grow and improve!! Versatility is something that opens new doors before you, expands your abilities and makes you know yourself better, makes you know parts of yourself that were unfamiliar to you before, and only by facing challenges, and going through the edges you can take a step further into growth ... Wish you unending creativity, and motivation and "Million Loves" to you NIGHTWISH!!!

Always been impressed by Floor's low,even when she sang alto together with Simone, it was full and rich.The highs are always awesome.
Great video series from Nightwish. I love seeing the band members in this environment. And listening to them "tell their tales" is a treat. As for Floor....well, she's Floor Jansen!
p.s. I loved "Perfume." Ignore the complaints about the mixing.

@@nicosilva8724 Sorry Silva, "most of the time people are right" on a topic that is subjective by its very nature? And "people?" What people? No, I don't think so. For starters, I very much like this version of "Perfume" mixed just the way Tuomas released it. Those that don't like it...well, they can just not like it. Nothing wrong with that. But that doesn't mean they have some superior insight into how it should sound.
@@tonyg8471 i'm all for different opinions and viewpoints on music, after all that's how it's supposed to be. but there is no denying when THIS many people are commenting on the mix - particularly the mix in the chorus where you can barely hear her at all despite her clearly belting - something has clearly not been done correctly perhaps by accident. as for the 2nd half of the song when the rest of the instruments pick up tempo people think it just sounds like a garbled noise. however that part IS up to peoples opinions, some might like that
@@andoobs2 As I stated above, I have no problem with differing opinions on this. Music is a very subjective thing. But this release is not a live performance. This is a professionally produced video release of the first single from a brand-new album. Anything can happen in a live performance, and I suspect the post-production mixing of a live performance might present different challenges than the mixing of studio recordings? However, I cannot imagine how Tuomas and the production team involved in this studio recording would allow a release of this track that differs in any way from what they intended to create. I really like it. Others do not. OK, no problem. I love the Nightwish sound of the Floor Jansen era. I am not particularly fond of the Tarja era. Tarja's sound does not work for me. But I will never question Tarja's talent or propose the idea that Nightwish tracks during her tenure had some "error" that make them sound less pleasing to me. Others clearly prefer Tarja's sound over Floor's. No problem with that either. I suspect I will really like Yesterwynde, exactly as it is released.

Hearing there's lower parts in the songs aswell makes me hopeful to finally be able to sing these in their original tone! Can't wait to hear all the songs! 💜🤘🏻

As we observed, we can observe how, they educate their citizens quite well. I wonder, how a metal band can produce beautiful music that makes me proud to belong to this style of music. Learning about history, philosophy, poetry, love is too little to express my feelings to this musical band, thank you for giving us all your love.
I have always liked the warm resonance on her lower registers and thought we hear it way too little - never ever thought she might not like it herself.
If the voice of Goddess Floor is being pushed to the edge of what she can do, I can’t wait to hear it. I can’t wait to hear this new album. And I hope they release another single very soon.

Congratulations to the entire Nightwish team co-ordinating this new album Yesterwynde.👏
After a few crazy years since their last release,between confusing and contradictory COVID mesures, repeatedly canceled shows, loosing Marko, introducing Jukka, 6 months planning the Virtual Show, and then a whirlwind tour schedule!
- I recall Tuomas giving the band the new songs (music & lyrics) at the start of their Human. :II: Nature. tour.
- In Oct - Nov 2022 the NW HN tour began, Floor had been recording her solo album, her breast cancer was reported & treatment undertaken & the operation was scheduled between 2 weeks of touring in South America and 2 weeks on the road in Europe. 3 weeks after the operation Floor was back performing a show with Nightwish!
- Floor’s solo album was released in March 2023. She did a tour for it also.
- Floor’s pregnancy was underway but not announced until later in the year.
- June 2023 Floor was unwell and NW show had to be cancelled.
- The guys went straight to a retreat to finalise the songs for this Yesterwynde album.
- Floor had her 2nd daughter.
- Now we hear she recorded vocals for this album from her home studio!!
- Vocally in amazing shape but HOW!! 😱🤯‼️

There is a depth and warmth to Floor's lower register that I just love! Happy to hear it will be showcased on this next Nightwish release. I have complete faith in Tuomas as the captain of this ship. However which way he has decided to steer this ship, I'll follow and support.

Singers have to be Artistically Diverse & Flexible. And..approach Singing Technique differently as they Explore Different Music Genres...like Floor often does.

Been watching reaction videos for Perfume of the Timeless and a lot of the reactors were disappointed that Floor's voice was kind of subdued in the mix. I thought it sounded fine.

Para a Cantora mais completa e versátil de todos os tempos, tudo que Você cantar FLOOR vai ressoar muito bem, vai trazer emoção e alegria, vai dar vida as letras Geniais do Thuomas. Eu já vi uma porção de coisas que sua poderosa voz é capaz de fazer, até mesmo cantar com uma lista telefônica. Desde a primeira vez que ouvi sua voz (Semblance of Confusion-After forever), em 2002 até hoje e sempre vc será a melhor voz deste planeta. Não é só uma questão de potência ou extensão ou variações de estilos, que você tem de sobra, mas principalmente a forma de ressoar sua voz, de interpretar aquilo que está cantando... é incrível, já caí em lágrimas várias vezes, quanto mais a gente escuta mais percebe novos elementos em sua voz, como se tivesse várias tonalidades ao mesmo tempo, algumas pessoas tem a sorte de perceber isso, é surreal. Eu particularmente adoro a versão aguda da sua voz na música Pan, how's the Heart, sweet curse (revamp) e tantas outras. Enfim... Sou um fã incondicional de Floor jansen e me tornei fã de Nightwish, conhecendo a riqueza e profundidade das letras e a construção das músicas e afirmo com Toda certeza: É a melhor Banda da História. Obrigado Thuomas, Floor e todos do Nightwish por tantas emoções.
