No disrespect to Epson, I'm sure that it prints great on photo paper but I need a printer that can print on heavy cardstock, something that my other printer wasn't able to do very well. @@atouchofla I most definitely used your link- you saved me some time & frustration from purchasing the wrong printer. Thanks again for the helpful information!
Hey there! The rear tray of the Canon PIXMA PRO-100 can hold up to 50 sheets of paper, depending on the thickness of the paper. The printer can use plain paper, including recycled paper, and non-Canon genuine specialty paper up to 53 lb (200 g /m2). Heavier or lighter paper, except for Canon genuine paper, can cause jams. The manual feed tray can use paper from 4 to 23.6 mil (0.1 to 0.6 mm) (up to 93 lb (350 g /m2)), but paper thicker or heavier can cause jams.
Very helpful video! I'm just learning some of this and I do have questio. I saw your article on paper and I'm wondering...can you make an actual invitation with 80 or 110 lb paper with a Cricut? Does it write well on the invite vs using a printer?

Hey there! I probably change one of the ink cartridges every few months. It is hard to say because there are so many of them, and it really depends on what you are printing. I used to use my printer a lot more for my business, but I don't use it as much any more for that. I typically use it for home projects and things of that nature. A good example is in December I decided to print out a bunch of 11 x 14 photos with the printer. I did about 5 of them and changed a few of the ink cartridges at the beginning of that project. HOWEVER, do you have any tricks for the feed? I have done it all. Cleaned the rollers, I shuffle the cards like a blackjack dealer, try to fan them a little bit. Hey there! I’m still using the printer and the ink. :) I have only ever used the knockoff ink because the real stuff is just too pricey! Knock on wood it has never given me issues and is great quality! The cartridges last a good amount of time, although I couldn’t give you an exact timeframe. Hey Chris! Good question! I have honestly found that it really comes down to your paper quality. I have a few blogs linked here that might help: atouchofla.com/?s=Best+paper - however it really depends on what you’re trying to create. I honestly haven’t found great heavy cardstock letter sized sheets yet. I’ve mostly found presentation paper that seems to work well, and that’s all linked in those blogs. I hope that helps but let me know if not!
Hi Inderjeet - it really depends on the thickness that you want your flyers and business cards to be. If you want them to be on heavy cardstock, then you'll want a printer that will print on heavy paper. As mentioned, I don't know many other inkjet printers that print on this heavy of cardstock. Therefore, the Pro-100 would be my vote!
Yes it absolutely will! I have some great waterproof sticker paper that I love which you can find here: atouchofla.com/suggested-products-for-creating-digital-party-decorations/ I hope that helps but let me know if you have more questions ❤️
Hi Keni! Unfortunately with this one it only goes to 110 lbs. However, with the 200, you can print 130 lb cardstock paper. You can get that one here: amzn.to/3u1OIiG
I bought this printer ruclips.net/user/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 to replace an aging HP printer. It is just used for casual home printing so I don't need anything more. Installation went easily though the HP Smart Printing doesn't work well with our laptops - having to select the actual device. Will have to see how the HP Instant Ink program works out. Plus haven't been able to set up printing from smartphone yet - either direct or WiFi
Lindsay I am looking at the Pro-200 at this time, but wondered if you ever ran 12 x 12 white cardstock through the 100 and had good print quality? I make junk journals and use a cricut so I use alot of digital files. (not sure if the 110 stock you are using is coated or glossy, regular cardstock i use is just matte)
Hi Lisa! Thanks for your message! I honestly haven't printed on 12 x 12. However, I would be confident it would be fine with that size. The one thing I would recommend is testing out the paper. The paper itself is really the true test. I have found that even though the 110 cardstock paper from Michaels is good in terms of it's heaviness, it doesn't print on vibrant colors. I would say you should do a test with different types of paper. I have a few blogs about the paper I use for projects, which I will list below. None of them are 12 x 12, but maybe it will give you some idea. I know that isn't super helpful, but it's a lot of trial and error. Hiya, Thanks for your post! I have a different Canon craft printer and can print on much heavier cardstock (I make postcards). I have been using 160#. Printer is fabulous. HOWEVER, do you have any tricks for the feed? I have done it all. Cleaned the rollers, I shuffle the cards like a blackjack dealer, try to fan them a little bit. I never get jams, just the lie of 'Paper has run out'. Any suggestions?
Which one do you have
I honestly just take a break for a while and it tends to work again. We all need a break right? haha. Sorry this doesn't help you much. Would love to know which printer you have.
@@lilyeskew3424 I'm curious too!
Thank you - this was very helpful.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching :)
I noticed this video was released a year ago. Using the third party ink hasn’t given you any problems? Problems with the printer overall and also quality imagine is good enough ? Lastly how long will this third party cartridges last? Thanks 😊
Hey there! I’m still using the printer and the ink. :) I have only ever used the knockoff ink because the real stuff is just too pricey! Knock on wood it has never given me issues and is great quality! The cartridges last a good amount of time, although I couldn’t give you an exact timeframe. It probably depends on what you’re printing. I’m always printing photos and things with a lot of ink and I change out my ink once every few months (not even ever color though.)
@@atouchoflathank you for replying fast 😊. I will use the printer mainly to do crafts and stickers for my daughters so I don’t want to buy canon ink since is pricy.
@@nu3salud that’s awesome! Yes it should work for that ;)
Hi do you know of a laser printer that takes thick card stock ? For foiling? Thank you!!!!!
Hey there! Unfortunately, I don't know anything about laser printers. BUT I would love to, so if you learn anything I would love to hear back from you once you find out. Maybe laser printers are in my future! Also GOLD FOILING would be amazing! I wish I knew how to do that!
@@atouchofla definitely I just ordered the Minc foil and the foil transfer machine just need the laser printer with tear tray that can take card stock :) I’ll keep you posted :)
@@KassyDee That's so awesome. I need to look into that!
Hi, i just watched your video.
I, HAVE OWNED NOTHING BUT HP PRINTERS SCAN, COPY, PRINT for years
HERE, LATELY MY HP PRINTER 5660 Envy has been printing with no issues at all, but i find lately i switched to 110 cardstock
and when i print out my crafts for cards and cut and print with my cricut machine the colors are terrible. I, thought maybe
hp was not sticking enough ink in my cartridges because my colored inks are almost like they been sitting out in the sun and faded colors.
Now, im investing in to buying a better printer just for my crafts . I, WANT SOMETHING I CAN PRINT ON 110 CARDSTOCK AND HAVE BRIGHT COLORS WHEN PRINTING out cards.
*** ( Does, your printer print out Very Bright Colors when using the heavy Cardstock ? ) ***
Thanks
Hey Marlene! What a great question! I had this EXACT same problem. But would you believe me if I told you it was your PAPER and not your printer that was giving you the dull prints? :) I have a blog on this (sorry no youtube video yet) that you can check out here. Unfortunately I don't have suggestions on the heavy cardstock paper for great paper, but this blog should give you an idea of the paper I use for my Cricut projects: atouchofla.com/best-paper-for-vibrant-print-then-cut-cricut-projects/ I hope it helps! Let me know! xo
i have canon pro 200 but i’m noticing my prints look grainy on cardstock, any advice on how to get high quality results on cardstock?
Make sure to buy paper that is made for inkjet printing. Regular paper doesn't have the coatings necessary for ink to work correctly.
Which printer is best to print business cards and flyers ?
Hi Inderjeet - it really depends on the thickness that you want your flyers and business cards to be. If you want them to be on heavy cardstock, then you'll want a printer that will print on heavy paper. As mentioned, I don't know many other inkjet printers that print on this heavy of cardstock. Therefore, the Pro-100 would be my vote!
What about 130 pound cardstock
Hey girl! Unfortunately I don’t know about that! I’ll have to do some more research! Sorry about that.
Will this printer print on sticker paper?
Yes it absolutely will! I have some great waterproof sticker paper that I love which you can find here: atouchofla.com/suggested-products-for-creating-digital-party-decorations/ I hope that helps but let me know if you have more questions ❤️
Can I print on 130 pound watercolor paper? Thank you!
Hi Keni! Unfortunately with this one it only goes to 110 lbs. However, with the 200, you can print 130 lb cardstock paper. You can get that one here: amzn.to/3u1OIiG
@@atouchofla Hi Lindsay, I should have qualified that I am getting the 200, thank you very much for the video and responding to my question.
Oh great! Thanks for watching! 😍
@@atouchofla My pleasure! 🥰
Same! I actually just thought of a new project to use this for today!! I’m excited
Ohhh I need to us HP? Any good HP
Hey! Unfortunately I haven’t found any HP printers that print on that heavy cardstock. If you do let me know!
Make sure to come back and let me know how it goes because I am definitely learning from you!

Just changing the title of a 2-year-old video to say 2024 doesn't fix the issue that it is two years old.
That's funny because it's still helping people even 2 years later.
Good, but discontinued.
Hey! You can still get it on Amazon here: amzn.to/3Sdb4tB if you’d rather the newer version, I recommend the 200: amzn.to/3tUFJ7e
The printer sounds good for heavy stock but it's an ink jet, no good for foil printing. So the holy grail is a 300GSM mono laser printer that is cheap. Trying to find one is like trying to find hen's teeth! impossible!
ya that totally makes sense! Thanks for sharing that! I would love to try some foil printing!! I am going to check that laser printer out for sure!
Looking for this aswell!
@@meejay100 I wish I had experience with a laser. Come back and let us know if you find a good one!
@@atouchofla I have a canon pixma ip8750 and it worked well with 300gsm/ 110lb depending on the paper. So for inket I wil recommend for those without the budget for the canon pro-100 and still want quality print. My next inket printer will definitely be a pro-200. Thank you for this video ❤️.
@@meejay100 thank you so much! This is super helpful! I found that printer on on Amazon: amzn.to/43sMFUU - still a bit pricey but you’re right! Much better! Thank you again!
OMG!!! get to the point of the title!
Do you have any recs for epson eco tank printers that prints 100+lb papers?🥹
Sadly I don't! I am so sorry!
does this print from phone or pc?
Hey there! Yes, that is really a wifi thing. You just make sure you are on the same wifi, and you can print from your phone as well as your computer.
@@atouchofla does it print on cardstock?
