I was saved from the occult in 2020 and finding Dr Heiser was an absolute Godsend for me! His work helped me understand everything I had experienced from a biblical worldview. If I hadn’t had a biblical explanation of the disembodied spirits of the nephilim, how would I have had an explanation for the spirits I was engaging with every day, and the complexities of the spiritual realm that I already knew about from personal experience! His 6 hour lecture on Gnosticism was like gold dust! Thank you for making this video, I was absolutely disgusted to see their disingenuous attack on our late brother. How dare they spout these absolute lies about him! His work is very much needed in this hour to help the body of Christ fully comprehend the complexity of the spiritual war we are in. We are at a time where there are people in ‘the church’ who believe that the lesser gods people worshipped/worship are just figments of their imagination. It’s crazy that Doreen of all people would do this, she should understand why comprehending all of this is so important to evangelise to so many still in the occult, and to equip us all in this hour. God help them. God bless you all 🕊
YAAAS! Myself as well! He helped me to make sense when other churchies were saying to forget it like it never happened. Doreen's conversion was the trigger for me to completely submit to the Lord. Just as all the supernatural was ramping up in my life. I found Mike Heiser, Greg Reid, Through the Black, Russ Dizdar, they all helped me to make sense of what happened and grow in my relationship to Christ. However, Doreen became calvinist and cessationist, and almost completely denies the supernatural. Her and Marcia Montenegro.
@@truth2btold568 I’m so blessed that you have been saved out of the realm of darkness! It’s good to know that considering how much influence Doreen had in your deliverance, that God has given you wisdom and discernment not to take everything she says as gospel. I have listened to her here and there, but recognized that she has, for no better words, thrown the baby out with the bath water
It's amazing how many Christians refuse to acknowledge and confront the supernatural world. They say they believe in Jesus, but can't bring themselves to admit there is a supernatural world all around us, which is fundamental to the spiritual warfare we all face. The Enemy is real. The best trick he's ever played on us is to convince so many professed Christians that he's just a figment of our imaginations and that he can't hurt us.
I think I've seen about every video of Dr. Heiser and was fortunate to take his Unseen Realm course the first year he taught it at Awakening School of Theology. I can confidently say that if Dr. Heiser was still alive today he would easily dismantle these critics in short order, and do it flawlessly. I miss him dearly.
Mike could do that, easily, as could, the folks who worked directly with him. The fact that these people come after him, with nothing but their opinions - is probably why they are not responding to the nonsense of their baseless accusations.
Sorry I’m not even through the first clip and it’s utterly apparent the critics haven’t done their homework. I’ve heard Heiser on many occasions (including RR) say that he hasn’t come up with an original thought regarding this topic and is simply “connecting the dots.” To state that Heiser claimed he was the first to come up with this worldview is ludicrous and seriously undermines the validity of their claims and puts into question their motives for doing so. I’m grateful Remnant Radio is taking the time to set the record straight. Great job guys!
It's pretty disgusting to disparage a dead man based on lazy opponent research. Slander. Demands public apology for their lazy research and public accusations against Heiser.
I’m an academic (not in the same field as Heiser) and the way these people (the critics) are talking about him is embarrassing. They don’t understand scholarship or academic study at all.
Be willing to bet neither do you. The problem with Michael was his covering for the Catholic Church. He outright refused to tell their history of murdering bible believers. I'm a historian, so when you claim to be an academic it makes me wonder what you mean. That being said I cannot prove Michael knew he wasn't telling the whole story or if he just got his information exclusively from modern Catholic historical revision books. Doreen isn't even a Christian. A bit sad not one person in this chat knows that.
Facts. I have a doctorate in a secular field, but it was immediately clear. How long ago did Dr. Nunnally graduate and where from? Does he not remember the accountability required? It’s unreal for them to suggest he was rogue and all on his own and completely undermine Dr. Heisers integrity.
'Academic' in the secular world is not the same within Biblical scholarship. Sure, someone can say a Bible verse can be translated as "Elvis is alive and we're all dead, and I'm the very first, ever, to interpret the Bible this way" , and call it 'scholarship,' but you don't treat the Scriptures as "re-understanding quantum theory' or 'the first 10 seconds of the universe, in theory."
@christychapin8357. I'm in academia was well, having learned both Biblical Hebrew and Greek. And I know that Heiser was off on many things because his interpretation methodology was wrong. This means his "scholarship" and "academic study" were flawed because he used flawed methods.
Heiser has done no wrong in his scholarly work. Love his work. He is missed. It seems cowardly to critisize him after he has died since he is not around to debate.
@@kevinevans8892 The difference being Heiser just recently passed and was active up until his death. I'm with @carmengale3311 on this. The timing is cowardly...especially the tactic of going after the man himself with obvious falsehoods rather than just his scholarly work.
@@amberwarriorprincess4010 that’s what I was going to say show me a RUclips where he did debate he doesn’t debate because he knows that he has theology that has thousands of holes in it.
@@amberwarriorprincess4010 yes of course he said he would NOT debate anybody, including these four people who are credible, who are born again, who are biblically sound and so no Brother Heiser would not want to debate with them (nor did he) of course not when he has 1000 holes in his theology.
Dr. Heiser was my professor at AWKNG School of Theology. He was a brilliant Bible...Hebrew...and ancient history scholar as well as a very logical thinker. Remember: Mike said he never had an original idea, thus his work was solidly built upon the scholarly productions of many many other researchers. Got a problem with Dr. Heiser's positions on certain matters? Well, you also then have a problem with numerous other scholars.
@johnbrown4568. And yet Heiser can be shown to have engaged in eisegesis, Scripture twisting, and bad Bible interpretation. So what he never had an "original idea"? What does that prove? Liberal scholars had been teaching all kinds of bad theology for years, the same liberal scholars Heiser learned from at his liberal graduate schools. So yes, many of us have all kinds of problems with liberal theology, whether it comes from liberal scholars, or one who claims to be evangelical but brought liberal theology into evangelical circles, without enough evangelicals calling him out for it. Everyone is not blindly drinking the Heiser kool-aid.
@@soundmind6477 I beg to differ. Heiser engaged in Scripture twisting and distortion. This has been demonstrated. So how great a "blessing" such things can be, time will tell as more people realize how off Heiser was at points.
@@soundmind6477 You just claiming my comments are baseless is itself a baseless comment. Myself and Heath Henning have done six videos so far, detailing in Hebrew and Greek, how Heiser was wrong. The series is called "The UnBiblical Realm: Refuting Michael Heiser's Divine Council w/Heath Henning." With hours of arguments and evidence, there is plenty of basis for my comments. Unlike you, I've actually done the research to know what I'm talking about.
Saying Michael Heiser is a heretic is a profoundly goofy thing to say. These heresey hunters need to quit this spiritual echo chamber and work on their own integrity. IMHO
The critical video makes sense when you think about the hyper concern with church history and orthodoxy. There’s a reason Heiser was one of the only Christian scholars who was respected by secular scholars. He didn’t compromise truth for church teaching.
Doreen Virtue often talks about and with Jim Osman and plugs his books (he is Justin Peter's pastor) and they are all MacArthurites. This is concerning bearing in mind the articles and comments on the Roys Report website and elsewhere. They are all also cessationists and DV and JO repeatedly claim that no instructions were given in the Bible on how to cast out demons. Jim Osman repeatedly claims Luke 9 which destroys his claim that only the disciples / apostles were given authority to cast out demons is "very unclear" and says: "My response would be 'so what'?" Doreen Virtue and Jim Osman have both repeatedly made disparaging comments on what they call "the tagline 'in the name of Jesus'" which if it isn't blasphemy borders on it. I could go on, but that should suffice.
Doreen has also made similar untrue claims about Derek Prince while branding him a blatant heretic. An example would be that Doreen claims that he taught Christians could be possessed which is not true. Derek Prince had an exceptional knowledge of scripture and was qualified to teach Greek at university level. He was always very careful to explain that true believers cannot be possessed as they are sealed by the Holy Spirit. (Ep 1.13) The Greek word 'daimonizomai' is often translated as ‘demon-possessed’ but simply means ‘demonized’. This can mean to come under the influence of a demon or demons or become subject to demonic oppression, and terms used are ‘with an unclean spirit’ or ‘have a demon’. According to scripture, it is the correct understanding that even a Christian can be ‘demonized’ or suffer demonic oppression if he allows his thoughts, actions, or attitudes to be influenced by demons. Considering Derek Prince is a foremost Bible scholar who had a 60-year ministry during his lifetime and another 20 years since his death in 2003, most of that worldwide, and has helped millions, that is clearly not acceptable. Derek Prince may have made mistakes during his ministry, Research shows his mistakes were not that terrible or long-lasting and it appears he had good intentions and he made a public confession, repented and turned away from it. Doreen herself has made far more serious mistakes - and to my mind continues to make them - but apparently that's ok!
She’s become a puppet of what my Calvinist friends call “the reformed militia.” They are hyper-cessationsists who convinced Doreen that her conversion was initially false because she saw a vision of Jesus. And they “know” that “He doesn’t do that anymore” 😅.
@@Mrs.E_78I agree, a change. I didn't get it at first, but I suspect it's a people pleasing sort of thing. She is putting someone on a pedestal instead of Jesus and it's leading her astray. I'm praying for her!
@@SavannahSedaiShe didn't have the comments turned off when she first started her YT channel - she shut them down later to avoid any critique or pushback while continuing to criticise others from a safe remove - which doesn't say much for her integrity. I wasn't particularly a Heiser fan but I felt this should have been done when he was still alive & able to answer back - the tone just felt rather gossipy & back-stabbing to me.
@@caroldonaldson5936I'm not defending Doreen on the Heiser issue, as I believe she's wrong. However, your assertion on her comments being turned off is opinion on your point, and against her statements of why she has comments turned off. At this point, you are being slanderous in your claims.
@@caroldonaldson5936and to be fair, with how gossipy you are in your comments, while in the same breath claiming that as a bad thing, maybe disabled comments would be a good thing in the Christian YT community.
@@tookie36indeed. Origin said CRAZY stuff in private, but as speculative theology, not as heretical teaching. The dude wasn't afraid to ask hard questions and wonder. It doesn't mean he perverted Christianity. The "heresy" after his death was because some people came afterwards and tried to turn his speculation into controversial divergences. Similarly Heiser is DEFENDING orthodoxy, against the modern cynical semi-materialism of modern western bastarsized Christianity.
Yeah . . . I also felt weird about the criticism toward Heiser. I do take issue with his treating the book of Enoch as if it was canonical Bible literature when it's not. Other than that, I find his theological position to be valid. I really do believe we evangicals are taking too much license with critique, but I say this with caution, as now I am basically 'critiquing' Doreen Virtue's critique of Heiser. Lol I don't mean to make light of such an important issue. But we humans really do have a tendency to come down on each other. We think we are doing it only for spiritual reasons and don't always realize when we are 'picking on' each other. I caught myself doing it to my mom the other day and had to admit I had been being a little self righteous. 😅✝️💖
@@End_of_Days LOL you keep saying that. Please answer my question from another comment. Modern Bibles in English have to be called "versions" for legal reasons. Why is this?
@@FireflowerDancerI don’t feel he treated Enoch as canon. In fact he even says it shouldn’t be. However it does help us understand the mindset of the people of the time.
Exactly this is ridiculous. Listened to many of his videos, the only major issue is he often ends up presenting a solely academic perspective missing the important context the text was given to know the heart of God. So it can be quite dry to a Christian as far as taking away meat for their Christian walk. But the same can be said of many pastors that do the same thing focusing on legalism and doctrine instead of the person of Jesus.
Doreen Virtue was featured on Heiser’s podcast, so I’m disappointed to see that she’s now criticizing him. None of these people show any indication to me that they’ve actually read or understood Heiser’s material.
Yeah, she was featured on his FringePop321 show as well and she certainly wasn’t criticizing him then either…. Doreen Virtue also isn’t qualified to critique anyone, her own conversion story has received revisions over the years. I don’t trust her, she’s an accuser of the brethren and wolf in sheep’s clothing
Dr. Heiser believed that Scripture is best understood in light of its literary and historical context. He was a patient and humble teacher, with an outreach to those who were into the paranormal. He was devoted scholar who was not afraid to change his mind when confronted with new evidence. I did not detect any agenda other than "what does the Bible actually teach?" Heiser's strength was his ability to "get into the head" of ancient Israelites. It would be hard to find anyone better in that respect. His weaknesses was possibly not interacting (very much) with scientific and non-text based archeological findings. Had he lived, it would have been interesting to see him interacting with BioLogos types. The charges that he was non-orthodox are bogus. Instead of covering up difficult passages, he dives into them and shows how they do not violate the Christian orthodoxy.
I think a lot of his error revolves around the fact that he effectively omitted the fact that the concept of the "divine council" was a long-standing teaching within Jewish merkaba mysticism and kabbalah etc. Once you start to appreciate what the occult applications of these concepts are all about, I think Heiser's claim that he's not conflating orthodoxy with Gnostic worldviews gets rather weak.
Great work Remnant crew, the clips you guys pulled from Doreen and then the rebuttals from old clips of Dr Heiser or citations of what he wrote was very well done. You were generous in giving benefit of the doubt to Doreen and crew, but you did not withhold speaking the truth in love, because what they said about Mike and his teachings was wrong, uncharitable and slanderous. I’m really thankful you were willing to call them out to repentance. May the Lord add the increase to your labors for the Kingdom. One love!
Thank you, guys. I take Doreen with a grain of salt: she tends to swing a little too far in the other direction and be too black and white because she's trying to stay safe in her beliefs. I can understand that because I was once into New Age too. But she shouldn't be putting her personal thoughts out there when she's not well-informed and it's based on emotion. I've gained a lot from Heiser's work and miss him!
I agree. I think it’s because she is reading her new age past into it. The other guys are as bad as the catholic church not wanting the ignorant public to read Latin. Anyone who can’t handle the hebrew and greek should just shut up about heiser.
@@e.m.8094that's because she had a false conversion story and she attacked Christians who pointed it out. She's had comments turned off ever since. My only issue with Michael is his going incredibly soft on the Catholic Church.
I bless our sister Doreen Virtue for her powerful testimony and her zeal for the truth. I have noticed in some of her content that she tends to reflect that syndrome, if you will, of coming out of a radical thing like her New Age background and then taking the exaggerated pendulum swing to the opposite extreme. Kind of like her background is the main prism she evaluates doctrines through ( "when all you have is a hammer, all you see is nails") I think she gravitates toward not just orthodox Christian theology, but maybe some of the more extreme or fringe expressions of it. Dr. Heiser definitely pushed the envelope, but he was a solid Old Testament and Hebrew scholar with a grasp of the Ancient Near East that brought some valuable discussion WITHIN the pale of orthodoxy.
@TheRemnantRadio I think Hieser made a big mistake that most people fail to consider. Yes, there is a divine counsel. Yes, the "sons of God" are spiritual beings rather than humans. But the fatal flaw of Hieser is thinking that the "sons of God" physically manifested in Genesis 6, rather than considering it a case of spiritual possession. What's more likely? Spirit rebels(sons of God) posses extremely wicked warrior men who were known for gratuitous violence and exploiting women... OR... Spirit rebels can physically manifest whenever they want? Before anyone responds, ask yourself the following questions: 1. Isn't "coming in the flesh" something special that only Jesus was capable of doing? 2. Why does satan (The most powerful rebel spirit) have to posses Judas instead of just physically manifesting himself? 3. Why don't rebel spirits just physically manifest whenever they want... to poison our drinking water, push a believer down the stairs, or any other evil act they can think of? 4. If possession of wicked humans happens by rebel spirits FOR SURE multiple times in the New Testament... Why wouldn't it be the more likely explanation of Genesis 6 and other unclear passages in the old testament? I think Hieser is excellent in much of his work through the years.... but I strongly disagree with his take on Genesis 6 and Genesis 1:26 Have you guys seen any scholar say Genesis 6 is an example of possession?
Doreen Virtue is NOT her name, it is a stage name she adopted as a new age influencer. If she had actually repented of her satanic new age teaching she would have forsaken all, including her stage name and the income stream from her new age books which are still in publication. [Acts 19:19]
@@inTruthbyGrace Thank you, InTruthByGrace ! I am a sub to DV's YT channel & have enjoyed much of her new-age related content, but DV attacking Heiser posthumously without rock-solid Bible is bad. DV is out of her league and out of her lane. Keeping her in prayer.
Really appreciate you guys making this episode. As a young adult raised in a conservative evangelical church I really struggled when I first encountered the Book of Enoch and found it was quoted in the bible. And when I went to look for answers, I found many conspiracy and herectical indiciduals who spoke against the canon. It wasn't until I found Heiser on this show that I was able to understand how to engage with this, among other issues, in way that is in line with the text and well as the faith that has been passed down to us. Heiser often said that his goal was to connect the average christian in church with the best of christian academia and he (along with shows like Remnant) certainly did that for me. With his books, podcast, and work at Logos, he equipped many to love God not just with their whole heart and soul, but also their whole mind as well. And for that I, among others, are greatful. Thanks to the three of you for waging this defense, and I encourage anyone unfamilar to go check out his actual work to understand his teachings better. (Also Wave kept saying his teachings were "novella" instead in of novel, which made me wish all theologians tought exclusively via short story)
@@philipbuesing6745 Book of Enoch falls under the Jewish myth category, which we are warned about and told to ignore. The Bible never says Enoch wrote anything. It merely says he prophesied. Besides, the book of Enoch contradicts scripture numerous times.
It's not baffling when you consider the work of the antichrist spirit at work in today's society. These Christians should NOT have born false witness against Heiser. They knew better.
Doreen has a false conversion story. She's not a Christian or she wasn't last I heard a few years ago. But Michael kept things from Christians and never told the truth about the Catholic Church history of slaughtering bible believers.
@emaccus. NO, she is not. If people would pay closer attention instead of looking mainly to defend Heiser and find fault, they would see better that there is REAL cause for concern. Heiser was NOT the best Bible interpreter, since he was guilty of eisegesis and distorting texts by taking them out of their immediate literary contexts. That is dangerous stuff, and people need to see this for what it is.
@@truthseeker5698 I am a born again Christian. I am an official member of an evangelical, independent Baptist denomination. Theologically, I lean towards "Reformed." I do not consider myself a "Calvinist." I appreciate John Calvin's body of work. Why are you asking these specific questions?
1:11:30 One of my most memorable moments concerning Heiser is one of his lectures where he had this big powerpoint going over Duet. 32 & Eschatology and he says this: If you know more about angels and demons and nephilim than you do salvation by grace through faith in the crucified and resurrected Jesus Christ, you are in grave danger. That has been a staple in my sharing this worldview with friends and students. Heiser was solid, despite teaching his niche. He contributed what no one else was contributing. Niches are good, and don't mean they are neglecting the cores of faith.
I was vaguely aware of this pushback on Heiser for a week or two now, but I really wasn't paying attention. Thank you, Remnant Radio, for tackling this current issue. Obviously, Doreen Virtue and the others are dragging Mike's name through the mud and are extremely disingenuous. The question is, why now ? Edit: One more thought. Heisers scholarship is so good that he is responding to these detractors from the grave. 😂
Probably their patrons are the thrones, dominions and such and of course they don't want God's imagers to know the facts. Evil wants men ignorant and real evil often times uses human agents.
Doreen is doing this because she is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She turns off the comments in her videos and only talks to people who will agree with her. She started making videos as a baby Christian and continues to make them out of ignorance and ego. She is unqualified for the reach that she has in the RUclips world.
//Heisers scholarship is so good that he is responding to these detractors from the grave.// This was my exact thought!!! Its almost prophetic how specific his response to them is, like, if you didn't know better, you could make it look like Heiser is responding to them in the present.
You know Michael Heiser is an absolute genius and without his wisdom and his guidance I really never understood the Bible completely I am a biblical scholar and to be honest with you after seminary and all the other education I received Masters level as well as PhD I have never had any real dealings with the Divine council and once that became obvious to me everything opened up the whole entire plan of God opened completely and I saw the Bible completely in a new light there is no heresy here whatsoever I pray the doctor Heiser has met with God and Jesus and all the apostles and everyone else he wanted to meet in heaven and I know one day I'll have a chance to meet with him too and I cannot wait for that day God bless Dr Michael Heiser
I have a suspicion that this kind of nonsense is why a lot of scholars don't bother engaging with non-scholars. The level of ignorance and misunderstanding creates such a gap that it makes engagement a complete waste of their time.

Doreen Virtue is one of the last individuals I would pay any attention to. She has a lot of work to do on herself, so she should rather first focus on herself than demonstrating her ignorance and pointing fingers at individuals who do know what they're talking about. Dr. Heiser was an amazing man.
"Hieser said that it was God plus the angels involved in creation." I have watched many of Heseir's lectures and read three of his books, and he always made it abundantly clear that the "angels" had nothing to do with creation other than observe. It's a shame how they are lying about him.

People are increasingly reading second temple literature. And people like Heiser are literally the ones helping people read the stuff for what it’s worth. I’m pretty upset because Heiser literally is pulling people out of the abuse of these texts. People are going to read the stuff… Heiser demonstrates the value of it without promoting a “lost book of the Bible” “secret knowledge” outlook. It’s called historical studies.
People have poor listening skills. People don't know how to read and comprehend what it's written. The guests in Doreen's video are a perfect example of this. We hear a word of phrase that upsets us and we latch onto it and stop listening to what is actually being said. We just start running off with our own preconceived ideas.
Yeah and that is what people do when they claim Enoch is quoted in the NT. They see words or phrases and leap to the conclusion that NT authors were quoting the book of Enoch.
@@br.m Quoting and reffering are not the same thing. DMH to my knowledge didn't say that NT authors were quoting but reffering to Enoch. There are enough Bible passages that cannot be ( adequately) explaned without relying on non Canonical sources. This doesn't mean that we are elevating those texts to the same level as the Bible, they are simply the tools used to better understand what the Bible is speaking about. The Bible was not written in a vacuum. DMH explains this very well, in a logical way that is hard to dispute.
I have been an apologist since 1982. I dealt with the New Age movement on university campuses in Texas. Believe me there was a lot of fringe stuff going on. Aliens, abductions, giants, you name it. I have had to deal with those topics in churches; y people would be surprised to see what kids listen to. If we don’t deal with this then we have relinquished this to the History Channel and the Ancient Alien people. That is where Dr. Heiser did us a huge service. He did not value his scholarly career above getting the truth out. When I saw Doreen’s podcast I was greatly saddened. Dr. Heiser was a humble servant who esteemed it a great ministry to make the Bible known to all people. Thank you for this great response video.
1000% Correct!! Makes me wonder what motivated this inicial interview. “Who” inspired it? I’m willing to bet NOT the Holy Spirit. The enemy would love for us not to deal with it. And these people aided that end.
@Dr.ReginoRamosJr. And yet Heiser can be shown to have been guilty of eisegesis and twisting Scripture to make things "fit" his "divine council" liberal theology. As an apologist, you should know how to discern if someone is being truthful or deceptive in reading and interpreting the Bible. If you have never found any problems with the way Heiser did exegesis, then I would question your apologetics.
@@CRoadwarrior Let me put it this way, there is no one who has it all together, that is why the church has dialogs- the church councils etc. You have Calvinists, Coventialists, Arminians, Dispensationalists, and I could go on. I never said that Dr. Heiser was perfect, but he did delve into the difficult passages. This breeds contempt among “scholars” and laity that have issues with people dealing with these topics. If you have read a large portion of Heiser, including his scholarly publications you will come to understand that he had a strong hermeneutical foundation and did not practice nor did he promote eisegises. I assume since you are calling my apologetics into question, and you are bantering technical terms to and fro, that you know 1 Pet. 3:15 where we are told to use gentleness and respect when practicing apologetics. When we wear our calling as apologists on out shirtsleeves we are open to misrepresentation and misinterpretation. Heiser was such a one.
@@Dr.ReginoRamosJr. Actually, I have read some of Heiser's scholarly works, and I have watched him in video form. And I can say without fear of credible contradiction that Heiser was indeed guilty of eisegesis. This I PROVE in the series I've started dealing with Heiser's views. Let me give you just one example of Heiser's eisegesis and twisting of Scripture. Heiser in his book "Reversing Hermon" (pages 128-134) claims that Paul in 1 Cor. 11:15 meant "testicle" instead of "covering." Really??? And where did Heiser get this? From Scripture comparison? Sound exegesis of the text? No. A man named Troy Martin and his writings, claiming that ancient people (including Paul and his audience) looked at female hair as a reproductive organ of some type. But that idea is absolute, convoluted, nonsensical, eisegesis. Heiser did NOT do sound exegesis of that text. So yes, I am well aware of what Peter says, but we don't ignore the facts while living out what he wrote. This is not about having it "all together" but simply doing the most basic research to learn whether or not Heiser is correct or incorrect in much of his theology. I've been doing apologetics for some time, and after starting to investigate Heiser, I began to see how bad he was in his hermeneutic. How Heiser (and Martin ) butchered 1 Cor. 11:15 is a perfect example of how bad he was. And despite how utterly ridiculous and fallacious that "testicle" claim is, what's even worse is that people STILL try to support that claim from Heiser, regardless of the Biblical and logical evidence against such an asinine reading of that text. And if you have a problem with my approach, talk to Paul and how he addressed someone in Acts 13:9,10. When you do your homework well enough on Heiser, you see the problems in his theology. So I suggest you do better.
Heiser's view of the council caused me to elevate Yahweh even higher than I formerly had! Raised Christian, became atheist, saved miraculously, completely worshipful... then found the Deuteronomy 32 Worldview, and now even more worshipful! (And by the way, Calvin isn't in the Bible. Thus I conclude, Nephalim are more important than Calvin.)
I grew up singing the Doxology every Sunday which contains the line "praise Him above, ye heavenly host". The "heavenly host" is what Heiser calls "the Divine Council" - it's not really anything new. As for the charges of polytheism, the Hebrew Bible does this (use of "eloheim" for beings other than God). Translators have covered this up with their (mosly correct) interpretations, but anyone studying Hebrew would have to deal with this. Heiser explains that "eloheim" is a term similar to "spirit" or "spiritual being." However, he constantly maintains the uniqueness of the creator God. So we wind up with one creator God, and other supernatural beings both good and evil, and humans, created in God's Image. I'm not seeing why this is a problem.
To be Scriptural, I think a phrase like "Praise Him ye heavenly host" would have to be referencing verses like Isaiah 6:1-4, Luke 2:13-14, or Revelation 4 & 5. The exact roles of angelic creatures like seraphim and cherubim, and the "angels...four living creatures...[and] elders" of Revelation, are debated. An effort to map these one-to-one to Heiser's view of the Divine Council would be a heavy lift.
@@aaronvienotsigh... have you read Heiser? There's a difference between angles, seraphim, cherubim, etc... these spiritual beings are not all angles, but they are all elohim. They are all made by God. The anthem invokes heavenly hosts (elohim) to praise their Maker.
@aaronvienot The problem is that culture has lumped all heavenly hosts into the category of 'angels' when not all beings in heaven are angels. An angel is a messenger. Seraphim, cherubim aren't messengers. All heavenly beings created by God have different roles. They are not all angels, but they are all (small case) elohim. What makes created beings in the spiritual realm elohim? It's an easy answer. They were all created by God, who, by the way, is (large case) Elohim. Why are all beings in the spiritual realm called small case or large case elohim? Because they exist in the spiritual realm.
Thank you for defending Dr. Heiser and his work since he's not here to defend himself. Doreen Virtue and those she rallied to participate in that uninformed, disingenuous attack on his peer reviewed work crossed the line from "defending the faith" to "attacking the faithful." I pray God will soften their hearts to repentance and give them the wisdom to accurately aim their weapons of warfare here on out.
Some people engage in theology bravely even if that means unconventionally. Heiser was one of those willing to follow the Biblical text even if it meant breaking with convention.
The story of Simon becoming Peter at the Gates of Hell has become so much more very special after hearing Dr. Heiser's teaching about it! Just like when a Jewish Rabbi explained to me the Jewish belief that there might be 2 Messiahs expected - a suffering Messiah and a conquering Messiah. One would be slain for remission of sins & the other would heal the sick, make the blind see, etc, as well as destroy God's enemies & establish the Kingdom. Knowing this interpretation of Old Testament scriptures puts a totally new light on John the Baptist sending followers to Jesus asking, "Are you the one? Or do we look for another?" John had already announced Jesus to be the Suffering Messiah or Lamb. Jesus' answer was to tell John that the lame walked, blind see, deaf hear, etc! Those were all qualities of the Conquering Messiah! Therefore, He was THE ONE! John wasn't having doubts at all! It makes so much sense when you know the culture & teachings of that time. And we who have no idea what those cultures & beliefs were have totally interpreted that so wrongly! How many other things in the Bible are misinterpreted by us? Scholarly teachings like those of Dr. Michael Heiser or Dr. Ken Johnson who teaches about the Dead Sea Scrolls really bring the Bible, it's teachings & it's stories to life for me! ❤
Our brother in Christ, Michael Heiser was and is a gift to The Body(.) I, like many, have been edified by his contributions to The Body & his labors in Christ. Thanks for taking the time to respond on his behalf
I am extremely thankful for Michael Heiser work and no matter the critic here it actually only help’s understand more that religion and religions persons have a lot to unlearn and learn because understanding the Gospel of the Kingdom like the late Myles Munroe teaches proves that one can easily discern the sharing today on this video. Shalom
Thank you for addressing this and defending the late Dr Heiser. Felt sick to my stomach when I saw her video. She wont allow comments on her YT so it's good that you and others speak up for him.
Than you for doing this video. Unfortunately a people like myself were stunned at Doreen not only after all he had done for her but I truly believe she knew better and watched as she put words in Michael’s mouth, literally on her follow up interview. I have a gut feeling she misused Heiser’s teaching to bring attention to herself. She’s become very prideful and I sense the spirit of that and manipulation.
Exactly. She had plenty of chances to ask him herself when he was still alive. And as these guys showed it doesn’t take a lot to find out how many times he himself refuted believing any of these lies they have cast on him. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour!
i’ve watched videos of other people that she’s deemed heretics and she’s never even spoken to them. She slanders without any basis. Slander is actually the work of the devil, it’s what his name means. She’s still trying very much to control what everybody thinks just like she did when she was in the New Age movement. she was at the top of the list in the New Age movement and is wanting to be there with her Christianity, but it doesn’t work that way. She’s seeking the limelight anyway she can.
Thank you for responding to Virtue’s hit piece. If Christians don’t hold each other to the highest standard of integrity then we take God’s name in vain. Great job!
There is so much substantively wrong with Doreen's critique. But the elephant in the room is that she waited until he passed to produce the critique. I don't care who you are, but that is a cheap shot and a cowardly move. That alone undermines her whole premise. Bad Doreen, bad!
This video has come at a FANTASTIC time. I’ve been seeing a number of commentators recently coming out to criticise Dr. Heisers work and have struggled to find people cross examining their critique/defending Dr. Heisers work. Good to see Remnant Radio holding the standard for honest criticism and analysis 👌🏾
I am a reformed Presbyterian and I was truly blessed by Dr. Michael Heiser's work, although I disagreed with his non-creedal and non-confessional statements, and arminian doctrines. His divine counsel worldview helped me greatly and deeply enriched my Bible reading and study like never before. I am ashamed of my calvanistic and reformed brethren who have slandered and misrepresented Dr. Heiser. This is not what we are about. I did my own research by listening to many of Dr. Heiser's lectures, sermons, podcasts, and interviews and I can honestly say with a clear conscience that he was doctrinally sound and orthodox. Doreen and her company were too lazy and operated out of pride to discredit a brother who wasn't around to defend himself. And it was cowardice on Doreen's part not to raise her concerns with Dr. Heiser while he was still around. But thankfully all his works are freely out there to defend him. I hope the Holy Spirit convicts them of their sin and brings them to repentance. Thank you guys for faithfully debunking these prideful lazy critics of Heiser. I love your shows. Keep up the good work brothers. Your labour is not in vain.
Reformed Calvinism simply has another christ. Impossible to cohere coalesce with Jesus The Messiah. The greatest witness to this comes from those who are not Christian’s, ie; rabbis , atheists, judges who are aware of Calvinism reformed conclusions. Dr. Heiser punches your supposen chosen theology right in its face.
I’m so appreciative that you’ve made this video, I was so upset with that Doreen Virtue interview- they accused him of so many false things! I’ve read his books and that interview skewed what they were actually about. He based his doctorate off the unseen realm study- which took him 11 years- so if it was teaching against the Bible then he wouldn’t have received his degree. I don’t know why they feel the need to attack his work, it seems to me they missed the point completely and just went straight to accusing him of being a heretic. Sad times when people start attacking a dead man who can’t defend himself.
Yes took him 11 years and guess what Doreen was doing ten years ago? She was reading tarot cards and casting spells!!!! And now she knows more then Michael is laughable!
She has comments turned off… I’d have just not aired the video tbh, mr heiser was a fantastic brother in the faith and helped many people study the smaller stories from the bible, I have nothing but respect for the man.
Yup she does and starts she had the right because she won't argue with no one and thinks she is right. You should view what she says about the Jesus calling writer.
To be fair (and this does not mean I agree with all her teachings, but I do care about her), she explains that the reason comments are turned off on her personal channel is because she doesn't have the resources to manage it. She does have a Facebook group. However . . . The group is legalistic, and when I joined, one of the moderators tagged me in a bunch of threads saying that deliverance ministries are apostate. It just felt like drama. I was super bummed, I wanted deep relationships. I still do!
He had students, who follow his path. I heard one of them in a podcast and you really can hear who teached him 😊. There is a similar way of thinking and distinguishing, which is good. Besides that there are other Christians who discovered the same topics he did, but they are coming from a more adventureous side, are mostly autodidacts without the university background, but they know his work also. These may be debatable in parts and don't are that overcarefull to share thoughts and research material, but that doesn't mean they are bad or false. They are more on the research side of things, not neccessarily teachers. I think he has his legacy and it will stay, because it can't really be denied content wise. He did his homeworks.
Thank you for doing this! I'm glad you pointed out the disingenuousness (and may I say rancor?) portrayed in the video. Just want to make one comment on Heiser's exegesis of Gen 1:26. If you reread what he actually says in Unseen Realm, you will find that Heiser affirmed that only Yahweh did the creation. The other elohim were observers. The grammar goes from plural in v 26, to singular in v 27. May God continue to bless your ministry! ♥️
I find it disgusting and cowardly for them to do that hit piece on Heiser well after he is gone and able to defend himself, and they didn’t even have the spine to allow comments. Off the top they lie in saying he claimed these ideas were his alone and that he was pushing his voice as an authority. He countless times explained his approach of open mindedness and faith. As well as his writing was not new material but based on the works of other scholars materials. Maybe new to us the general public. He was transparent that he was dealing in theory and interesting patterns in language that gave such theories some room to breathe. Her whole spiel in the beginning, in light of their lies, makes one wonder how much truth really is there to her claims of closeness. Like you guys mentioned where was her debate then? My guess is they bandied his respected name to get channel hits and to glorify themselves in their hypocritical and close minded attacks..which is what false teachers do. The main gist of his message was that God and many Bible events were supernatural and that we might gain a better understanding by looking at it through the eyes of its writers who had no concept of our modern age. I dont know that I can agree with all the interpretations/theories he made available to us, nor do I believe he did. I do know he inspired faith, keeping an open mind, and encouraged the yearning to learn more and read more. Oh by the way he did not see Enoch as canon but rather a book that was referenced in the Bible and containing important contextual understanding if not other nuggets of information. If they are truly well meaning Christians, maybe they should have spent the time listening to his many podcasts and reading his materials…possibly checking to make sure their reading and listening skills are not blinded by ignorance, bias, or rushing through. Cause if they truly knew his material and what he said, they could atleast disagree with out being bald face liars.
Take heart, he may be gone, but he has defended himself - decades worth of published material in print and media that folks like Remanent Radio can pull his own words from to refute the misrepresentations - is Heiser defending himself 😉
She doesn't allow comments on any of her videos. That way she can say whatever she wants without dealing with conflicting points of view or proof against whatever she is putting out there.
Doreen claims she actually knew him, but claims she hears hom say he invented these ideas? I've seen multiple lectures by Heiser where he himself opens up each lecture by saying how he discovered these ideas, and that he didn't imvent any if it, it just had no mainstream voice because of cultural drift away from scripture. Then the VERY people attacking Heiser for saying he invented it attack him for not inventing it, while claiming, simultaneously, that his ideas are problematic because they're novel. Then they claim those who corrct them are "trying to have their cake ad eat it too"... its a criticism rooted in slander that uses its own incoherence as evidence of a different contradictory criticism. This is a vile sort of attack that isn't even interested in internal consistency, this is how marxists and he world argue, it's like how letists argue, words aren't even rational they're just the tools used to gain power or "win"
Yes!!! Dr. Heiser's work has only brought me closer to Jesus the Messiah, the one who is worthy. I am more assured of God's love for me and His amazing sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection and a deeper understanding of the freedom and salvation it brings
@@truthbebold4009 It's kind of like an encyclopedia of some of his subject matters that you can look up. But I think they said 90% of it is completely new material that he was working on prior to his death.
I helped disciple Doreen with Steven Bancarz when she first got saved and I went public over a year ago on my channel warning people that she had gone down a really bad path. She's a fear monger. She's dishonest. She has lost the plot guys. Please please pray for her.
@@kelly_villalobosSteven’s last videos were him repenting of using his platform when he didn’t truly understand. He was humble and understood that he should step back and learn more, which is amazing. Doreen needed to do the same.
Yes! Thank you for saying this! I always saw them the same way until Steven stepped back from his platform to learn, while she’s gone off for the sake of her ego. She needs to stop. Somebody needs to do a deep dive on her because people are attracted to her story, but she is one of those dangerous teachers that people are drawn to.
@@kelly_villalobos He's good! He's just working a regular job and focusing on building practical life skills and growing in a local church for a while. Really proud of him for that. Instant internet fame and authority was bad for him as it is for any new believer and he had the wisdom to see it.
@@TheSanePentecostal thank you for the reply. His testimony moved me. I really liked his videos and what he had to say. I’m glad he’s taking the time off social media to focus on his relationship with Jesus. I do hope he will come back to RUclips when he is ready.
I personally feel like Dr Heiser’s work is coming to the forefront to prepare us for end times. It was warned that the end will come like in the days of Noah. We needed to know what those days were like. We need to know about Genesis six…. About the divine council and the lands and how they are divided up. We need to know about the land that was set aside for God’s people. Israel is the center. It’s a huge piece in the end days. I think God used Heiser to bring all of this back up so we can know what to expect and know the seasons. There are a few things that I’m not sure I agree with, but wow, my eyes are open!!! I see the spirit realm and the battlefield a bit more clearly now.
@@clifolson7438 I don't they're doing so intentionally, I think they just overestimate they're own level of understanding and are this making fools of themselves. In other words: they're aren't lying they're just dumb 😂
What a great program! I caught up late the program gram, therefore watching a video not live. Dr. Heiser work helped me to understand so many things that were always obscure to me. I reside in Costa Rica and I can assure that his message has motivated me and many others to preach the message of salvation to the ends of the earth to all the nations. Thanks to him I understand the true meaning of all the nations, thanks to him I finally understand Daniel and the princess - very obscure before reading his books- and most importantly I have now the true understanding that everything in the Bible is important. Thank you guys!Terrific work !
Great job. Fun video. Praise JESUS for Dr. Heisers work - it taught me to love and pray for those who think they know it all - because I used to be worse than the worst so I pray for healing and Unity in The Body of KING JESUS!!
Thank you for having Michael Heiser on Remnant Radio as often as you did. I found him during Covid because of you guys and he is a blessing to the body of Christ.
Thanks so much for this video. When I saw Doreen's video I was very upset because I feel they misrepresented Dr.Heiser . I feel they all need to issue an apology to Dr. Heiser family.
You guys know that Dr. Heiser would find this all very funny. Unfortunately we will not get to hear his wonderful witty retort to all this. But I can imagine it in my head and it is most satisfying LOL
Moreover, if anyone thinks Heiser came up with this stuff "in a vacuum," there are things called footnotes that one can read as well. Those footnotes usually reference other works, books and journal articles, by scholars who probably were writing about these things long before Heiser came around.
I would trust Michael Heiser before I would Doreen LOL! Strange she would spew her poison AFTER he passed because she couldnt stand a change saying that when he was alive.
Thank you for covering this. They are totally ignorant of Heiser's work. Yet they call him a liar and a polytheist. As you point out, they do not quote Heiser one time! That is shocking! They just make stuff up and attach Heiser's name to it. Their ignorance is astounding. I don't mean that as a stab. But ignorance, it is. They have no understanding of his work.
Miss Dr. Heiser and his teachings so very much. Can't wait for his last book to come out in 2025. Thank you all for doing this show and the others as well. It's such a great show, and my 15 yr old son loves this show, too.
Thank you for making this video. Now that Dr. Heiser is no longer with us, some people are making a deliberate effort to misrepresent his work and beliefs.
You are so right. I like DVirtue, but she started with inflammatory expressions immediately defensive about Heiserites and his cult. Second of all, nothing was based on debunking articles or books, or sermons, as you said. Third, Heiser as a debunker can also be debunked. He was very honest about certain topics too that were not of his interest, like eschatology. And, he always encouraged us, his students to read more about a topic and to think for ourselves. Here, a few words from a Heiserite cult follower. 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
And? Spencer Smith has a series on Gnosticism, even while he believes in the Gnosticism that is commonly accepted by traditional Christianity. A person can produce a series on Gnosticism while failing to recognize its influence in their own beliefs. Literally most of traditional Christianity's beliefs and customs were based on it, one of them being its fascination with mixing Christianity with philosophy.
I was baptized not too long ago and came across the work of Dr. Heiser shortly afterwards. I was already on “fire” but I do not have the words to describe how his work has positively impacted my faith and study/implementation of Scripture. On a separate note… one of the advantages of coming to Jesus “late in life” is that I see things that those who grew up in Christianity dont. For instance, pastors, leaders in the church, scholars, etc are all human beings and suffer from the same innate sinfulness that I do. I can spot that a mile away. It would not surprise me that some may be jealous of Dr. Heiser’s success. Dr. Michael Heiser freely admitted that he did not discover the information he presented and that it was always there. What he did was take scholarly information and dumb it down for an average guy, just like me. I’m so glad he did.
I initially went into lostening to Dr. Heiser expecting smthg like heresy BUT when he explained & emphasized that his theories weren't necessary for salvation or sanctification, I quickly relaxed on that and was able to losten to him more objectively.
Dr. Heisers research and Bibical scholarship was spot on. Interesting how these people come out after his passing. They would not have been very successful debating against him in person. Love Mike's work and books. Has really opened the scriptures on many topics.
Doreen disables comments on her youtube videos. And I can't describe how annoying that is. It seems... dishonest? no... cowardice? no... I don't have the words for it. But I think the audience deserves a voice and the opportunity to speak their minds about the content she (or anyone) posts. If she takes away their privilege to speak their minds, I don't believe she deserves to have a platform. And because she won't heed the voice of her community, I won't watch her videos.
@@bloggerty-schmoo2698 That's it. She seeks power and authority. Control! It makes so much sense now that I think about her background. Witchcraft is rooted in the need to control others. Her desire to control is what led her into witchcraft in the first place. Her character is beginning to make sense to me. Thanks!
@@LeahNicole... She'll be OK i think, however, she has to make it there just like everybody else. Doreen doesn't deserve and can't demand adoration just because she's Doreen.
Thank you for this video. I was so scared that believing him was wrong. He did not get these “ideas” BECAUSE ALL IS IN THE BIBLE. All his critics have not read and study The Unseen Realm with the Bible next to it. He did not say he was the first to open this up to us. His book told me how great our God is and Christ and the Holy Ghost. I am in awe of our God
i hope everyone understands Enoch as a history lesson into a reality that too many have forgotten or not even understood. what happened before the flood with the watchers is important because of whats happening today with ufo and beings here of evil. its obsurd what they did.. remember.. evil wanted him gone . so he definitely was upsetting evil. these people are sad. thankyou Mike Hieser for your work.
Ms Doreen is apparently a Calvinist. Has she never heard John Piper state his view of Psalm 82 and John 10 which matches Dr Heiser's? Piper has held this view for 30 years and his RUclips channel had an upload on this in the last few years.
Thank you guys for defending Dr. Heiser. I'm not charismatic nor am I reformed or a calvinist but I have always appreciated that you guys bring on so many different people to dialogue with... Keep up the good work...
Dr. Wave Nunnally was one of my professors in Bible college many (many) years ago. I have a lot of respect for him, and I'm honestly surprised he's not more in line with Heiser. I think you guys should invite Dr. Nunnally on the show to give him opportunity to explain his claims. That would be a great episode.
Same! I studied at Evangel as well and was incredibly surprised to see Dr. Nunnally making claims about Dr. Heiser's scholarship without seemingly having actually read his work.
I don't think the Nephilim are as "fringe" as some people think. It's not just an oddity mentioned in Gen 6th. They show up all over the place in Gen through 1 Samuel (often by other names such as Anakim, etc. which the Bible links to the Nephilim; e.g. Deut 2;Numbers 13). If you do a word study on all the groups linked to the Nephilim, they become quite significant. One of the most common criticisms of the Bible today ate the charges of "genocide" in Joshua. Heiser points out that the "completely destroy" language focuses on cities led by these Anakim. There's a lot more work that needs to be done here. I'm not 100% convinced that the Nephilim were actually demi-gods (although it's clear the ancients thought so). They may have been local rulers similar to the kings of Egypt and Mesopotamia, who engaged in selective breeding programs to create "giants". In any case, Heiser's work is relevant to making an apologetical case for Joshua.
The Bible mentions absolutely nothing about angels producing offspring with human women. This is what the defense for Heiser amounts to: ppl who believed what he did and claim he was some great scholar, even though the bible they supposedly believe in clearly shows Christ saying angels are incapable of procreating with anyone. The Heiser fanatics see what the want to see, and they convinced themselves that their beliefs are true.
I am soooo glad that those who appreciate Heiser's teaching and transparency are speaking up for him since he is not here to respond. He has opened so many scriptures for me and I am thankful to God for Dr. Heiser. The chat and comments have done a good job at making sure his legacy is known. Thank you Heiserites (LOL)
thank you for standing up for the late great Dr Michael Heiser ! The people that you reviewed should be ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! Bearing False Witness is a sin! Good job guys!
Invite Doreen (and her panel) on your show and have them defend their arguments (live) against the plethora of arguments, evidence AND research that you’ve provided ❤. I love you guys, and I love (and miss) Dr. Heiser. Thank you for producing this episode. What Doreen and those others have done is atrocious.
crazy... Dr Heiser was and still is instrumental in helping me with my walk toward Jesus and God... I find a lot of what they are saying so offensive .. Dr. Heiser always seems humble, thankful, knowledgeable and helpful . I think this is shameful, it seems to me that they didn't research him well.. RIP Dr. Heiser grateful that your words are still reaching so many!
Michael Heiser was instrumental in bringing me back to Christ from the new age. Those passages in the Bible that are glossed over in church. After coming to Christ and repenting I read the Bible from the beginning to the end in 7 months and it was the greatest book I ever read with new eyes and understanding thanks to MH. I keep reading and keep seeing new things thanks to the holy spirit. I miss MH and will always be grateful for his insight and work on this the Bible that is living and still speaks❤
And to not take it up directly with Dr Heiser when you had the opportunities to do so, but then wait until he passes away when his family is trying to keep his work and ministry going to help more people, is really a bad look.
It’s easy to criticize someone who can’t defend their teaching. Heiser was such a humble guy who loved the Lord Jesus. It’s sad that people attack him after his death.
Like what the Jews have done with Hitler. Watching his speeches you’ll notice he never once called for their genocide but made the Havannah agreement. Interestingly, it was Jews who infiltrated the church with the Scofield Bible which has lead to these dry bread teachings in cookie cutter churchianity.
I may not agree with everything Dr Heiser taught. However the miss characterizations and out and out lies I strongly object to. I couldn’t even finish the entire 2 1/2 hours. I think I made it 40 minutes in. I appreciate the fact that so far this video is addressing and validating my objections. Thank you.
Thanks so much for doing this show. Michael has pointed so many to Jesus himself, and inspired so many to dig further in the Word of God itself. These people need to repent for saying such things.
Why didn't these people challenge him while he was alive? The man was for truth and for everyone to understand exactly what the Bible is.He got me interested in reading the Bible again. I can never thank him but enough. RIP Dr. Heiser🙏

God bless you all 🕊
@@ForeverInFaith not just the occult but New Age, the alien agenda, sleep paralysis, etc.

That's probably why they waited until he died.
And with a considerable amount of class and grace.
Actually...he wouldn't even have given it any attention. He'd be too busy teaching those of us who want to learn.😊
Mike could do that, easily, as could, the folks who worked directly with him. The fact that these people come after him, with nothing but their opinions - is probably why they are not responding to the nonsense of their baseless accusations.
It's up to us now.
BINGO
By your logic it would be cowardly to critique the works of the late Joseph Smith's, Jr, seeing that he's no longer around to defend himself.
Dr. Heiser said he would not debate. Miss him too.
@@kevinevans8892 The difference being Heiser just recently passed and was active up until his death. I'm with @carmengale3311 on this. The timing is cowardly...especially the tactic of going after the man himself with obvious falsehoods rather than just his scholarly work.

@@AliceSusanHarding I wish you would go on! Did not know anything about the background of the people who are influencing her.

Yeah . . . I also felt weird about the criticism toward Heiser. I do take issue with his treating the book of Enoch as if it was canonical Bible literature when it's not. For those who actually read/listened to Heiser know he is not a heretic. Simple.

She seems like an airhead.
Dr. Heiser believed that Scripture is best understood in light of its literary and historical context. He was a patient and humble teacher, with an outreach to those who were into the paranormal. He was devoted scholar who was not afraid to change his mind when confronted with new evidence. I did not detect any agenda other than "what does the Bible actually teach?"
Heiser's strength was his ability to "get into the head" of ancient Israelites.
Yes. This. What does the bible actually teach. Not, what did some pastor TELL you it says.

I think Hieser made a big mistake that most people fail to consider.
Before anyone responds, ask yourself the following questions:
I think Hieser is excellent in much of his work through the years.... but I strongly disagree with his take on Genesis 6 and Genesis 1:26
Have you guys seen any scholar say Genesis 6 is an example of possession?

Heiser often said that his goal was to connect the average christian in church with the best of christian academia and he (along with shows like Remnant) certainly did that for me. People are increasingly reading second temple literature. And people like Heiser are literally the ones helping people read the stuff for what it’s worth.
Heiser was in the conspiracy community to debunk those guys and show them solid gospel.
You are a nonBible reading fool to make that statement about the teaching Dr. Heiser.
Heiser's view of the council caused me to elevate Yahweh even higher than I formerly had!

I think a man of God should seek to understand that phrase. Is Doreen saying that trying to understand is ungodly?
I literally heard Ken Johnson talk about this today in his video he recorded a few days ago. I appreciate Ken Johnson and Dr. Heiser too! 😊
The way Doreen did this cannot be interpreted any other way but as deliberate and premeditated act on her part as well as her guests.
@@Bella-yb6ggI know right! I’ve lost a lot of respect for Doreen because of this…
She accuses many
She has comments turned off… I’d have just not aired the video tbh, mr heiser was a fantastic brother in the faith and helped many people study the smaller stories from the bible, I have nothing but respect for the man.
I still do!
Man, I sure miss Dr. Heiser. 😞
Me too.
She pretty much thinks everyone is a false teacher or heretic.
@@gustingdis Bingo.
People like Doreen think they are the comparative to everything.
Anyone else super excited for the new Heiser book next year ? 🙌
Not a Heiser fan, but I am curious to know what the book is about...
Yes!!! Dr. Heiser's work has only brought me closer to Jesus the Messiah, the one who is worthy. I am more assured of God's love for me and His amazing sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection and a deeper understanding of the freedom and salvation it brings
His wife just posted a vid on his channel. She said he was struggling to finish it even when he was dying.
@@mare_sheep9724I've never even heard him speak about anything except weird issues that don't matter much.
@@truthbebold4009 It's kind of like an encyclopedia of some of his subject matters that you can look up. But I think they said 90% of it is completely new material that he was working on prior to his death.
Michael Heiser did not say he discovered the true meaning of Elohim... Doreen Virtue just flat out lied on Michael Heiser.
Thank you guys for this posting - especially bringing in the Heiser clips. That was awesome!!! It is greatly appreciated. 🥰
I helped disciple Doreen with Steven Bancarz when she first got saved and I went public over a year ago on my channel warning people that she had gone down a really bad path. She's a fear monger. She's dishonest. She has lost the plot guys. Please please pray for her.
What’s up with Steven?? He’s just dropped off the face of the earth. I really like him. I hope he’s ok.
If Doreen had these concerns while she was working with Dr. Heiser, did she ever address them to his face, like Jesus told us to do?
The scholars speaking against Heiser are clearly being intellectually dishonest.
Nothing we haven't seen before.
Moral deficit!
Thank you for making such a great defense for Dr Michael Heiser. God bless
I've been following Dr Heiser for 8 years and still do. Awesomeness. Don't trash my friend!😢
Great job.
Yes. The bibliography in his books are HUGE.
Or on his podcast the Naked Bible Podcast, references after references to other scholars work
I would trust Michael Heiser before I would Doreen LOL!
I enjoyed your video a lot. I appreciate Dr M Heiser. Thanks so much for your wisdom ❤️🕊️🙏❤️🕊️🙏❤️🕊️🙏
So ridiculous that they criticize him for saying the opposite of what he said. Literally.
Calling him a gnostic is hilarious when he has a whole video series about gnosticism.
I agree. I stopped listening because she seems to think she’s right about everything.

Keep up the good work...
why the need for a disclaimer after saying thanks??? They are born again Christians
@@theeternalsbeliever1779pls read or watch lectures where Heiser debunks the Sethite view & the kings committing polygamy view of Gen 6.
@@theeternalsbeliever1779 Where in Scripture does Jesus say that angels cannot procreate? Jesus simply states that angels do not marry.
They are very important to know about and have a role to play in the end times. Otherwise it wouldn't be in the Bible!

thank you for standing up for the late great Dr Michael Heiser ! The people that you reviewed should be ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! Bearing False Witness is a sin! Good job guys!
So sorry I missed this! Thanks for doing this video.
Lying about what a dead person said is the lowest of the low. SMH 🤦♂️
RIP Dr. Heiser🙏
