Man, Holman's position at release and through was so solid. Pete obviously great, too. I think people marginalize the work and refining these guys had put into their game.
This is classic bowling n tv at it's finest. Fuckin aye. I saw this on tv. 1994. Thank you, you tube!!! With your phone, u have the world at your fingers. Kick-Ass LMFAO
2 🐐 2 of my favorite since the 80s! Love the styles between Pete and marshall with Pete having that high back swing side roll and marshall's low backswing smooth roll approach
I won an amateur spot in the 1982 Tucson Open, both of these guys were there. I stunk the joint up, but it was a great experience, they crossed me with Earl Anthony. I was leaving after the qualifying rounds, and as I got into my car, the door of a motor home parked next to me opened and several PBA members spilled out, including Webber. The cloud of smoke that poured out the door when they opened it made me high.
@@Mark-sj3xb It was a long time ago, for sure... but it's what happened.... pretty sure he wouldn't deny it if asked (although I doubt he would remember one particular night). He's been pretty open talking about that stuff in the past.
I have been watching the PBA since 1979. I like the way they used to give the bowlers age, weight, and height when they first appear. We have all sorts of information today down to the breakpoint but we can't list the bowlers stats anymore. Probably because of vanity.
They were two of the biggest jackasses on the entire tour for basically the entire of their careers. They'd have had those demeanors if they were bowling against a 5 year old girl or by themselves.
Thanks for posting. Remember these glory days of the PBA Tour.
Two legends with reputations of being bad boys but off the lanes they were very different. Note how well-dressed the spectators as a whole are.

I agree whole heartedly. This was before resin and back then the ball didn't do the work, the bowler did.
2 of the greatest without question!
I don’t like either guy, but, man, their releases!!

4:45 one of the few smiles from Pete against Marshall, Roth & the like he kept his composure he knew he couldn't out psyche guys like them
Pete is one hell of a bowler, seems like he never loses, he's a firery competitor.
Pete is 37 and 30 in championship games. (This match was a semifinal.)
Till he plays williams jr.

I didnt know the pros hung out that closely
@@ConquerCollin Oh, hell yeah. I'm pretty sure most of them room together to share expenses.
Seems like a bogus slanderous story. Easy 30 years later to spread lies they not hear to defend selfs

@@Mark-sj3xbyou're a square if you think it's slanderous to say someone enjoyed something as innocent as weed.
Incredible athletes

They didn't want us to know Norm Duke is 7'3".
Two gigantic egos clash.
Any lip readers here? What did the Bald Ego say at 1:40?
that ponytail is epic
Ridiculous
That ponytail makes me want to puke. It's so ugly lol
Do these two dudes like each other? They both seem so surly.

blakfloyd I second that. I loved holman’s meltdowns.
4th arrow Burton, not 3rd. He always gets that wrong.
He'd aim for the 3rd but throw it on the 4th cuz he's Bo-legged.
Rumor has it Bo asked for Marshall’s hand in marriage after the telecast.
Not sure about his game but Pete's hair was at it's absolute peak here.
That ponytail lmao
TadRapidly I
You’re forgetting the years he had a mullet.
No one’s going to say anything about the rat tail?

It says actually popular in the late 80s and early 90s. By 1994 it was going out of style, but Weber dances to the beat of his own drum.
Those commentators really did not want Pete Weber to win lol
6:38 Hi mom
Man how bad did this announcer want Holman to win?
The stash and ponytail are killing me. Can’t breath.
Were is the match where Holman threw Pete's rosin bag at him?
Wasn’t that Norm Duke?
Holman reppin' southern Oregon
No sun glasses?
Is Pete Weber wearing a wig from 1776? He always has had strong hair games!!!!
Nice dial up tone
I bet Holman was tempted to kick out a foul light or three during this match.
I love it when Marshall is pissed off while bowling.... which is pretty much every match
Is it a requirement for bowlers to have bad haircuts?
Two bowlers I can't stand
A couple of kids with a napoleon complex
Two of the worst attitude bowlers in history.
What a jerk creep holman was.
