My biggest hurdle in starting a similar project is finding clips that will fit a 2x4 and attach it to the rail. I ordered the same product that you listed here but the two parts when connecting dont touch if that makes sense, theres a gap between the two and the bolt is exposed. Is that how yours is as well? did you rip down the 2x4 to fit better? the fit seems different. at @11:58. thanks for any help you can offer!

Yes, we planed the boards and made an inset for the mounting clamp. I think 1:54 in Ep. 5 gives a better view of this. Let me know if you have more questions!
