Akiane is amazing. People were telling an 8-year old child to burn her paintings. Who on earth says such horrible things to discourage a child’s brilliant abilities? It’s absolutely baffling.

I don't think there has been a more naturally gifted artist in history. Nobody else at such a young age has painted with such realism and without being taught.
Go google Philip Pearlstein. He is in the history books. World renowned. Also check out Salvador Dali’s childhood work. Akiane is a good artist. I encourage you to take a broader look at the art world. There are many many other fantastic artists.

If u listen to her speak about her beliefs today, it appears she speaks less in detail about her relationship with God, more in generalities. With someone as detailed as she is in her art, it would seem only natural she would speak more in depth about her relationship with God. God is not just beauty expressed in art, he is a consuming fire , he chastises, and warns us of his return and his wrath for those who have chosen to ignore his laws. Every prophet of the Bible came to warn people of their pending destruction with the last one being John and his vision of Gods wrath ... we need to be careful when we are awed by people and particular gifts that seem ethereal , unreal , extraordinary...I too find her paintings moving, amazing, and fascinating , but we must always take into account the message one shares from this attractive platform and not let signs and wonders deceive us. Satan will come with great signs and wonders, as an angel of light, how easily will you be deceived ?
Girl, interrupted something is not complete when she speaks. But we don’t know the Lord Jesus His plan with her life. Beautiful gift. But when the cross is not central.....it’s like people call God and not use the name of Jesus . I take them less serious and doubt if the know Him. It is shocking to hear that someone could say anything negative about your work. I have been following your work since "Oprah" and I have always found your art and you as amazing!
I believe that the ugly negativity that she received at the beginning was specifically directed towards her Prince Of Peace portrait. Some people I guess though it was blasphemous or disrespectful. But no more so than any other of the many many portrait of Jesus beforehand. Maybe people didn't like that he wasn't drawn with pale skin, blond hair, and blue eyes. Maybe that's what triggered some people.
Miss,you dont know how Blessed you are ,your story is exactly backwards to mine,we started out the same ,while in the second grade I drew a picture unlike all the other students in my class,they made a blue strip for a sky and stick people with a green strip for grass at the bottom of their drawing.I made a blue sky from the top to the ground then drew flowers and blades of grass at the bottom,my hills had T-Pees with full colors ,my teacher made such a big deal about my artwork,it made me so happy.Then I started drawing everything I saw,for only a short time but my drawings looked exactly like whatever I looked at.My teacher told me to take a drawing home to show my parents,my mother couldnt believe I drew what I showed her,then my dad came home from work and called me a liar,that someone else drew what I showed him,then I got beat with a belt and was told by my dad to never draw again.That made me so sad yet I would only draw at school and never take it home again.Many years later I got hurt in a car wreck and had to learn a new job,no more being a carpenter,I wanted to go to college to learn art to maybe be an art teacher?The school asked me to draw three pictures,to try out for a scholarship.After going most of my life without drawing,I drew three pictures,it looked like hundreds of people were trying for the one scholarship,I was picked to get a full art scholarship and thats how I got to go to college.Now,just this year I started drawing again and I hope you go to my face book page to see my art,I am Vincent Miller and the only one holding my Beagle ,out of all the other "Vincent's"anyway,please look if you get a chance and have a Blessed day,thank you.

Oh bless she missed out part of her story when she was about 5 ,she went missing ,her parents and neighbours were looking allover for her ,and in the meantime ,Akiane, had Been taken up to heaven ,and shown around ,when she came back ,she had been given a gift ,that she could paint ,all these wonderful ,visions ,she has said herself they won't last sadly forever ,but the work she has done will ,the work is wonderful , and will be here for eternity !!
I love to paint And im self taught dont know very much we were very poor growing up. So i did not get to have much. But in my later years i have been able to paint its a passion. Im in love with this young girls story and her paintings are truly a masterpiece only God could have gifted her with such a talent. Beyond any painter i ever seen.. ❤

I am an 87 yo carver and dabble in painting in acrylics. My most satisfying works are when I connect with higher powers .... like in a trance state where time ceases to flow and you do things as if guided from mysterious forces. If you have troubles of any kind, I suggest you do "beautiful" artistic things...if only cutting flowers and putting them in a jar. PAZ

I hope Akiane is doing well. It is amazing when people reach their goals. They become happy and fulfilled. There will always be shadows who try to reach the light and simply disappear when the light overpowers them. They burn themselves and remain meaningless.

Oh bless she missed out part of her story when she was about 5 ,she went missing ,her parents and neighbours were looking allover for her ,and in the meantime ,Akiane, had Been taken up to heaven ,and shown around ,when she came back ,she had been given a gift ,that she could paint ,all these wonderful ,visions ,she has said herself they won't last sadly forever ,but the work she has done will ,the work is wonderful , and will be here for eternity !!
I love to paint And im self taught dont know very much we were very poor growing up. So i did not get to have much. But in my later years i have been able to paint its a passion. Im in love with this young girls story and her paintings are truly a masterpiece only God could have gifted her with such a talent. Beyond any painter i ever seen.. ❤

I am an 87 yo carver and dabble in painting in acrylics. My most satisfying works are when I connect with higher powers .... like in a trance state where time ceases to flow and you do things as if guided from mysterious forces. If you have troubles of any kind, I suggest you do "beautiful" artistic things...if only cutting flowers and putting them in a jar.

Cool video. When Akiane speaks makes my eyes water. People are rather primitive when they say burn the paintings etc. But part of human nature is to be envious. Glad she kept on going and triumphed inspire of such set-backs. Those wicked trolls like to parade here on You Tube it's their play ground. Maybe when they finally grow up their dream will be to do television, something more sophisticated like the magic round about. I never saw the Oprah Winfrey Show until this evening when I saw Akiane on it, what a delightful child. I had no idea of the sheer size of that self portrait she make. Her hair was like it was so real and natural and coming out the painting. Funny bit about the colour did you see that?
