Not just an amazing guitar player but a wonderful voice and an indefinably attractive rock persona. You can be watched indefinitely: all power to you dear lady!
I love Samantha's playing, but really love interviews where you get to know her. I had a similar experience in high school chorus class. I was doing Christmas songs, Disney soundtracks and trite song assignments when I was there to learn how to sound like Joan Jett and Ann Wilson.
A video of that was the track that flipped the switch in my head and really got me to listen to so much more of her music and then I was lucky enough to see her do it a couple of years ago as the encore in Birmingham - the home of Sabbath. Mind blown!
Mary Spender has been doing a thing about providing guitars for kids here in the UK and she plays a similar finger style. It would be interesting to hear the two hook up.
Mary Spender is great, but is pure finger style and VERY rarely use a pick; Samantha almost always uses a pick and hybrid picks. Their styles are very different.
Jennifer Batten lives near where I call home. She is light years ahead of where I will ever get to. Many players are, everywhere I go. Just keep playing!
The Aztec Gold “1956” Strat appears to be a ‘65. It’s got a rosewood fretboard, which happened in ‘59, anf the mid-‘60s transition logo on the headstock.
I wonder if the percussive quality that is so prominent in hill country blues got there because drums were forbidden in slavery times. It may have been a way to celebrate their roots within their bondage. Thank you for keeping blues alive.
What a lot of younger players don't realize is they are young. When the teacher tells you that you are holding the guitar wrong it's because if you play that way for 20 years your back and joints will be f@$%%* up even though it feels comfortable today.
If she thinks she has things difficult now, she should talk with Fanny, Girlschool and the Runaways. They had things tough, respect wise. She's correct about playing guitar. The ergonomics are the same for male or female.
Samantha, You are a terrific guitar player and singer. Irrespective of your sex or gender. I binge on your performances and you inspire me to play guitar and express myself every time. Thank you for you amazing career.
It's absurd a guitar teacher would say her technique is garbage, but not surprising. Great artists will listen to the mechanics and procedures then break the rules.
A female blues guitarist isn't niche or novelty, and I must stress this is my perception of things, but it's a trifle rare. So when a talented woman appears on the scene, there's an element of "See? Where are the rest of your sisters out there?" It must be said the stereotype for women is they gravitate to singing, of which Samantha Fish is quite talented as well. But music is an ever harsher business. And that more than sexist prerogatives could be the larger reason women don't pick up guitar. The investment in time and gear to become financially successful in such a cutthroat industry could make a sensible young woman with conventional private ambitions away from the stage to turn their hands to a more stable paycheck. Under such circumstances, Samantha Fish is not only talented but also resolute.
It's funny people telling people they're doing it wrong. You're holding the guitar wrong or your technique sucks... What do you think Muddy or Robert Johnson would have said to some GIT or Berklee grad telling them their technique is wrong?! Lol
What a joke. If the world was blind she would be less than mediocre but she is a visual rendition of a little blue pill for the 50 and up crowd. Sad sad days ahead if this is what the blues has turn to.
Agreed. I love the notion, that people look at a female guitarist in different way. Come on, women have been playing forever. I don't buy it & I feel when people talk that way it takes away from their credibility.
It was my pleasure meeting you here in San Antonio Tx. At Sam’s Burger Joint after you show you’re awesome
Samantha Fish is definitely someone I look up to as a guitar player and a
performer. She rocks!!
I love You Samantha Fish ❤️🎸❤️🎸
Post more Samantha, that wasn't enough!
She's awesome
Not just an amazing guitar player but a wonderful voice and an indefinably attractive rock persona. You can be watched indefinitely: all power to you dear lady!
Seriously was thinking Johnny Winter during along of her playing. That tone and her phrasing that staccato hybrid picking was on point. 💥 BOOM 💥
Her guitar playing charges me up and her voice never fails to take me to my happy place
Agree, one Samantha video turns into hours of Samantha videos

She does the best live cover version of Warpigs Ive ever heard.

@@Birkguitars Yeah me too. She really does put on a great live show. I was working at a bar she played in, shes a really nice person too.
Thats the only decent thing she has ever done.
@@janstance1322 yet here you are watching one of her videos again
@@rcole3321 lol it was from my initial search trying to find anything decent with her. Hope she notices you.

Nailing that RL Burnside sound !

@@bruceringrose7539 I agree. I love both artists, but I don't think their styles would blend.
She has great tone. To hell with perfect technique.
P90’s are my favorite pickups 👍
damn that's some great playing 💪
Jennifer Batten lives near where I call home. She is light years ahead of where I will ever get to. Many players are, everywhere I go. Just keep playing!
Love this sound and well played
I love her rhythm playin 🤔
Well said
Love the NRFB!
The Aztec Gold “1956” Strat appears to be a ‘65. It’s got a rosewood fretboard, which happened in ‘59, anf the mid-‘60s transition logo on the headstock.
Great eye! We took the morning to find the guitar and our production notes were incorrect. It is a 1964 Gold Sparkle Strat. Cheers!
Samantha you’re awesome.
I think that might have been a ‘65 Strat
That’s what I was thinking. The headstock, rosewood fretboard, and the decal
I believe it is.
Great eye! We took the morning to find the guitar and our production notes were incorrect. It is a 1964 Gold Sparkle Strat. Cheers!
Hell yeah, she's awesome! Made in the USA
Looks like this was filmed pre-show when Samantha was at Songbirds on December 10, 2019?
6:50: wise words, pure gold
True blue artist right there.
I wonder if the percussive quality that is so prominent in hill country blues got there because drums were forbidden in slavery times. It may have been a way to celebrate their roots within their bondage. Thank you for keeping blues alive.
That reverse thunderbird ❤️🥰😍 pretty kool that riff was dope, the one at the beginning and in the middle 🤓🎶
it’s a Firebird, the Thunderbird is the bass counterpart. I agree tho, it’s cool af.
I love how, the bigger and bigger rockstar that Sam becomes, the more and more she just styles herself after a truck-stop-diner waitress
Playing through a Dumble amp and playing a Firebird with P90 pickups, pinch me please Sweet JESUS. I think I might be in Heaven on earth. 🎸🙏😎✌️
What a lot of younger players don't realize is they are young. When the teacher tells you that you are holding the guitar wrong it's because if you play that way for 20 years your back and joints will be f@$%%* up even though it feels comfortable today.
Dam Girl! If what you’re doing is wrong then I don’t want to be right!
Your blues is like a car that goes smooth
Are the artists bringing their own guitars to the filming or are they given a few to use during the shoot?
So talented. She should be a household name.
💖
Nice nod to fat possum, she name dropped a lot of my faves. Never knew she was into all that!
Where is the Hill Country Blues??
If she thinks she has things difficult now, she should talk with Fanny, Girlschool and the Runaways. They had things tough, respect wise. She's correct about playing guitar. The ergonomics are the same for male or female.
Samantha,
You are a terrific guitar player and singer. Irrespective of your sex or gender.

Thank you for you amazing career.
Oh and that Firebird sounds SICK!
How is it a Firebird?
It's inverted.
Samantha needs to take that firebird home
She has a pretty good collection of guitars, including a Firebird, an SG, and a couple of Jaguars.
Gottd@mn! Girl, mmhmm!
not sure what's more attractive. the woman or the triple P90 Firebird. please don't make me choose.
It's absurd a guitar teacher would say her technique is garbage, but not surprising. Great artists will listen to the mechanics and procedures then break the rules.
Damn, a Gibson firebird non reverse, lucky you
What a gorgeous baby doll guitar girl.
Keep the guitars, I'll take the Dumble.
the perfect woman doesn't exis....oh wait...
I'll admit, I thought you were just another pretty face until I saw this video. You are the real deal and your drop dead beautiful. have fun

Didnt need a speech on equality. Really just wanted to hear her play.
Wahhh!!!
There's always one. Always.
just do it, gender isn't interesting
do not suggest
She’s average at best simp
men will tell her great she is instead of telling her to go practice
Agreed. I love the notion, that people look at a female guitarist in different way. Come on, women have been playing forever. I don't buy it & I feel when people talk that way it takes away from their credibility.
"lack of female representation" - barf
She is cool
Obviously has never heard of Sue Foley.
Ever heard of Taylor swift??
