- For this cake I wanted to keep it simple yet classy. A white base to start, clean lines, soft colors, and touches of gold to add flare, with a swirl of hearts fluttering around the cake giving it a happy, whimsical feeling. I think I achieved the look I was going for without giving anything away. I am so happy with how it turned out and I hope you all like it too!

Genius. I always thought I hard fondant, but I love it used this way! It always seems to be too thick as an all-over coating for cakes lol
I use to make fondant cakes only, I just started working with buttercream really. A lot of people feel the same as you, I think I agree too. I do really like the taste of Wilton's new fondant recipe and my kids love it but I do feel sometimes less is more. Thanks for the compliment!

Can you please tell me the things you used for this cake so I can try to recreate it for my sisters gender reveal?
Well, first, I use Wilton gel food colors to color my cakes and icing. I also used Wilton's vanilla flavored, premade fondant in white. My heart shaped cutters were purchased on Amazon. I also purchased the gold dust on Amazon. It's by Oasis Supply and it's called luster dust. The color is Pharaoh's gold. Walmart is a great supplier for Wilton products, as well as Amazon. Good luck!
