His interactions with her in AA Investigations is great too
I love how they went over Edgeworth thoroughly examining the crime scene, but at the same time somehow never bothered to have his witness remove her helmet before she testified.

They didn't get that akane s reason for saiying that she was eating, was because they didn't eat anything in the fun house (Danganronpa)and it's literally 2 episodes later, did you expect them to remember we're von karma was shot?
I haven't watched yet but judging by the title I'm assuming the "I'll find the hole in your argument" and "You can press as hard as you like" exchange happens in this episode
Unfortunately they have a walkthrough so I'm assuming we won't get Edgeworth's "stripped naked and run out for making a mockery of this court" line

@junkiesama5325 if you pick an incorrect answer Phoenix basically says something so stupid Edgeworth tells him to get naked. Granted I understand them having a walkthrough but sometimes it's worth getting a wrong answer just for the dialogue. (Still iirc Strategy wiki actually points out that specific line so maybe we'll get lucky lmao)

It only took about 2 full games for them to realize Maya calls him "Nick" as a cute shortening of Phoenix. Bravo, gentlemen.
Technically she calls him Nick because Mia calls him that and Mia calls him that because Larry calls him that.

I can't believe their reasoning for why the case is so open and shut is that the defendant's fingerprints were found on something that was specifically established to NOT be the murder weapon, and that a button which would NECESSARILY HAVE TO BE REMOVED BEFORE STABBING HIM THERE was found, covered in blood, in the defendant's stuff.

Can most of their assertions be picked apart by a fifth grader? MAYBE fourth, or even a really determined third.
But these valiant men and women of law enforcement show up to work -every day-. They are THERE. Present and accounted for. If you need someone to physically exist in proximity to a crime scene, look no further than Japanifornia PD.

I wonder if they know the Japanese name for Phoenix Wright: Naruhodo Ryuichi.
Not only "naruhodo" is a phrase meaning "I understand", but the "ryu" in "Ryuichi" stands for "dragon". The phoenix and the dragon are usually complementary mythical creatures in Eastern Asian culture. There's a lot of thought put into every character's name in the series. It's very cool
I'm pretty sure he's named after Sakamoto Ryuichi, the famous composer whose song "Thousand Knives" inspired the game's original trial song.
I can't be sure, but a lot more Japanese sources agree on this and I found no reputable English sources to confirm the dragon thing...
@@wherefancytakesme Can confirm that "Ryu" does in fact mean dragon, but cannot confirm if that was the inspiration for his name in Japanese, or for calling him "Phoenix" in the English version, or even if they use the right character in his Japanese name for it to refer to "dragon" at all. I am, however, very impressed with the localization team for finding so many ways to make jokes about him being "Wright" or wrong and the coming back from ashes thing the pheonix is known for. And "Nick" is a cute nickname for someone named "Phoenix" too! A+++ job on the English dialogue.

Having recently rewatched the Danganronpa 2 playthrough, Gumshoe's voice sounds a lot like Fuyuhiko, and I like to think after it all blew over, Fuyuhiko became Gumshoe. It doesnt make a lot of sense, but Fuyuhiko becoming a bumbling idiot detective with a good heart does feel like a fitting resolution for him

This game released October 18 2002, the song released September 29 2002. Really close to eachother. So it's possible that this got put into the game at the very last second.

4:58 I can attest to using a spoon instead of a knife for spreading. You can scoop out stuff easier and you use the corner of the bread to scrap it off and the back of the spoon to spread it across the bread. Way easier! Especially handy when you get down to the bottom of the jar to scoop and scrap every last bit left

I don't think I'd enjoy this kind of gameplay, but... "Edgeworth swinging D" makes me want to buy the collection and play it myself to find out what the heck you mean by that anyways hahaha
I adore this case for a lot of reasons, but the first day of court is one of the prime ones. You're going up against what is basically a rock-solid case and hanging on for dear life, grabbing on to small, pedantic inconsistencies and pulling at them out of sheer desperation... and at the end of it, it pays off, barely. Between hanging on for dear life and putting together all the tiny, barely relevant problems with the prosecutor's case, you manage to find a contradiction that's just big enough that it needs to be investigated -- and from there the case really takes off.
