Further more a belt does not signify ones strength or ability, but rather the accolades one has been gifted. Belts are signs for respect. I have seen many blue and green belts toppled by white belts with better fundamentals. Ofcourse thats not to say having achieved a higher ranking belt is not useful. The higher your achievement, the more techniques you will be taught. In judo most of the highly efficient and effective moves are closed off to black and brown belts, as they are fairly risky to perform for the person receiving. Certain chokes and bars can lead to broken bones, or in some severe outlying cases death.
