- This is a very short recap of the lore of Hello Neighbor, based on the game, book and animated series. Of course, several details of the story have been skipped for the sole-purpose of avoiding spreading misinformation, also known as "speculation theories".

Finally someone explained it simply. I've been reading the books and online threads about the whole lore and I always had to try and piece everything together, let alone find out what was canon or confirmed.
But I still wonder; how did the raven cult find out about these luck altering devices? Who or what even is the guest? What's the deal with those weird time loops?
Cool. I've read all the Hello Neighbor books, but still you gave me a few details, and you managed to shorten it all by 4 minutes.

Dude you are a god send. These games are trash but I still wanted to know the lore and you fit in every piece of media PERFECTLY. I never would have thought all those spin offs were the kids looking for Nicky. Thank you dude so much.

You explained it perfectly, but except for 2 parts. When you said "Nicky believed mr. Petererson murdered his kids" that is not true. In the books, Nicky finds a few broken VHS tapes and then plays them, finding Aaron accidently pushing Mya off the roof. Your second mistake is, in the books Trinity moved into Raven Brooks before Nicky.
You have to understand that the Book series had been de-canonized after the release of the Animated Series. The devs said they wanted to move forward with the lore, which meant they had to reboot the story. The animated Series is the newer lore...

Freeze, did you forget that Alex confirmed that it was the rescue squad who saves Nicky and Nicky saves Aaron. It's not the other way around. They retconned it.

Thanks for the explanation as I just started watching a supercut of Joseph Anderson play hello neighbor and had to stop at act 2 because it was getting a bit too crazy for me to follow but now I can continue the video knowing it is crazy but now slightly more understandable

Ok it’s clear that they only made this lore in order for marpat to make a game theory , but I still absolutely love the story that they have made and hope they continue it for a hell of a hello neighbour3.

Theres a theory that the guy you play as in hello neighbor 1 pre alpha is the one who knocked Quentin out at the end of hello neighbor 2
