  • Just sold my house so I had to move my Case 580CK backhoe. Doesn’t have reverse and loses forward when it warms up so I figured I would take it to my dads house since he has more equipment and tools than I do, making tearing it in half a lot easier
Here is a link to the transmission repair on this 580CK

Nice! I also have a 430 farm tractor, love the simplicity and commonality of the case tractors of this era

I have a 1968 580Ck that will be coming up to my house from my late father's home. A lot of work to do on that awesome machine, but it is so cool. Subbed and anticipating the next video.

@@Timberland-Farmsmy dad did the clutch on this one when he was about 75 years old it is a big big process make sure you have plenty of heavy duty jack stands to hold sections up. I need to redo all the hoses on mine most of them are completely deteriorated or rusted nearly in half at the connections

@michaelkennedy2528 I knew it would be a large job so I decided to take it to my dads house where he has done much larger machines in similar condition. He has the know how and the tools to help me so I’m going to take it

U will not find a 580 that doesnt have steel patches on its loader arms. The loader is so boss, it'll break itself trying to lift something. The loader patch is apparent in this vid just like on my 580. You can see the additional layer of steel or the patch, which runs along side the extended loader cylinders. the lower support beams have been fortified with additional plates of 1/4 inch steel. additionally there is a cross member running between the two lower support beams that have been fortified.
This loader is so strong it will literally tear itself apart. I love my 580.

The book says it will lift around 3,500 lbs and I believe it. If not it could potentially lift more. Check out my build series on this machine. I ended up finding a clean set of loader arms off a donor backhoe I intended using for the transmission. The machine came out great.
      Thanks for watching!

Ive had one for about a year. Rebuilt many cylinders and a lot of other stuff.

Mine definitely needs the cylinders done, do you know how the swing cylinders are done? I’m currently rebuilding the transmission. Part 2 should be out Sunday morning

@@Timberland-Farms Leave the rear of the cylinders on the machine. Disconnect the rod end and pivot. There is clearance. Its not that hard.

That sounds like an idea. I was planning on pulling the cylinders and repacking them at work. I could do the swing cylinders in the machine

I’ll try my best but winter is slow on any farm, spring will be here before we know it and it’s is going to be a busy one

You should work on a sponsorship deal with an oil stop leak product. And maybe buy stock in oil dry.

It definitely has some leaks and could use a case of pig mats for sure
